Finally! Some true art directly utilizing the gelli plate! I was wondering how long it would take for artists to figure out how to use this plate for something other than a tool to make collage papers. You cracked thru. Awesome! And hauntingly beautiful. Would you recommend the paper you used as a fine art paper? Would you consider it gallery quality? If so, what is it? (All I ever use is cold-pressed watercolor paper, and I doubt that it would be smooth enough for this technique.) Big hug for this wowzer piece, cat

I am thinking about getting a Gelli plate also but would be using it for a fine art photography based mixed media series to (hopefully) show at a gallery one day. Love that you show how it can be used for more than just textured paper printing for crafting. As long as you use archival products, thinking outside the box is how people make fine art!

Hi Andy I just wondered me how do you do to have your paints wet enough to work on your details as long it seems and what kind of paint are you using; liquid, normal...?

wow my 2nd gelli print video I have seen, Its all new art craft to me, its really interesting what it is. Great video tutorial by just watching w no narrative too.
How did you achieve the longer open time of the paint? It seems you had a lot of time to get your print off the plate. I've only just got my gelli plate and find that if i take to long i need to add a wet layer and leave the paper on for a short while so all the paint comes off.
This is the first time I have seen this done. I am amazed at the beautiful outcome. Definitely have to try this. Thank you for the wonderful demonstration.

Awesome! I made my own Gelli plate and played around with creating a scene like this using a Masai warrior stencil! I am a novice so it didn't come out as well as yours but I plan to keep trying. I now have all the stencils you used and plan to follow your video step by step. Thanks for the inspiration!

remember the block off pieces of plastic after printing have on their ink side enough ink left to print!
