I don't know if it'll be possible with his schedule now, but I sincerely hope we get a couple Mark guest appearances on the Dive this year still. Love his outlook on the game and love his content. Still feels weird having someone who is so engrained in the LCS as commissioner.

small note on cryptobloom, the heal is 50+50%ap and the heal is slightly wider than seraphine w. So, veigar does well with it, any mage to 3/4 items does well with it, and the heal will hit multiple people very easily.

Just finished listening to this on the way home from work. Really good episode. Meteos obviously has put a thought of thought in to what he has to say. What a good pickup! I think he's a great addition to the cast. I am really looking forward to all the casters takes on this season!

As someone who's been watching professional league since 2011, and was finding myself less intterested of late especially with the loss of the team I followed those 13 years, all of MarkZ's changes have me super excited for the LCS. Looking forward to what happens with them, and what comes next.

Love these episodes! One thing I wanted to suggest after a few years of watching these power rankings is that usually in other sports power rankings are used as a measure of a point in time, so there's not so much focus on getting end of split rankings correct. It's all about who is perceived to be stronger this moment. So things like an NRG slow start can be taken into account as maybe they're not power ranked top 2 at the moment but your end of split/year projections have them top 2. The main interesting thing I think this would let you do is it lets you revisit the power rankings periodically and say which teams have moved up and down which won't always match the standings.

WOOOOO so hyped for a new season of The Dive
In regard to Cryptbloom, 100% have done it in games where either i am going hard on a diver and don't need as much pen and can get a heal. That heal can get up to the amount of a heal spell so I have also done it when I have multiple divers and am playing Orianna. Getting a big AOEblow up on a team and your divers securing the kill on one person just creates a health advantage that can snowball your teamfights pretty hard. But I'm not sure if just having straight damage might be better.
Been following the league scene since the beginning. MarkZ being the next commissioner is hands down the best decision. I'll miss you on hot line love, i'll miss you on the broadcast, I'll miss you on that sweet sweet silver scrapes. But G D, you are the perfect man for the job.

I think fly is going to be the most fun team to watch. Busio was a mid laner and likes to cook. Inspired and bwipo are open to running interesting comps. One of the players said that was the major reason they chose fly they foresee this team being prepared to run anything. With the love patch changes I think they could surprise some folks

Honestly looking forward to the crew helping Meteos get better at public speaking and removing some of his filler words from his speech. Meteos is smart, but can benefit greatly from more concisely expressing himself.

An important note on the soloq point 1:09:27: the best players may not be the best because they play the most soloq, they may play the most soloq because they're the best. Just punching your card every day doesn't make you better, you have to love it and want to learn. The end result is the same, but it's important that we don't equate lots of work with just being better.
A lot of people don't realise or remember both olleh and tactical had anxiety issues. I think they're gonna strengthen each other

Verdant barrier needs to be built as a core tbh, banshee's veil has 120 ap and you get a spell shield through the barrier for an extremely efficient amount of gold... building it against mages and poke is actually really broken

love the dive. please just be careful of it becoming a jungle only show. its great to hear all the map changes but it would be nice to hear from more than just the jungle angle.....how do the changes affect the actual laners in those lanes.

Regarding sniper, when Jojo was at MSI, he had not played a single game vs anivia EVER when caps picked against it (according to peter dun). If a player is good and motivated enough, the game knowledge should come as long as ur coach and teammates keep you in mind.
Regarding the topic of innovation not happening before (around 18:00) I think it was really a function of coaching.

The fact that the in-game stats were removed is a deliberate F*U to the player base. No one wants that removed. Everyone wants it added back. Daddy Rito's "we know better than you" attitude is at it again.
So in terms of the 'super team problem'. The reason I don't think C9 is going to have this problem is simply because they all have similar playstyles and Jojo and Blabber will mesh together super well because they both know how to play on that knife's edge. I think with previous super teams like on TL is, well what happened, they looked scattered because the players all liked to play differently.
C9 I believe, now more than ever, is that their players are a Single Braincell Memey Hive Mind. It's why I latched onto C9 when I first started watching LCS. They would pull out weird pocket picks, they were always having a good time, even if they were loosing they were having fun, had good mental, and were kind of... performers. There were a few years where their personality kinda died off and I do think they were worse off for it. The last two or so years they've bounced back and feel like C9 again.
I have no problems believing Jojo will mesh with the team instantly. EG felt like C9 Jr. when it first entered the league. Of course it didn't help that EG was like 3/5ths former C9 players. Even still, especially with Vulcan being verbal on social media and such. They had the same vibe to them and they filled that playing for fun vibe while C9 kinda standardized themselves.

What is the incentive for red side to send their duo lane bot except for matching blue? If it's that vulnerable, and you want to prioritize grubs in a game, shouldn't red team lane swap early to establish control?
I hear some people talk about blaber was only good with nisqy, but honestly he didn’t have any great mid laner after that either until now.
And yes perkz was good but anyone who watched the regular season had doubts because he looked shaky and sometimes popped off

Any chance we just see a permanent swap of adc/supp to mid lane? It is harder to gank mid lane now and it allows easy transition to any objective. It also allow easy roams from supp.

Mark was an amazing replacement for Jatt and now Meteos is an amazing replacement for Mark. The Dive continuing to cement itself as the top LCS podcast
Watching this really put into perspective how in their own world Kobe and Azael can get. Don't get me wrong I love both of them as casters and everywhere else but on the Dive the third person is really a third wheel. Mark has gotten bullied for years especially by Kobe and nothing changed with the opening segment where he has to repeat himself several times to get a word in. Meteos is a different dynamic now but look at the segment starting 01:46:16 about Insanity running it down in scrims. Meteos makes a good counterpoint about how that affects finding scrim partners which could have been an interesting player perspective insight but gets basically disregarded.
I feel like there's no roster in which Impact is a bad player to put on it. He just is always so good and you can't really go wrong or have it backfire on you.
