This is so true, I met a girl on Tinder over a decade ago (when I was looking) that was decently attractive on her profile. We had talked for almost a month and she kept telling me how much she likes me and how awesome I am. We met at the mall in Orland Park, IL and she gave me a hug and was holding my hand. I had a hand-me-down car at the time, and after someone hit me it had one body panel that was not the same color. After walking around the mall, we talked of finding a place to first eat, then some privacy after (for kissing or more). Everything was going well, she was obviously into me, and was hanging all over me.
We first walked to her van, which was a rusty Dodge and had two child chairs in it. It looked like it had multiple accidents and certainly in much worse shape than mine! Once she saw my car, her whole demeanor changed from fun and nice to reserved and rude. She then supposedly got a text from her mom that she had to get home because her child was sick. I was a little disappointed but understanding, drove her back to her van and she left.
I did not even make it home when I got a text from her, informing me that I should get my shit together and must be poor to drive a car like that, oh and that she already started talking to another guy! I should be lucky she gave me a chance but I deceived her into thinking I was a guy who had it all together (we never talked of what we drove and she told me how "non-materialistic she is" multiple times and during our short date.) It had lots of insults and cuss words, and my crime was being nice to her, paying for our date, and not having a brand new car. She was all over me until she saw my car, so it was not me.
1. Her van was in much worse shape than my car, was older than my car and looked barely safe to drive in. I never judged her on it, but she made her mind up I was not worthy of her when she saw my good condition, older car with just one front side with a different color. I must be poor because of my car, when in truth I did not want a car payment and my car still had low mileage and was decent. So my car signaled to her I am not worthy of her and not rich enough for her and her kids!
2. My profile was just made with a then-taken picture of exactly how I looked the day I started talking to her. Upon meeting her, she was heavier and older looking than her picture (but still attractive). So I was more honest and used a brand new picture of myself as my profile picture. Hers was obviously older and likely before she had her most recent child.
3. She had two kids with the usual saying every single mom on there says, "They are the most important part of my life, more important than you ever will be, they come first and you must accept them to be with me, blah blah." I was single with no kids ever. So I was to accept her beat up car and kids, yet my car was the "deal breaker"!
4. She had told me she was not materialistic, only wanted to be with someone who would like her for who she is and accept her kids. Yet, my material (car) was what made it okay for her to basically call me not a man, not worthy of her, and insult me while telling me she was already talking to another guy who she bragged drove a BMW and was obviously more of a man than me.
So in summary, I had to take her baggage, accept she used an older picture when she was in better shape and younger, accept her kids, pay for our date, and generally be thankful I even had a chance with her. The best thing is, I met my long-time girlfriend of nearly 7 years two days after meeting that thing. And she thought my car was cool! I ran into other women like her on Plenty of Fish and Yahoo chat before, all into you but want a 6' 2", tall guy with a large trust fund to accept their fatness, rudeness, obvious problems, and cater to their needs to be worthy.

My Tinder stories (in a town with population around 400k) after using it for 2-3 years:
- not even once girl/women sent me a message first
- 95% of profiles had only 1-2 photos and empty bio
- 90% of pics had massive amount of filters on them
- 80% were just garbage selfies from bathroom mirror
- after 1-2 messages stopped replying + deleted me from list
- it was always me who had to start conversation
- all of the girls/women never wanted to get to know each other as if those people did not cared at all
- 95% of women I met on the internet were lying to me, planning behind my back and trying to manipulate me (sadly for them, I have learned a lot fromy my past experiences)
I might not be fanstatic guy, but I do try my best to be a better person with each new day. However after 2 years of trying to find a partner I just said... "fuck this shit, I'm out and I have to stop caring for this shit". I have uninstalled Tinder couple months ago and since then I still don't give a fuck about this garbage.
