Thanks for the recipe i remember eating this in the boarding school OLASS ijebu-ode. Ive been wondering how to cook it. Please i noticed you didn't add crayfish, is there a reason why?
Oh! I know OLASS. I went to secondary school in Ijebu-ode too. Good to know. No reason at all, it’s not common to add crayfish. But of course you can add to your taste
I'm not Ijebu neither is my mum but somehow, my mum got the hang of making this soup and whenever she does make it, I'm always consuming it like say tomorrow no dey......funny thing is ordinarily, I don't like Egusi soup!
Hello. I accidentally came across your channel and was surprised and interested in some of your recipes. But I’m Russian, I use a translator, and some of the ingredients are not clear to me. At the end of this video, are you brewing some kind of cereal? What kind of cereal is this? And what kind of green sauce did you add to the plate?
Thank you so much. That’s not a cereal, it’s a dough made from cassava root flakes and hot water. We usually eat it with different types of soups. Alright we also have it (cassava flakes) like cereal with cold water. The green soup is made from jute leaves, a leafy vegetable.
@@remremdfoodie Thank you very much for your answer! So it's a root vegetable. After a little searching on the Internet, I found some tapioca on sale in my country, but I guess it's not the same... :) But I really enjoy your authentic recipes! Very interesting!

Look so yummy 😋😋😋 thanks for sharing
It’s a pleasure 😊
Thank you
That looks delicious.
Thank you very much 😊
Nice! Try to add ogiri ijebu and toss the egusi on frying pan.
Thank you very much for your input. I actually don’t like ogiri and roasting the egusi will interfere with the taste I aimed for
You are good maker of correct egusi Ijebu. Though, mackerel fish another perfect fish for egusi Ijebu
That’s absolutely correct. Especially if it’s smoked mackerel😩.
Thank you very much

The best outcome ive seen so far, but please what if i blend the egusi with crayfish, iru and my stockfish? Will its still come out lumpy?
Thank you very much. Yes. It will most likely come out lump because of the presence of salt in the ingredients you just mentioned.
You can blend those separately and add after the egusi has cooked on its own for some minutes
