If you charge, you HAVE to write down how much you charge and pay it off pronto. Do not wait until the end of the month - pay as soon as it posts and you'll never get behind. If you do that, credit cards can work to your advantage with special deals, perks, and points. But it's lethal to lose track.

I pay the lady who cleans my three bedroom 2 bath modest size house $125 and she does two houses a day. That's $1,000 a month. She can do shopping errands and other tasks for Seniors. I have lots of other ideas. Sometimes in life you do what you have to do. My mother had 4 children in 5 1/2 years and always worked outside the home.

As I've pointed out repeatedly, death is emotionally devastating, but can be covered by life insurance. Disability, a serious unknown medical condition in the future, and sudden loss of the job of the breadwinner are all reasons to be sure that women should have at least a part-time job to contribute financially to the family financial situation! It's a lot easier to get a good job if a wife has to if she already has a part-time job and work experience. It's not just the money, it's the connections that a part-time job brings.
These people with low six figure incomes are spending like they have twice their actual incomes. Of course, it can be even worse at any income level, but it seems like at this range there is more of that "keeping up with the Joneses" mentality.

That presumes a person only marries for money. There are actually quite a few jobs that pay only $35,000 a year - and their problem is NOT their income - it's her spending.

It didn't matter to me how much money the guy had/made...what mattered to me was his character. I did NOT end up marrying one of those multimillionaires. I married a middle income earner and we've been married for over 30 years. I hope there are still some women like that. I know of one...my oldest son's fiancee.
