Hey, I saw an ad for a thing called the cardio watch, it looks like a scam to me but idk check it out if you want. Edit: I found one article on it and it seems like the same thing www.glyphosatetaskforce.org/cardio-smart-watch-reviews/
While $50 for that knockoff is way too much, $4.50 doesn't sound that bad (only a little more expensive then a $3.95 "ESP32-S2-WROVER Module - 4 MB flash and 2 MB PSRAM" from Adafruit). Especially if you can get your hands on some development tools to program it with or find a way to connect add-ons (like better controls), granted I noticed that the usb-like connector only had two contacts but that one was only used for charging so maybe there's some unused pins that can be accessed once the case is opened..... I think I might look into that alibaba listing just to have something to mess with. I wonder how much memory it has, probably not that much....maybe in the low megabytes.
A few years ago, I bought a $10 "Smart watch" off Amazon. It was surprisingly usable for a $10 watch. Not meant to be a knockoff of anything in particular, it had Bluetooth to connect to a phone, WiFi, and even 3G cellular! Has a (very crappy) camera, too. The marketing-speak made it sound like it was Android based, but it definitely wasn't. For $10, it was worth it - but I see people regularly trying to sell them on my local Craigslist as "Android smart watch!" for $50.

Hey Ken, as always great video! You could do a video about the “indestructible drone”. A year ago these ads were everywhere, it calmed down in the beginning of 2020 but I recently saw them again on Facebook. They just use random footage of completely different drones to advertise their cheap mavic pro knock off. I think the drone is called xdronehd. Their ads and the purchase website are extremely similiar to the Blaux and Maxwatch one. Maybe you could team up with Joshua Bardwell or a similar drone youtuber. If you need any further research, I can compose a few things about it and send them to you.
"due to the hurricane in your area, your call can not be completed as dialed" is my all time favorite message encountered while navigating customer service menus.
I had a similar, but much thinner rectangular watch that had a similar UI and software, for $6 that I bought for testing to see if it's even half decent, and the BPM sensor was just 2 green strobe lights after I teared it apart and tried testing the BPM of the air, and it gave random numbers between 50-100 BPM
i'd like to see you test more of the "claims" on their website like the IP67 Water resistance they claim it has. Also, currently an S1 user, will finally be upgrading to an SE, WatchOS 6 makes the thing lag…
Yes, I'd like to try that, too, but then I risk the ability to return it undamaged. But honestly… I might just take the hit! Haha. It's only $50. The funny thing is that the back of the watch says "waterproof" but the manual says not to bathe with it or swim with it. x_x
This was a fun one to watch! I absolutely lost it when you did the little censored thing over your mouth and did "Kensored" instead! But yeah, these knockoff Apple Watches are just a joke. If anything, if you have the means to, the still available series 3 starts off at just under $200, and better yet, the SE for just under $300. I upgraded from the series 3 to an SE myself and have enjoyed the edge-to-edge display (even with going for the 40 after having a 42mm for the series 3 and the ones before that) and the quite amazing performance that it has. The solo loops are nice too!
I have a fake one like this.. for 3BHD in the store..and has an app with 5mllion plus download.. my broke on the third month but it does has all week battery life...
I have a degree in computer science. I tried my hand in just about everything but preferred software development. I retired as soon as the pandemic hit. I've been watching a lot of TH-cam. Stuck at home. I like your style and humor. Keep up the good work and I will keep watching. A satisfied subscriber.
I am super familiar with this knock off. I work for Geek Squad at Best Buy. I have had numerous people come in and ask for help setting them up. I advice every person to return it the second I see it. One client is a little older. He had us set his up and it was a huge pain. But he loved it so much that he bought his wife one too and had us also set that up. Something interesting you should try before you get rid of it: I remember it having an O2 sensor on it. I thought it was really interesting and wished the Apple Watch would get it. Here we are now. I wonder the accuracy of the O2 sensor in the knock off compared to the Apple Watch. I assume the one you have also has that. Looks just like the ones I have dealt with. This video was super interesting, thank you for the great video!
I gave up on smart watches when I had to charge them multiple times a week to make them work. If they would make a battery for a smart watch that would run for over a month on one charge, I would get one again.
so my gf got offered one of these in a "ambassador" program for free if she paid "the postage" about 20 or 30 bucks for a $4.50 watch haha. knew it was a scam but wasn't sure how. thanks for shedding the light
I've got an ID205L which is distributed by several companies. Had it for my birthday last year. It's a heck of a lot better than the MaxWatch, but is still no Apple Watch! Suffice to say, I now have a Series 6.
My man said inductive charging. I fell in love a little. Calling it “wireless charging” was the biggest marketing mistake. A worrisome number of people believe it requires *no wires*. Even for the inductive base. As a Fruit Stand™️ employee, it’s maddening. Rather than call it what it is, and taking a moment to educate, it was dumbed down too far 🤦 🖖💜
I got an apple watch look alike that was 10x better than the cheap knockoff for $30.00. It has a touch screen, side button, magnetic charger on back, higher res screen, and raise to wake for $20.00 less
Someone I help with computer stuff periodically bought one of these and asked me for help setting it up. He saw an ad for it on Facebook, and if you try to find actual legitimate reviews (video or text) you almost exclusively find obviously paid-for "is this a scam? no it's legit buy one now" type "reviews". I was able to pair it, and functionally it mostly works ok, except since he has an iPhone some of the stuff like Messages doesn't work (requires Android). The UI is terrible and the thing he had the most trouble with, since it only has that single button. The heartrate and O2 saturation and blood pressure stuff seem to be "accurate enough". The timeout on the display is only a few seconds, and it times out it goes back to the main screen. VERY annoying if you're trying to figure out the UI, or looking at the data after it has done a reading of some sort. The mobile app is a generic Chinese app that works with many similar fitness devices, and it's got some weird English in it, but it "works". It syncs notifications on iPhone but that's about it. Everything else is fitness-focused, and I don't believe it shares any of the fitness data with Apple's Health app.
i can recommand the amazfit gts 2 (or something like that). got it 1-2 years ago, used, for 80€ with spare parts, and it is super solid. i use it mainly for fitness tracking and waking up, but it has solid features and - most importantly - multiple days on the same charge. you could GPS+Glossnar track witht his watch for 3h a day and still the watch survives like 4-5 days. if you just use it like a watch, you can easily go 2 weeks without charging. in that regard i like this more than apples watches.
I have one of the latest generation Apple Watch SEs, and it's absolutely amazing. Ken is 100% right, if you want a smart watch and you use an iPhone, just get the Apple watch. I've tried other "smart watches" in the past and they're 100% disappointing every single time.
I still really enjoy my Pebble Time. The software hasn't been updated since the company was sold in 2016, but it still works flawlessly today. Has all the smart features I want and is entirely water resistant and has a battery life of about a week. Got mine for $30 too!
Bought the same device on amazon for 10€ and immediatly sent it back. Then bought one for 30€ with a much better screen, controls and overall better quality. Still i would recommend getting at least a used apple watch series 4. i have been using a apple watch for 1 year now and i wouldn‘t want to miss any of the features it has, it really has helped me with my workouts.
"If you want to sell the cheap and crappy product, just sell the cheap and crappy product!" Ken, how would they justify the rip-off price if they didn't lie ?!?
4.6 must be “scientifically proven” to not be low enough for someone to think it’s a bad product but also not high enough to see like fake 5 star reviews on face value. That’s all I can think of.
Been conned big time here! The first watch had instructions that didn't work but after TH-cam were fine until the watch strap broke! and there is nothing to replace it in the high jewellers. In it's defence it did measure Blood Pressure. So I went to a certain cheap store and bought a different watch. But......IT DOESNT MEASURE BLOOD PRESSURE. That's much more important than steps, and all that other exercise shit - I just need to check my BP to ensure my medication is correct! So watch 1 - wpb, watch 2 - eBay. More frickin expense I cannot afford!!!!
If people are really looking for a cheap watch that has decently good activity tracking and long battery like the Wyze watch is a good alternative and is cheaper that the watch features on this video. Sorry if this sounds like an ad but I really like this simple watch.
I had a max watch got it off wish, I knew it was crap, but I had to get one to see what it was like, the charging port in the wrist band was awful, after 3 days of pulling the wrist strap on and off it broke 🤣🤣🤣
Check out Scoot expo. Evertime you search electric scooter on Craigslist, they flood with advertising saying that they sell es4 but this is untrue as es4 has rear shocks and can be charged without the expansion battery. Mine also died 8 days after receiving and they a have a small 7 day window for returns.
I kinda forgot, but isn't a rating of 4.7 suspicious? I got an ad for a suspicious grout pen, and it had the scarcity discount, and when I went on the website to check the rating, it said 4.7 and it was trying to give me a discount already
You're indeed better off getting the 1st gen Apple Watch. Years, I mean, eons ago I bought my 1st gen Apple Watch. And you know what? It still works very well and I'm still very content. Even the battery life is still very good.
I do have a real Apple Watch SE(2) in silver grey with a white band. I liked the size of 40mm. I just really liked my SE(1) in space grey but, I accidentally have cracks the screen by dropping towards the floor in my bathroom. I also have a couple older ones series 1 & 2 that I bought them refurbished. One came in an original box and the other didn’t.
Hi Ken, Love the videos! You skipped a bit over the fakepods. Though this is rather clearly fake, there are a lot of people buying airpods for ‘normal prices’. I also come across second hand fake pods a lot, with people selling them as real. Maybe it is nice to concentrate on those scams. I think it may be the largest apple related scam at the moment.
I've started seeing ads on TH-cam for something called the FitTrack Scale. Some nameless guy shares his "unboxing" experience of the scale and it attempts to look like a genuine unboxing. It has all the hallmarks of the Lit Mobile "unboxing" ads and is very overproduced to be genuine.
@@ComputerClan I tried looking for the specific ad, but I can't seem to locate it via a TH-cam Search. If I end up finding it, I will send you the link, or do some kind of direct screen recording of it if I can.
Here’s your next cool video series. “ bankrupted tech” review tech products from companies that went bankrupt and don’t exist anymore. My first suggestion is Fanny Wang headphones.
I actually was thinking of doing something like that. I'm about to cover a rare product that actually sold! But then the company crowdfunded over a million dollars to make a new version of it, and… nothing happened. It's gonna be good.
Look at corsomotion lights. Sometimes the items arrives doa and their 1 year warranty is non existent even though they claim to provide it. Customer support sucks and it drags on forever. Months and months of conversation, and I still didn’t receive a replacement for a doa item.

I got an Apple Watch series 1 when the 2 came out. I’ve used it daily ever since and it’s still goin at it great!
What are they knock-off Fitbit's like? One of my old friends had a knock-off Charge 2, and I've sometimes seen them in Dollar Tree.
Even the battery life is still very good.
hey ken keep doing what your doing buddy it helps us the public in knowing the truth about the gadgets we buy
Love your videos Kenneth :) always loved cheap knockoffs , had a iPhone 3g knock-off , brilliant
Finally something that is from Lithuania

*”Which one?”*
Just saw your article on the cardio watch great episode we'll start watching you
Hi Ken,
Love the videos!
Interesting. Can you show me what video you say? I looked at a review on their TH-cam channel, but it doesn't seem overly produced or shady.
Never thought my country would get featured in a computer clan video
When you mentioned the Mactini i just HAD to look it up
Even tho I'm not an Apple guy I knew it's gotta be the one in the middle of the thumbnail
Look at corsomotion lights. Sometimes the items arrives doa and their 1 year warranty is non existent even though they claim to provide it. Customer support sucks and it drags on forever. Months and months of conversation, and I still didn’t receive a replacement for a doa item.
This seems like a slight reference to Max Box's Spot the Hacker series with the phrase "spot the fake" but maybe I'm reading too much into it
I love these vids keep it going!
I will!
