- Hello and welcome back to another episode of The Dive with Azael, Kobe and Meteos. First up, we’ll break down Patch 14.3 and the arrival of Smolder! Next, we’ll look at the LCS teams’ standings as we pass the halfway point of the regular season! Then, Meteos admits his C9 copium is at an all time high. Meteos is the best thing to ever happen to this podcast. I'm loving the chemistry between all three of these beautiful men.

Wow. I'll be honest, I wasn't super high on Meteos when I saw him on the first episode this season. But he has been incredible! I was wrong, and I'm sorry I doubted him at all.
I love seeing Meteos as a part of The Dive. He works well with other hosts. He's great at riffing and providing unique perspectives. It's 1000x better than him doing solo interviews like he does on the C9 channel.
He thrives with other entertainers/talkers who can help carry and move the convo and help bounce off around on things rather than someone whos core isnt sitting there comfortable on camera having a chat
Joining in on the Meteos love. The guy's really smart about the game with a great sense of humour, and great for this sort of podcast. Not even Pr0lly's career-sabotaging antics can stop this man.

I liked the discussion. One piece of feedback I'd provide though, could you get a different table that doesn't boom in the mic every time someone taps the table? Meteos is constantly tapping the table when he's talking and it shouldn't be an issue, but because of the setup, it's like a drum in my ears.
look around my room for about 5 minutes trying to figure out what was happening, it was just Will's hand banging the table every time he's making a point.
The bass was thumping my car speakers xD
@@spawnofheck I literally was looking around me like who's car speakers are going crazy, cuz it was at a mid lvl where it sounded almost...distant
love the show, slight complaint, anytime any of them touch the table it makes a bad sound that the mic's are catching and my subwoofers bumping it making it worse

Was really hard to listen to on headphones there was some really low sub hits through the entire episode.
Couldn't tell if it was a microphone issue, or if someone was bumping the table or kicking it.
Pretty sure it's Meteos tapping the table. You can watch it line up with him touching the table.

Lately LCS been good, now with PROS and DIVE this looks so good tbh
meteos warmed up really fast with asael and kobe and they are already a really good trio
Biggest buff to Asol was they gave him reasonable mana costs. The stacks are nice, but having mana means he can trade without having to back every other wave.

Man Meteos adds so much to this. The Dive is better than it's ever been
Man, I haven't seriously played League in prob like 5 years. I play an occasional ARAM but that's really it. I can still listen to these guys talk about the game for hours. Love how much content the LCS is putting out these days
I love it. Keep being a fan man! The game is a great mind relaxer.
I think a comeback player of the split/year could be a cool award for The Dive. Personally, I would nominate Quid, but there are a lot of good options in Olleh, Inspired or Bwipo.
Olleh is high on this list for me. Dude came back and wounded C9! Now all they have to do is slay this beast for the ship - NRG included. Playoffs gonna be hyped!

Yes! Catch up with the other 2 episodes from this season. The podcast/show has been great this season, partly due to the addition of Meteos! It’s a great time to be a fan on LoL and LCS.
Meteos is my favorite league personnel. Love these Dive episodes.

Really shows how at least in league, pro players can be one of the best content creators. Meteos, doublelift, sneaky caedrel… we need more of em as hosts and casters
If I was a c9 fan the Ashley interview would be incredibly concerning to me. Jojo seemed to think their drafts were fine and didn’t seem to be at all concerned that they’re losing so much (not that I would want him to be panicking, but being 3-4 on a super team I would hope he is feeling some pressure to perform). The playoff cutoff is super soft for an 8 team league so they’re almost certainly making playoffs, but NRG destroyed them in bo3 last split when they had a much better performing team.
As not much of a c9 fan itd make me breathe a sigh of relief cuz the #1 or #2 superteam killer is the pressure to perform kills them the second they're falling down imo

Meteos feels like, a "slightly closer to player-base" host of the show. Azael and Kobe have essentially "always" worked for Riot, but Meteos started as a player, turned content creator, and brings a totally different layer and feel to the podcast. If they were all on a sliding scale of "cooperate" vs "consumer," Meteos DEFINITELY lands closer to us on the spectrum, just you know, a little more knowledgeable lol.

Personally as a 100T fan i felt the closer was majority of the issues of 100T last year.

Meteos is a great person to have on a podcast. Very enjoyable to listen to.
Love the show! Can we remind Meteos to not tap the table when talking though. Or just get some proper suspended mic setups. I'm still noticing a lot of thumps while listening in headphones and it's a bit distracting
Feedback:
- Could you increase the general volume of the podcast, the volume is really low compared to other stuff. When I try to game on the side Im always shocked how loud the game is
- Meteos stop hitting the table :P (example 32:07)

Meteos is a fun addition to The Dive, but in a podcast that tries to give high level analysis and offers ideas of what is true/the best (what teams are the best, what players are the best, what champions are the best, why it is, how it is, et cetera), Meteos should not have been added.
Meteos is fun and offers some good insight into the lives of pro players and what they are doing/how they might be thinking, but his thoughts on the game and on the league are casual at best and wrong at worst. Imagine if you added someone like Aphromoo! He has all the experience of Meteos, but is a genius mind in the game and understands the intricacies of both the league and how the game should be played. His analysis would be an amazing addition to The Dive; the type of analysis that Meteos doesn't/can't provide.
At first I thought metros’ energy wasn’t going to be a good fit for the dive but he’s really been killing it thumbs up

What they mean is
“I need a eastern pro to use it in pro for me to get the confidence to use it”
For Summer I hope they go one best of one round robin followed by a best of two round robin based on seeding from the first round robin. Consistent broadcast times, more games, no ties and a little bit of adaptation. Can prep the first draft, normal experience second draft.

@@EveryTimeIDavid in total, 3 games played per split between each team. You just rank everyone by total games won at the end and any ties are determined by head to head.

@@EveryTimeIDavid it is only of you had to play all 3 games in a single round robin bo3(not just 2/3). This way you get to see everyone against each other once in the first 3 weeks then you get to see some planning and adaptation and/or redemption if the lesser team can pull off a win on the third game.
@@F00Lsmack you’re way is still playing 3 total matchups. I’m confused as to how it’s not best of 3 because of that, and because best of 2 does not exist. That allows for ties, which is the whole point of best of formats.
Feels good to be an LCS fan right now great games fun teams lots of content the only thing is lack of games and this long break in the middle of the split (meteos still suckling the teet of cloud 9 11 years later)
I love Bwipo. So glad he’s back. Loved him in LEC, love him in LCS. I think Bwipo could be the guy to get everyone to listen to Inspired (which they should, even if Inspired lacks social skills).

as a 100T fan i find it weird that people think its so surprising that 100T is tied for second. They are literally only 1 loss away from being 6th, its not like they are far ahead
I don't listen to the dive usually but since meat toes has been on its been pretty fire
When I first played smolder he felt like sivir and Xayah to me which I loved
I dont like sivir at all but love xayah so.maybe that's part of my enjoyment. Tbh smolder felt like cait to me when played w the right like items and runes. Strong poke laning. Great sieging. Great wave killing range. Just doesnt hit towers hard rn but still ranged autos
(Also on release I was spamming the rfc by atleast 3rd item every game style and that def helped said feeling^)
I think it was 3 seconds that were added to brands jungle clear with the nerfs. Not that bad of a nerf
Casters and LCS content creators should make watching scrims more common so we can get more inside info and data

Am I being dumb or does Kayle scale about the same time as him as average? I would think on average kayles are 16 somewhere right before 20ish minutes so smolders stacks coming then doesn’t seem super early to me
What about urgot with hullbreaker? if he gets to W a tower he'll melt it cause it attacks so many times it'll keep proccing the hullbreaker.

As a long time C9 fan, I really can’t help but feel doomed right now. Idk what’s up but the only person playing well more or less is Jojo.
Bot lane (regardless of inting) is losing every match up that they should be crushing, Fudge is non-existent, and Blaber has been a ghost on engage champs.

I think that's more that Kobe and Azael have more experience with the show, they know that if Meteos finishes his full though the podcast would be about 4+ hours (not that I'm opposed to that), but interjecting with their own thoughts and also keeping the show rolling is good. (If they made an 8 hour episode I would watch the whole thing just btw)
Edit: Also if you want more Meaty Toes, watch his co-stream with sneaky! vods on Sneaky's twitch or Sneaky's editor does an amazing job condesing the days game to about an hour and a half podcast style video on Sneaky's channel

Surely the C9 coach needs to take a ton of responsibility for this? They have looked super passive for 18 months, their whole strategy is hands gap. Mic that with attrocious drafts considering the players you have. The players (apart from JoJo) have looker terrible, but collectively they just look absolutely rudderless

then you watch LPL and lucian looks like the most op champ in the game, enemy team cant step on mid or they get 30% HP'd in 1 combo with a winning 2v2 against any champ combo in the game if you play well enough. I can see why a team wouldn't want to invest time into learning how to play around it but can we actually stop the narrative that the champ is bad? Literally go watch any good LPL and even LCK team vod of them playing lucian and tell me if the champ's balanced
The issue is really that ADCs in NA aren't at the level of ADs in china or Korea, they think they can play it but they can't and honestly it looks like a really hard pick to abuse especially when you take first strike.

I love then I'm playing Smolder and my support Zyra is stacking off minions instead of poking Champs.
Marksman players, all the way to the best, tend to have the least grasp of build evaluation when it comes to new champions. They build what they are used to and blame the champ until others actually do the research for them. Adc's know the stoves hot, but they learn it by touching every burner. Pretty sure Meteos touched on this a few episodes ago. I don't know how good Smolder is but marksman players rarely have a good read on launch builds. Kai'sa and Senna launch both proved that autopiloting builds is the norm.
The Brand+Lillia+Rengar nerfs were needed; now they need to knock Bel'Veth and Briar down a peg or two.
C9 is looking like the TL roster with Bjerg, TONS of talent, no team play.

Speaking on Aurelion Sol, I don’t think I can ever forgive them for reworking him that first time. The toggle w was so nice and fun to play with and was so unique
