    I appreciate this walk through, I've just picked up a SWORKS 2020 frame to build up, it has the same flaked carbon look which is absolutely incredible, super stealth. Can't wait to get the bike built over the next month. Cheers.

    I recently built up a 22 S-Works EVO and coming from a regular Stumpjumper, I am super happy with it. The SJ was a livelier ride, but there just wasn’t enough travel.
    I built mine full XT w/ a Factory 36 and although I only have like 80 miles on mine, but I feel like I’ll be keeping this one for quite a few years.

    I have similar build with specialized evo limited with axs. What size your bike and stem length?

    • @mtb-mag
      @mtb-mag  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sounds like a sweet bike! I'm 6' tall and it's an S4. I run a 50mm stem, but I've played around with a 40mm as well. Maybe 45mm is the magic number though?

    Piecing together all the parts. Did you go 170 or 165mm crankarms?

    • @mtb-mag

      170mm - although, 165 sounds kind of fun!

      @@mtb-mag I figure with the low bb it might help?

  • @alexieportolos7659
    @alexieportolos7659 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The bike looks amazing you did a great job. I've got a 2021 evo also and was thinking about going to 170mm of travel in the front to avoid so many pedal strikes, do you think this would ruin the bike?

    • @mtb-mag
      @mtb-mag  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I don't think it would be the worst thing, but you may want to check with Specialized first. If you went that route, just avoid the extremes, such as the low bb setting in combination with the -1º headset cup. Maybe just try the high/neutral setting with a 170mm travel?

  • @TheDirthound
    @TheDirthound 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I'm going with 150mm front and rear, coiled suspension, Push to be exact. Do you think 150mm up front will effect performance? I'm coming off a 170enduro rig and want to get away from long travel sleds and think the factory 160/150 spec is splitting hairs.

    • @mtb-mag
      @mtb-mag  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That'd likely be a great all rounder. I hear the Push is incredible on this bike - really the only way to go coil on it in my opinion. 150 up front sounds cool...However, you could always just run 160mm and keep it on the firm side to preserve your geo.

    • @TheDirthound
      @TheDirthound 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mtb-mag I built it up 160/150 full carbon and adjusted the suspension to Push recommendations. Man that bike is a blast to ride, good peddling,flickable and DH worthy as well. It's like having two bikes in one. I'll never buy a long travel enduro sled again, the EVO does it all IMO.

    • @rguitarist
      @rguitarist ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TheDirthound How did you adjust according to Push recommendations, do you have to send them the shock and fork?

  • @jmsb53
    @jmsb53 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Wow, amazing build!
    I'm between swapping my frame for either a Bronson or a stumpy Evo (w/ mullet link). How do you think the two bikes compare for someone who wants only one bike to do it all?

    • @mtb-mag
      @mtb-mag  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Man...That really is a tough one. I think the suspension on the Bronson is slightly better than the SJEVO. But! The downtube storage and the massive range in adjustments on the SJEVO is very very huge if you only have one bike.

    • @mtb-mag
      @mtb-mag  ปีที่แล้ว

      As far as I know, because the headset has the adjustable option, I don't think you can swap it for something else.

    • @mtb-mag
      @mtb-mag  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yo! Thanks. I don't think the Zeb would be overkill. For me personally, I did try a 38 on this bike and went back to a 36 after a few rides. It was fine, but I wanted to try to keep the bike lighter and more tilted toward an all rounder. I would probably go Zeb over Lyrik but 36 over 38 with my reasoning being that the 36 is slightly beefier than a Lyrik. I'm not sure if that makes any sense, but it's my rationale. Ha!
