    I live in Ireland where we have very strict gun CONTROL, I lived in Arizona for several years where I enjoyed a wide choice of guns ranging from flint lock, cap & ball and more modern types. I really enjoyed the video.

      I hate that for you man. That will never change until democrats are voted out and even then it will probably take decades to get all those ridiculous gun laws reversed. My eyes are getting worse every year and I've started using red dots on my main carry pistol. Unfortunately the M11A1 is not MOS ready and I believe would give the 229 a run for the money if it were.

      @@eddieengland9886 M11A1 would have paired nicely with my Mk25-CA. Gotta love LCI and mag disconnect as much as seat belts.

      What were those reasons for you? I have the Mk25 and looking to pair them up. Do you know what trigger mods are available for the M11-A1? From grey guns perhaps?

      For me I like the absence of a light rail since the only pistol I use one on is my nightstand pistol. It's sleekness, durability, Sig sights and trigger, and it's not optics ready. I have a 365XL with a green dot which is my cc gun most of the time and it's handy for that for my aging eyes but I really don't think I'd need it with the M11A1. Only one way to find out I guess.

    M11-A1 was and still is the best of these by far. A compact pistol does not need a stupid and ugly rail and hooked guard with bottom surface to abrade your fingers on the bottom. The M11 also has corrosion resistance in internal parts. I did put a standard trigger on the one I had but had left the rest stock because it was so good. As for the "legion" guns, Sig is now sending a much cheaper gun case if you register. I sold that Sig too... only one I regret selling is the M11, when I can afford it again, I'll probably purchase another in the future.

      E2 upgrade kit is worth a look for the hammer rod. I saw a video that showed what looked like an original MEM part. The kit has a metal rod with much better finish. Video presenter said that new rod made huge difference in DA pull.

    Just Subscribed to your Chanell, great information about the New Legion Series as well. I have an M11A1 and love it along with a P229R 9mm with the TacPac-L, also have a Beretta M9 but back in 1990 I became a Police Officer and we were issued the Sig P226 and have had a Sig throughout the years and absolutely love them. I had an original Sig P228 in the late 90's but had to sell in 2001 but about a year ago I purchased my M11A1 and the P229 and the M9 and saw your videos tonight about the Legion Series and what all the Legion Series entails for someone purchasing this great new Line and already I'm thinking GREAT another Sig P229 I feel I MUST add to my collection so THANKS guys. LOL Seriously tho the videos were very informative and I like you have many different things ABOUT the Sig Brand as a whole. Keep up the good work and wouldn't mind trying to win a Sig hat sometime if I can as well, I think you can win one anyways I believe right? Well I hope I can, thanks again and look forward to more informative videos.

    Hey everyone! Thanks for checking out our video. Below are the SWAG winners from this video.
    Just so everyone knows how we pick the winners the process is outlined below.
    Make a list of all commenters sorted alphabetically and allowing one entry per name (duplicates removed). Then we assign a number to each name (in Excel) and use a random number generator (random.org) to pick a random number from the total eligible list. We remove each winner after assigning them the corresponding price in the order shown in the video and the random number is reduced by one total possible number to account for the remaining eligible entries. That process is repeated until all prices have been awarded.
    The winners of this contest are:
    jaboody singh - Christensen hat
    Rudyelf1 - Sig Hat
    Ryan Stover - Sig Trucker Hat
    Floyd Markley - MPX Mag Pouch
    michael huertas (hellbound411) - Crimson Trace Shirt
    Nick Ventetuolo - Sig keychain
    If you are a winner please email john@osagecountyguns.com with your mailing address. We will send you a confirmation code to verify your identity and have you reply to this comment with that code - that ensures someone else isn't emailing us claiming to be you.... If we have verified you from a previous contest it isn't required again.

    People keep mentioning the high price point. Well gents, as the OCG guy mentioned, the features bring it up to a good deal. Allow me to elaborate. I was tempted to get a scorpion and mod the frame, similar to what Sig made to the Legion. The metal work and refinish would have left me without $ for a Bruce Gray trigger job, and some aftermarket sights. As for the "join the cool kids club" marketing/hype, meh. These are tools, not some trendy/"swag" sneakers to impress on the first day of school. OCG, keep that discount going, because MSRP is for suckers. (dibs on the sig trucker hat.)

    I hadn't even heard of the Legion series. I have nearly every standard and elite Sig P 22x series made. I'm missing scorpion models. The Legion looks very well thought out and desirable. The only shortfall to me, is the beaver tails and semi beaver tails are too thick, and don't add much value. They don't allow one to get the web of the hand higher up such as on a good 1911 or CZ75 Custom. That addition to the Legion would have sold many folks on the gun (IMO) and a MUST have for me. But obviously they are still my favorite since I keep selling my other guns to buy Sigs. Fantastic model comparison video...the best I've seen.

    Thank you for an informative video. I'm a long time Sig owner I've had a chance to shoot all three of these beautiful weapons and a couple of points are worth making that were not discussed here. Grip size and feel are all very different. I prefer the E2 grips that come standard on the 229 Enhanced Elite. They are a thinner profile and have a great tactile feel. The M11 and Scorpion can be swapped out for E2...does anyone know if the Legion can? My opinion of the new XRay-3 sights is they are great but really only brought Sig up to what has been available in the aftermarket for a long long time and in all honesty, I don't think they are as good as some of the site specific manufacturers. Lastly a suggestion for future videos, please use a neutral/white mat on the table when showing the features of a black gun. Thanks again!

    Thanks for the great video. I really want the x-ray sights and think I want the gray guns trigger, but I plan to carry this and have no need for the rail. I am also concerned about the crappy Legion PVD finish. Scorpion is out for me due to the full beavertail and overall size (it's actually slightly longer and heavier than my MK25). Decisions, decisions.

  • @colesutra

    I'd put the M11-A1 above the Legion 229 for two simple facts:
    The phosphate treated components in the M11 improve the wear and tear lifetime, and will keep your handgun more reliable in the long term.
    And second, the 229 Legion has a single-point adjustable trigger which *is* very good out of the box--you can tune them to be finger-pressure-reset. But you can buy an M11 for $300 cheaper, get a two-point Grayguns adjustable trigger (both pre-travel and over-travel) for around $70, get an E2 one-piece grip that has better hand-fit and grip than the Legion grip plates. You'll still have around $175 leftover, and end up with a better performing handgun.

    Great vid for me, I'm presently in the market for my second sig. I had narrowed down scorpion elite p229, p225, p229 legion. I didn't think of the m11a1. Also in the running is a sig or colt 1911 and sa range officer compact

    Very informative comparison. I have a 229 Elite in 40/.357 Sig with an SRT trigger. Love this semi-auto. It would be nice for you to compare it to the Scorpion as it is a 40 cal. You could also explain how easy it is to swap from 40 to 357 Sig.

    I have the M11-A1 can't justify spending extra $300 for few checkering cuts, its a total gimic as far as I'm concerned. The M11 comes with tritium night sights and SRT trigger. Its the best trigger I've ever shot on any sig. Thats all I need, guess maybe rails would be nice, but then again I haven't attached a single light or lazer to any of my other guns that have rails, so I can do with out them. Thanks for the review

  • @playultimate86

    Just a comment about the coatings you mentioned. PVD is a process in which DLC is applied. People seem to get this confused a lot but essentially anything PVD coated is going to have good hardness and hold up well. DLC's have an excellent surface finish and lubricity to them in addition, I'm not certain if everything PVD coated will though. I wouldn't be surprised if some PVD coatings lack those friction reducing properties. It seems the firearms industry doesn't distinguish these differences well, could be marketing or even their engineering not knowing any better.

    I've never once heard or seen "Premature slide lock back" with a Sig. Failure to lock back all damn day. But never locking it back. No one on the planet puts upward pressure on the slide release during live fire. It's impossible to do so without actively trying given the location of the lever.

    • @OsageCountyGuns-MO
      @OsageCountyGuns-MO  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +DevilDolphin I haven't had it happen to me but recall seeing some topics on SigForum some time ago. I'm pretty confident that the reason for modification to that control was due to the shooter accidentally catching the lever and locking the slide inadvertently (perhaps more often when wearing gloves).

    • @navyman8903
      @navyman8903 9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Osage County Guns Admittedly I'm predominantly an HK guy. But I have owned a MK25 P226 for years and fired about 2500 rounds down range with it, I also carry an actual M11(not the M11-A1 aka P229, but a tried and true 228 M11) on duty. I think the more research you do, youtube videos, and forum posts combined, you'll find it's actually failing to lock back on an empty magazine. I've never seen a forum post on premature lock back or even heard of it until this video to be honest with you.

    • @OsageCountyGuns-MO
      @OsageCountyGuns-MO  9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +DevilDolphin I have definitely seen the failures to lock back! It is possible I am wrong but I remember a specific instance where a shooter was experiencing the issue. For some reason I feel like it was on a P320 or P250 and not a P226 / P229 that was being discussed on SigForum. It was about a year or so ago. I'll make an inquiry with Sig to verify the justification for the change to the controls.

    I can operate a 229 with E2 grips very easy but with stock it is a reach. Never held one with G-10 grips. It is going to be much larger than the E2 grips with the short reach trigger?

    I have a M11-A1...I realize the firearm is closer to the P229. I am curious is to why the P228 grips. Oh BTW, great video!

      @Airplanetyson 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Because the original m11-a1’s were p228s, however all p228’s we’re discontinued in 2005. They two are identical the only difference was the p228 was a stamped carbon gun and the P229 is milled (heavier and more durable)

    With the price bump from the standard 229, wondering how expensive it would be to do add ons to an old style 229 (trigger, sights, etc) to put it close to the elite status of the Legion

      +hockeynpolo1 We have Sig's breakdown on the cost of each enhancement on our blog post linked from the description on this video. Those prices are likely MSRP for each enhancement.

    The regular p229s differ in slide thickness and weight (by an ounce or so).. Is this also the case for the Legion series 229s? Or do the 40S&W model and 9mm model share the same slide?

    • @OsageCountyGuns-MO
      @OsageCountyGuns-MO  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Richard Lee I believe they use different slides just like other P229's so I suspect there will be a minor variation in weight.

    Ahhhhh the 229's!! 😍 Now we're talkin. Definitely like the Legion the best here. That FDE is pretty sweet though.

    I just purchased a P220 Carry Elite Dark. Can I purchase a set, or have the Sig factory install a set of the X-Ray sights on my pistol?

    Nice advertisement for the Legion.
    Value? The M11-A1 is the best value out of all 3 of those, what are you smoking?

    It constantly astounds me that everybody ignores the fact that the slide on the p229 40 cal (newer ones) is 1/10 inch wider and taller than that of the 9mm. That is a big difference; holsters that fit the 9mm P229 and m11-A1 do not fit the 40 cal. ...how many people know that?

    Does the 229 Legion fit into a kydex holster for a 229R?

    okay, what is the point of getting the p226 version over the p229, im getting legion either way but just asking how is it better? better distance, low recoil etc? does the exta inch in the barrel make a difference over the compact or concealed carry option.
