Half-Life Alyx is the game changer for VR. Anyone missing out on this... is missing out! It's seriously incredible. Glad you tried it first hand. A person cannot have a clue about what VR is about until trying it one's self.
I have a short tale to tell. I graduated in aeronautical science in 2002 and got my pilots license in that same year. I flown almost 200 hrs until the crisis of 2008 came and crashed hard on my country (Brazil) ending my flying days. Since then I've work on many different things but never forgot the thrill of flying. Moved to Germany a couple of years ago, and got a headset just last year. The first time I got in to that cockpit with my VR HMD, I've got to confess. I cried. The feeling of flying again was the best thing that ever happened to me in a very very long time! So, yeah, I know exactly what you and your BF are talking about experiencing to know, and the implications of this technology going in to the future. P.S.: Love what you guys do! Keep then coming!
Wow, first video i see from you and this is too good to look at only one vid. You have real writing skills. That was funny to look and interesting to listen :)

Keep up the fantastic work you guys!
$250? The headset alone is $500. It's $1000 for the entire kit, and you WILL need the entire kit. Even after all that, you're still tethered with a cord, and I can tell you from experience that thing constantly gets in the way and immediately breaks immersion.
@@jtrimble18 use an overhead pulley system connected to the ceiling to get the cord out of the way. don't want holes in your ceiling? use suction cup attachments instead of screws. they're not holding that much weight anyway.
Loopyprawn I played half life Alyx completly wireless on the oculus quest using virtual desktop wlan streaming without noticing any latency. You don’t have to use an 1000$ index. The quest is 399,- btw.
i love the index and alyx, it was so cool beiong able to pick ANYTHING up like thats so cool, and you can grab stuff where youre actually trying to grab and being able to crush a can, break a bottle pot and more
Seriously. A Quest is the console, TV, everything you need to play. It's much cheaper than say a PS5 + TV would be. Anyway the Quest has been sold out for most of the past year, so people are waking up.
They bought an Index to play Alyx. Also, you need a serious PC to play Alyx properly, even with a Rift S (or Quest with link and mods) you'll be spending well over a thousand to stably play at medium to high settings (I spent 3 thousand cause laptop). Been VR'ing for over a year and frame dips plus head rotation in a shooter with full spacial movement equals incredibly nausea and cold sweats.
@@lsevent I bought a gaming laptop just for half life Alyx early this year paid 1200€ for a rtx 2070 (no max q) and i7 9750h. Runs Alyx completly fine. What did you bought for 3k lol?

The memes and editing are on point and the way Shelby segues into the ad is very cute.
Early to the vid just wanna let you know that I love you guys and your channel so much y’all are a massive comfort and your channel inspires me I love you once again ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ pursue your dreams
you guys do such a good job illustrating themes through your editing. wow.
The last time I was this early at something my girlfriend left me for another
So good!!! What a review.
Even your intro to squarespace at the end was impressive 😅
Half-Life Alyx is the game changer for VR. Anyone missing out on this... is missing out! It's seriously incredible. Glad you tried it first hand. A person cannot have a clue about what VR is about until trying it one's self.
Strongly think you should hire Internet Historian to do your ads, he’s a master at them
Wow. I have never considered getting a VR setup, that is until I saw this video. Great video!
You are about 5 years late, but never too late to join VR!
We still need a full Version of the todd howard Song (attempt 4)
god damn...i never subscribed faster... the timing and the comedic flow is flawless :D

So glad I've found this channel during quarantine
I always love a good “They Live” reference.
Wow, first video i see from you and this is too good to look at only one vid. You have real writing skills. That was funny to look and interesting to listen :)
2:52 nice lonely island reference
I'm just here to suggest a GR of Days Gone. I spent the last month playing that game and by the end of it my lady was just as enthralled with the world as I was. TERRIFIED. But enthralled nonetheless. Love what you guys are doing as a whole, it's definitely brought us closer as a couple AND has brought her deeper into my world as the gamer of the household lol. Keep up the fantastic work you guys!
I've got my pcvr headset coming next week just to get a taste of this
3:45 They Live!
Now THAT movie could do with a VR spin-off!
The cost of entry is about 250$ which is fine imo, for me the real problem is finding a big enough room for it!
@@jtrimble18 You don't need a Valve Index to play HL:Alyx, a WMR headset from Samsung or lenovo is a perfectly sound investment for vr
Loopyprawn
I played half life Alyx completly wireless on the oculus quest using virtual desktop wlan streaming without noticing any latency. You don’t have to use an 1000$ index. The quest is 399,- btw.
@@jtrimble18 you don't need an index tho
i love the index and alyx, it was so cool beiong able to pick ANYTHING up like thats so cool, and you can grab stuff where youre actually trying to grab and being able to crush a can, break a bottle pot and more
Hold up a minute the guy in the beginning who pulled up his shirt.
That transition into the Squarespace ad was hella smooth!
When will people understand that vr is the exact same amount of money as a new console? Rift s and quest are 400. Vr isn't that expensive.
thank you!
@@lsevent
I bought a gaming laptop just for half life Alyx early this year paid 1200€ for a rtx 2070 (no max q) and i7 9750h. Runs Alyx completly fine. What did you bought for 3k lol?
I'll be honest, I love my Oculus Quest 2, enough to even make a fake Facebook account.
Everyone's a bit of a Jerry at first. 🤪
and most of us are always Jerrys without knowing about it
@@MarkFilipAnthony Honestly, there's a kind of paradox in the fact that not knowing one is a Jerry is part of being a Jerry.
