I can't remember exactly because I didn't read the X-books myself when it happened. But I think it was at some point in between Civil War and Secret Invasion because there was a comic cover where the two were kissing. When Mystique inevitably left in another act of betrayal as is usual for her, it resulted in a story where Wolverine hunted her down to kill her. Which failed though she tricked him into thinking he had killed her at the time.
I kept reading Marvel stuff until just after Dark Reign when all the changes and cancellations just pissed me off too much. Didn't read much X related stuff aside from X-23's book but I usually had a vague idea of what else was going on.

If a female character got the full on Solid Snake/Raiden torture scene treatment (complete with the appropriate attire or lack thereof), Polygon would likely skip straight past the protest phase and just lead an angry mob with torches and pitchforks to the gates of whatever game company dared to do such an awful thing to those lines of code.

Getting your ass kicked is one of the best things that can happen to you. It’s a forced taste of humble pie, it keeps your ego in check, and instills an appreciation for violence. When you understand how severe the consequences are for violence, it forces you to both workout and train so you can handle yourself, and it causes people to treat others with respect and generally be a better person in order to avoid it.
Unfortunately, with the State’s war on masculinity, from school to adulthood boys and men are punished for using violence (even if it wasn’t their choice), and now men are forced to avoid it but for the wrong reasons.
This has allowed the ‘beta’ to reign supreme. Because they can no longer face the real consequences that comes with acting like a shit head, these cowards can now act as toxic, passive aggressive, threatening violence despite being weak bitches, and do horribly egotistical shit things and get away with it, all because actual men are punished for using healthy masculine checks on bitch behavior.
Getting my ass kicked was one of the best things that happened to me. It taught me the importance of lifting, handling myself in fights both verbally and through martial skill, the importance to respect yourself and others, and the importance of acting like a good person. Unfortunately that’s toxic now, I should do the right thing and be a passive aggressive shit talker who will only make an aggressive move when I have a bunch of other cowards on my side and I outnumber my enemy.
Fuck this dying society, it’s weakness and promotion of the toxic and cowardly has permanently scarred society and it’s far too late to stymie this decline.

Son, these people have no understanding of context, nuance, nor what good writing is supposed accomplish. They will only see what they want to see and will make problems out of nothing if it makes them look good. Here's the thing: The demand for instant gratification as a strong trait in millenials is exactly why we see folks like Julie - and all the other writers at Polygon, Kotaku, Buzzfeed etc. - spill it out for us to be appalled at. The generations before Julie et al fought for freedoms - and freedom itself. At least that's what we all believed we were doing.
With maximum freedom achieved, Julie and her peers still managed to buy into the fairytale of oppression, thus welcoming the forever vampire of communism into their homes and their headspaces. You cannot build a state with these people. You cannot even build a piece of IKEA furniture. And you sure as hell can't let these people anywhere near guns, nukes or motorized machinery.
They are the cattle. They are the sheep. And they have this weird taste for blood. They want more sheep in the boardrooms. More sheep at the top. It's a creeping and creepy process. Once they're there, some of them do in fact realize that it would maybe have been useful to fill their heads with more than just propaganda and this endless rage for the structures that allowed them to become as successful as they are, despite their numerous shortcomings.

You were able to kill Dogmeat in FO3? Maybe I picked the wrong time to try this, but in the later stage of the game and at max level, I decided I wanted to try the "Puppies!" perk. I ended up using a mod to have multiple followers, and brought Fawkes, Charon and I think some robot, I equipped a Fat Man with two dozen mini-nukes, and led Dogmeat into the hallway of a library. I told him to stay, and went to the top of the staircase, and started unloading mini-nukes on him. This dog was invincible.. about 20 nukes, Fawkes, Charon and the other one, outfitted with plasma weapons and shotguns was dead, and Dogmeat, with 95% of his health ..came after *me!* I couldn't believe how tough that damn dog was.
