In GTSport when you capped the PS4 Pro to 1080p you also got 60fps replay and per pixel motion blur during gameplay. Is that also possible in 7? Because when the PS4 Pro was set to 4K res you couldnt enter that mode.
He said in this video that the Pro has only one mode - 1800p60, 30 fps replays, no motion blur. I'm kinda disappointed beacuse this motion blur improves the sense of speed and makes the game look smoother but it's not a deal breaker

I'm getting occasional frame rate drops in either RT mode or Frame Rate mode... It's really annoying and happening on all circuits. Hope PD fixes this soon!! (I'm on PS5)
@ICEYOU because of PS5, games for PS4 specifically are stopped and compressed just to run in it. Ps4 can RDR2 upto 60fps and bloodborne upto 60fps ( JB Ps4) It tells that ps4 has the power of running games upto 50-40fps at 1080p for just 300$, and 900p smooth 60fps. But now developers don't focus on ps4 and games like dl2, which can't even run 30fps smooth on 720p is a proof to it.
Is there ray tracing in scapes mode on ps4? Not real time I'd assume, but is ray tracing added in, like 'post processing', similar to how motion blur is added after the photo has been taken according to shutter speed etc.

Absolutely love this game so far. Having a great time with it. Done about half of the cafe missions, all of the licences, and the first set of side missions. All of which have been really well laid out and the gold benchmarks on all the missions are really well set to really bring out your driving ability. Some of them are really tight on timings.
It's 2022 and this just reinforces my opinion that with games launching on PS4 such as GT7 and Horizon, there's no need to upgrade to a PS5 whatsoever. I'll buy the PS5 when a slim version comes out with a better price and games stop launching on the PS4.

Kinda funny watching the ps5 graphics on the green mini showcase how they look slightly better for way worse performance then the ps4 you can see it shuttering so bad when it’s panning across the interior.
I m having mixed feelings. The cars look INCREDIBLE but the environment and all the other things look mediocre like the game is a Frankenstein with ps3 and ps5 graphics :(
And most people suddenly asked for it as if it was critical to their gaming experience when it wasn't ever before. People jump on trends and then judge games based on 'tech reviews' that have the time freeze frame and nitpick on things you'd normally wouldn't notice while playing. Don't get me wrong: from a technical standpoint it is fascinating to see how much can be squeezed out of these engines in a fraction of a second, but find ridiculous some act like without Raytracing their gameplay experience is ruined. Saw several people complaining that in this game ray traced reflections don't work during gameplay as if, while racing, they were focusing on surface reflections instead of not crashing.
Now imagine if this game was single platform.. with a bespoke proprietary PS5 engine with permission from Car manufacturers for vehicle damage, tyre blow-outs, and Cars that actually skid out and roll realistically when they contact each other at high speed, we would have something outside of the uncanny valley we have today.
You have to wait for another 2-3 yrs for that. Usually the time all developers have fully grasped the power of the console, transitioned fully to current gen, and the better version of said console also already out.
You know that most poeple here are watching this to see how theyre ps4 will look on gt7, so spending half of the video talking about how it runs on the ps5 is literally useless cause everyone knows it will run just fine
There can be ray tracing everywhere apart from gameplay(no mode allow RT in gameplay) depending on which mode you use but when RT is active its 30fps or below. you can set replays to 60fps but without RT.

60fps but ray-tracing is not activated during gameplay, only during replays or photomode. Basically thoses gfx modes are not for actual gameplay but for replays, gameplay always aims for 60fps, replays aim for 30fps with RT or 60fps without RT.
my main problem with these types of games is that there is no real sense of speed. They focus on graphics more than making the car look like its actually going the speed it is.
It's incredible that Sony is keeping the PS4 alive with this game like they did with PS3 by releasing The Last of Us. This might be one of the last AAA games that is coming to PS4 but now what a time to be alive
My favorite thing about ray tracing is okay when you look really hard right in this exact spot you can see it. It's still just a gimmick. We are 5 years away from this being a thing.
That's all fine and dandy but the track loading time was a lie. The PS5 had a track that was like 40% smaller than the ones that loaded up on the PS4 andPS4 pro.
Glad to hear those who aren't able to yet get a PS5 are still able to play a beautiful game on PS4 Pro/base and still have an awesome experience!

Yes and that feeling magnifies after watching Forza Horizon 5. GT7 at its BEST looks exactly like GT Sport.
Digital Foundry put it pretty well, that there are elements that look nearly photorealistic, but that makes the shortcomings really stick out.
Why we cant get 1080p 60fps and ray tracing like in dmc5? All gamea should have that option.

Because replays are rendered in real time, you can change the camera, target car, pause and fast forward/backwards

gameplay is always 60 and never raytracing. that is only a "replay" option.
60fps but ray-tracing is not activated during gameplay, only during replays or photomode.
Basically thoses gfx modes are not for actual gameplay but for replays, gameplay always aims for 60fps, replays aim for 30fps with RT or 60fps without RT.
my main problem with these types of games is that there is no real sense of speed. They focus on graphics more than making the car look like its actually going the speed it is.
Can you play with the controller or need a wheel?
Playing on a controller plays just fine. Very accessible to beginners and veterans.
they should definitely have a 120hz 1080p option

It's incredible that Sony is keeping the PS4 alive with this game like they did with PS3 by releasing The Last of Us. This might be one of the last AAA games that is coming to PS4 but now what a time to be alive
At this rate we might have to wait till ps6 to get ps5 games.

My favorite thing about ray tracing is okay when you look really hard right in this exact spot you can see it. It's still just a gimmick. We are 5 years away from this being a thing.
The ray tracing that really changes things is global ilumination ray tracing, and that one is way too expensive for nowday consoles
Yeah on consoles that's true, on pc with other games it's a different story altogether, definitely not just a gimmick

That's all fine and dandy but the track loading time was a lie. The PS5 had a track that was like 40% smaller than the ones that loaded up on the PS4 andPS4 pro.

It feels and looks the same as gt6 in some ways but overall should be a excellent game and a improvement since it’s on ps5
