I liked this game in general, but I hated the first officer and how she was the central focus for so much. That's my only complaint, the rest is stellar and I wish they still made games, especially Star Trek games, like this. It really captured the immersion for commanding a capital ship.
Well, that's because this game have silent protagonist, which is a strange choise, considering you play as the captain of a starship. So, the first officer had to do all conversations for the player.
@@Scorch0017 I imagine the idea was that the player will fill in his own lines in his own head-cannon. After all, the captain does communicate directly with the crew by setting the commands and having them executed. Though I agree the silent captain is a strange choice. I guess they had two obvious choices - make the player "just" a first officer, having the captain tell the player what to do and having him execute the orders, or put the player in the captain's seat. I suppose they went for the latter simply because they were worried players wouldn't accept being anything less than the head of the ship. Which is kind of sad, I think the storytelling would work much better if the player was indeed the first officer. Still a great game I replayed a couple of times, though.
It does on the exteriors, the shield effects, ships and weapons are greatl; just not the interiors. Faces today even are quite hard to do correctly and are generally the highest poly parts of a model.
The nostalgia of the QuickTime Paramount logo and the activision logo being blown apart by quantum torpedoes is my youth.
I love the beginning we’re caption Picard explains everything
Same! No offense but it also helps me sleep better 😅
I loved this game, I remember modding it so you would get cooler destruction sequences of the enemy ships like flickering lights etc.

In my opinion making Saffie captain would have been less annoying, but then I hate the silent protagonist concept. So :/
we need a remake with multiplayer and coop

1:17 - did they just stick some hair on the Picard model from ST Armada? 😂
wow this game oozes star trek.
What I like about this game, is that it nailed space capital ship combat.

What is the specs of your computer?
(if you don't mind me asking)
The game looks great!
Given it could play on a potato at this point I doubt it matters

Visually this games does not stand the test of time.

With the mods available for it, yes it does. It's getting long in the tooth though, but it's still the best Star Trek game ever made.
This is so confusing
99% of the game "sweeping through phaser arcs."
Nah, I mostly used it in the begining with easy enemies to showcase the action from the bridge view.
@@Scorch0017 no I remember it from when I played through it a long time ago.
