Love watching you guys. I'm from Akron, Ohio (USA) and I like seeing the cars that we didnt get or what we did get and see the difference in them. Thank god u guys aren't doing the supercar build bullsh/t, keeping it to what us normal folk can build..

the Fairlane is definitely one of my favourite Skid Factory builds, awesome to see it upgraded, and the Turbo choo-choo noises on the dyno are perfect ! :)
Love how quiet that is but still tons of V8 and turbo noises :)

How dare you!, how friggin dare you. Dissin the 30/70! That cam came to this country with the first fleet and got us through the early years of stripped fibre timing gears. That cam was the backbone of street racing in this country and i will not stand by idle while it gets treated like that! For shame sir! For shame!
30 and 70 make 100 so it really is the complete camshaft for all our needs.
After throwing an R154 into my 1UZ soarer and debating between a turbo or supercharger for the next big step, this is definitely swaying me in favour of that fantastic Stututututu. Hearing AL call the supra a poor mans soarer made me laugh too. Dream build right here!

I used to work for graysonline assessing the cars and every Challenger I had to do was smelly and broken.
I enjoyed every Terracan I assessed.

As an American, that entire discussion was an automotive history lesson. Never heard of either vehicle before today
@@kayak_homie I think the Terracan was called a Pony elsewhere. That name is way to weak for croc wrangling Aussies so they made up a name for here. Challengers were called Montero Sport in the US and probably SHogun or something silly in the UK.
My favourite Ford model and color with a well thought thru power train and execution - well presented guys as usual!
This is why having a fuel pressure sensor that feeds into the ECU's injector algorithm is so useful.

@@PunishedByRobots totally agree. In this case it was was an obvious fix. However FPR's are no where near as linear as people think. So having an ecu that can adjust on the fly to changes in pressure makes life much easier.
for some reason Al always has fuel issues with the cars he builds. it boggles my mind he hasnt learnt from this. dead head systems on boosted engines are BAD. ok for NA engines as you have low pressure and its constant (pretty much)
running the regulator with a massive long vacuum hose for the reference.. sooo bad again he does it on every engine. then at the end he says he has to re do it.......
Very beautiful 4 door Fairlane brother and that Cammed 4.0L Toyota 1UZFE V8 sounds bad to the bone. Almost sounds like a cammed 351 Cleveland V8.

to me, it sounds like it needs the valves re-adjusted. I like the Blue , seems like a good Canyon Flier in the outback.
I thought there's an odd tapping at higher revs... but no idea if its normal for that engine.
Fairlane rocks up at the hub dyno. Move the halves 1m further apart!

Remember! An F16 runs out of fuel before it will ever run out of top end! Really is a beauty that car. I had a Fairlane 500 with a 429 in it. NA no boost about 250hp. Absolute pig of a car with 4 wheel drums. Braking was aspirational at best. I sold it to a classmate with a death wish for $600usd (1978).

Product r and d of the intake has made this that much more interesting. Curious to see if The Hoff gets one and uses it on his channel
He wants to but is being soft about bonnet clearance. I found a Windsor side mount top that bolts on, he may use that.
Ordered my melted hole saw tee and a few other things! Love the show!
I do love a bit of technology compared to the old LS boat anchor.
Oh, and get Dave to sort out the panel alignment on the drivers side. Made my OCD go off good n proper.

May wanna re-fab that throttle bracket as the cable goes on a hetic angle on WOT, may cause the cable to eventually wear through and snap. Not fun if he's on a track and that happens.

I'm going to rebuild the heads on my 2UZ 4.7L in my 100 Land Cruiser. What would make more torque down low in your opinion; standard valves or +1mm oversized valves? N/A with Kelford 208-B cams and springs.

did you guys ever test that plenum on a stock motor with/without boost or did i miss that video somewhere? i'm planning on buying the plenum for SC400 when i boost it.

After the run in oil, drive / dyno / ride it like you stole it. Give it heaps. Keep the pressure on the bores from the rings.
