Hey! Just want to say I finally preordered Dolmenwood, I didn't realize I'd instantly get access to the PDFs. They're awesome!!! Thanks for opening my eyes to this weird, fantastical world!
Hopefully not a spoiler…. But I must again observe how incredibly refreshing it is to see a game with a “referee” and not a “storyteller”. There are no railroad tracks anywhere in sight and I’m here for it.
I've thought that quest to give Lady Alexia the Regalia would more or less be the final thing before they end the AV campaign, retire the living characters, and move onto something else entirely. I'm hoping that's a long way off though. Excited for what is ultimately decided for next week. I always appreciate Jon giving them rope, and it being immediately taken up. I like the idea of the guys getting dislodged from the factions they are comfy with, and having to delve deeper for one reason or another.
Going to go out on a cliff and guess that David is a climber. Brother Lothar says, "We're going to find the rest of them to, just so you know. We're really good at this" and by that last line I think he means getting heroes killed?
No Jost. No Av. No Njall. No sight for Mort. Delve 5 off to a depressing start. I do wish Njall took Avs corpse with him into the depths. To either die alongside his friend or find a way to bring him back(as an npc).
And what about the dragon that just so happens to want your entire party to suffer the worst possible death? Maybe he won't see ya the moment you show your faces above ground! 😂 Edit: although the fire portal+rug combo might work 🤔
Spoilers: No more Teutonic boasts, for it seems Jost with the most is toast from the ghost* ☹ And so soon after the Frater roast... (I hope you enjoyed this post) *Forgive me, but I couldn't think of a way to make "mummy" rhyme.
I would give the stuff to alexia. Mainly because this Quest to get the regalia is kind of the first they have taken, but also they take the thing out of influence of all the powers inside the dungeon. But i am happy that i do not have to decide. That ist why i like to be a DM…
What an action packed episode gents! Time to get a faction under your banner and lead conquest to the Halls! Jon, I have been running a single player game of AV with a buddy, how do you keep track of all the factions and stuff 😵💫??
Just want to throw out guys, that you give Alexia the stuff, ask for her to build you one really nice base down at the bottom of the falls. Isn't there a tower down there with that ghost?
I thought the pool (3-10) had a 50% chance of curing disease? (I’m interrupting my listening to post this so apologies if this is resolved later in episode)
Spoiler . Disease: Anyone hit contracts a horrible rotting disease. Magical healing is ineffective; natural healing is ten times slower. The disease can only be removed by magic. This is from OSE online. This mummy was more powerful that a standard mummy. Jon did make the right call. Jost 😢🫶🏻 #kingmort
Jon have you ever considered more fast paced combat? where you don't allow too much table talk but people actually have to respond like it's happening in the moment, more or less. not a complaint or suggestion really. I'm more just curious to see how that'd look at your table
Because we run theater of the mind, it is extremely important to ask questions constantly during combat, so you can assess your tactical options when death is on the line. In addition, side-based initiative encourages discussion between the players on a per round basis to maximize the effectiveness of their tactics. The trade-off between increased creativity / problem-solving vs. the tactical mini-game of grid-based combat and individual initiative is more than worth the time, in my opinion.
I like to imagine Mort always facing 30 degrees away from whoever he's addressing from now on.

Wow! First Avericios, then Jost, and then Njal! It's the end of an era. Can't wait for Mort to become a blind oracle, though.

3d6 Down The Hatch is a great name for this event
Delve 5!!! Let's goooo!! Both sad and exciting start to the new season!
I can't believe that the idea of Lisbeth reincarnating Av only got a throwaway comment! You gotta bring him back!
And Gorand's poo pile at the turtle finally goes dark.
Deep cut.
A painful, deep cut. 😂
@@mattavaricios4679 my only regret is that Av outlived Gorend

If the title was anymore cryptic, you'd be a wraith.
Great episode! Many options are available now, I hope the players avoid analysis paralysis and keep the best stuff for themselves.
Thanks!
And thank you for the support! 🫶
I caught that true detective season 1 reference Jon. Love it. Best DM *and* has good taste in shows? Damn
I'd be heading to Gosterwick and getting some raise dead and cure blindness...losing 5+ level characters is tough.
Absolutely!

I’d swear John just said “the most criminally under washed”….maybe some of that latest haul of gold could buy some soap and deodorant?

Calendar is king!
Av, Jost, dead; Njal gone; Mort blind; Lothar with the mummy rot. Not the best start to a delve.
She went up!...maybe...
Neferet is seriously one of the strongest enemies in the entire game. NOT a mid-level adversary! Well done on at least a few of you getting out alive.
Mike, nooooooo ❤😂

Losing Jost like that is pretty gutting - especially so hot on the heals of Av. With Niall leaving too, truly a dark day.

I think mummy rot is a curse not a disease unfortunately
@@ivanbird372 Ahh that makes sense then! I will have to refresh myself on the rules!
Spoiler
Jost was an NpC who hit 0 HP and Jon adhered to the rules. It sucks and I loved him as a NPC but I applaud Jon for making the call.

What separates one "delve" from another? Is it just a story-based climactic moment that acts as a big close of a "chapter," so to speak?
Yep, you got it
Underwashed?
