      Just finished this mod a week ago. Way, way easier than I thought it would be.
      Some notes from my experience:
      -Remove the hose from the new plug and tighten the plug with a 1” socket. It’s just much easier this way.
      -Be careful when you cut the bottom heater core hose (the one nearest the floor that connects to a black metal pipe fitting on the engine block NOT a silver metal pipe) because there’ll likely be coolant in it still. Just have a bucket handy.
      -To pinch off the hose whilst bleeding the system I used a pipe wrench which I tightened onto the hose while the car was running, got back into the driver’s seat and revved a few times then crawled back under the car and removed the pipe wrench.
      Other than that it was surprisingly easy and I’ve had zero issues! I’m definitely getting slightly lower operating temperatures too!

    If you get the rubber pad for the jack stands you can put them on the pinch welds. I think they are available on amazon.

    Apparently Subaru use to do this on the older libertys then they stopped doing it they reckon it didn’t work for some reason

    So i did this mod and my heat only works over 3000 RPM. Did I cut the wrong hose?

    • @brotherboost
      @brotherboost  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hmmm. That’s a good question. I’ll try to find out. Did you make sure there was no air in your lines

    • @imuruncledaddy8753
      @imuruncledaddy8753 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@brotherboost I took it to a shop and had a restrictor put in because it wasn't working at all. They got it to work but only if it's above 3000 rpm or under sustained load. I think its the placement of the hoses on the T fitting.

    • @brotherboost
      @brotherboost  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@imuruncledaddy8753 I posted in a forum and so far I’ve gotten two responses. One guy said that he installed his on the wrong hose and it did not mess with his heat. Another guy said that a blow head gasket could cause that. I’ll keep you updated with other responses.

    • @brotherboost
      @brotherboost  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@imuruncledaddy8753 I guess the next bast thing to try would be to put it back how it was and see if your heat works normal.

    • @brotherboost
      @brotherboost  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@imuruncledaddy8753 I don’t think it’s a blown head gasket but I would just try to make sure you complete burp the system with your heat all the way on and if that doesn’t work then I would take the cooling mood out and see if it works

    Dude good video. I like how well u explained it, but next time can you get a camera man/women? That way people like me who don’t know much about engines can get a full thorough understanding of how you worked around any possible obstacles to get it in.
    I don’t mean it in a passive aggressive way or to talk shit to u.

    This mod is pretty unnecessary in most cases. If you run your car hard than yeah. Good idea. But If its a daily that you just putt around in and maybe do a few pulls every now and then, this mod won’t do you much good. Motor will be fine. Use good gas and have a good tune.

    Theres nothing you can do to make these pieces of garbage reliable and for how alow they are, it's quite pathetic how unreliable they are. Subaru should go out of businesses.
