    I am not an Apple phone used but i was told that Apple has already admitted that they did in fact slow down access speeds in some of their iPhones and from what I have heard their were forced to fix this induced problem. They did something with the iPhone firmware that reduced the speed to prolong the battery life.

  • @GraySlicerAnimations

    That lawsuit joke was pretty good. I will say though, Apple definitely had that one coming due to them not being transparent about throttling the processors to stop iPhones from shutting down unexpectedly. I'd say in practice it seems like a good idea, however their execution, specifically their lack of transparency, is where they really screwed up.

      Quick Charge 3 is actually robust enough that always charging on a QC3 charger has no appreciable affect on battery lifespan in real world applications. Realistically speaking, if you avoid over-discharging, and if you aren't a overly-heavy user your phone will likely have another component fail purely due to age before the battery shows any appreciable wear. Over discharging is what kills modern phone batteries, not over-charging

      yeah, It gets old seeing people put factually substantiated and entirely reasonable claims on the same shelf as "moon landing fake tho" simply because they don't personally think it happened or it goes against mainstream narrative. Unfortunately though, how the word "conspiracy" is used ("I don't think this thing is true") has deviated quite far from the connotation it has. (a thing which is completely and unilaterally absurd and false with such high confidence you can reasonably ignore it)
      I mean, a few weeks ago (maybe months now) a political associate was found dead in a forest that he had no personal connection to, having "committed suicide" with a shotgun blast *_to the chest_* (not the mouth) AND, yes, AND, a noose around his neck, hanging from makeshift gallows that he supposedly went out of his way to get materials for and construct, using an extension cord as a noose. (so he got wood and shit for gallows, but couldnt be bothered to find a rope for a noose) And that's definitely a suicide, and if you say anything else you're a conspiracy theorist.

    • @JulianUccetta
      @JulianUccetta 2 ปีที่แล้ว +37

      Yeah, Ken is a bit of an Apple fanboy, and it's easy to tell when he just brushes planned obsolescence under the rug like it doesn't even exist. There's a reason people say "they don't make em like they used to" -- and this goes for most if not all manufacturers, not just Apple. Mobile phones are one of the worst for it, these companies make money selling you new phones every year, not selling you one phone for you to use for the next 10 years.

    A legit claim that would actually improve battery life would be that the charger is super slowly charging your phone overnight at like 2% per 10minutes ( 6*2 = 12% per hour, 8h of sleep *12% per hour = 96%). The last few percentages are being charged at normal speed the last half hour before you set your wake up alarm (or when you start using your phone before that alarm).

    "The updates are part of the planned obsolescence, causing your device to act up". This part is absolute truth.
    EDIT: To clarify, software updates will break your device's functionality when a company wants you to upgrade. This was started by Microsoft, and is now in place with many companies. Windows Millennium worked perfectly fine as long as it was never updates. Same with Vista. Android phones will remain fast as long as updates are disabled. Is your phone slow? Do a factory reset and do not allow internet access until you have shut down updates. It will be fast for years.

      It had other advantages beyond that as well in that it forced Apple into actually replacing the faulty batteries for free instead of charging and refunding those unfortunate enough to have paid when their phone was still under warranty. This wasn’t just a normal degradation issue, it was a fault that often occurred well within one year of ownership.
      I was lucky in that I know batteries and told the store manager that if he would put it in writing that the battery wasn’t bad after he saw the phone immediately power off, then I would pay and promptly sue. Unfortunately many people paid them the full price before this change not knowing better. If Apple didn’t make these changes you can bet the payout would of been a LOT more then $25.

    On the subject of planned obsolescence - it's important to note that while this product is obviously a plastic box full of lies, planned obsolescence is a very real thing that causes very real problems.
    Many companies(especially larger ones) have undesirable business practices such as PO, and they generally get away with it by distracting you with deceptive PR or a new shiny product. Apple and, to a smaller extent, Samsung are both guilty of it. That's why things like Right to Repair are so important - the more we let them get away with, the harder they squeeze our wallets.

There is a bulb that's been glowing continuously for over 100 yrs. I had to update my last galaxy phone because the updates made it so that the phone would not function. It would shut itself off randomly. My new phone updates constantly. It is a year old and I can't imagine that a year old tech be so far out of date that "updates" should affect it as much as this person says. I feel Samsung designed there phones to update themselves till they won't function anymore. Come on, this video is no better then the bolt-pro add. Yea, believing bolt-pro can do all those things is being totally gullible, but this video first off doesn't do much to solidly prove anything either. The idea that you 'tested it' with one single case, and a tone of assumptions is a lame way to 'prove' anything.
    Second this idea that apple did not do what the court case showed they did do, purposely release software to slow down old phones, right before new phones were to be released. Go read the discovery in the cases against apple to get an idea of how much evidence there is to support that charge. And so his little, "apple is my hero" routine in order to get apple favor is not proof again of anything.
    Any of your arguments would not hold up in court, or for any decent engineer they could point a thousand holes in the 'proof' you assume. I am not for bolt-pro, it clearly makes claims that are basically impossible to guarantee, so just because I am pointing the giant holes in this case you make against the boltpro charger, in no way means I believe the advertising around it. But I do not 'know 100%' they are lying, and neither do you, which is the entire problem. Your idea of 'proof' would make descartes cry...
