I could watch the AV club till the end of time, but all things must end and I’m excited to hear you all talk about choosing your ending. I almost feel like that topic should be discussed with any players who are used to linear/rails play.
Watching the campaign, the most interesting thing for me has always been the history of this mega dungeon. What are the final trials of Arden, was Vul just Arden's faceless companion or something more, what caused the massive explosion and the chasm, who are the aliens and the lizard people? The moment that the players are able to write up a rough timeline of the most significant events of this mega dungeon would be the most satisfying moment of victory for me as a viewer. However, I understand that as players, their most satisfying ending might be more character-focused. Level ten would be an achievement in itself!
Would be happy with a spaceship flying away as the conclusion, or a spaceship trying to fly away and smashing into the valley floor, but would really like to see what the deal is with the Obsidian Gates first. I've got the pdf's, but want to experience it in "real-time" with the boys if possible.
For every supporter, there is likely a loose thread that will not get wrapped satisfactorily for that person. It will be that way now, and would be that same way if we kept playing for another 2 years. It’s just the nature of the megadungeon; it would take probably close to a decade of real time to explore everything, probably longer.
I would, too! But honestly, I get the feeling that the Obsidian Gates might be one of the most difficult "endings" to achieve. I feel it's more of an aspirational goal, something that will leave all but the luckiest players wondering, "We finished our Arden Vul campaign ... but what was behind the Obsidian Gates...?"
@@3D6DTL I completely agree, and have no expectations to be met. The Obsidian Gates have been such a consistent topic they run across, it's piqued my interest significantly. As you point out though, there is so much in AV, and none of it is shallow, that it would likely take a few months of episodes focusing on one line of inquiry to fully get through it. I am curious where they put their focus, if they don't want to end it with the spaceships.
@@felswoop60 From what little other reading I've done on it, I would agree. I've read a few summaries on campaigns from other GMs, and they all seem to mention it. It may just be one of the larger areas that lore is spread all over the dungeon. Regardless, I'm along for the ride!
Given the loose threads with the LRCP and the goblin king. I really hope that Mort the king reviver of Thothian faith ruler of Beastmen and Goblins is the end focus. Though spaceship blasting out of a big toe is cool too.
Watching the session I was thinking, They talked about finding an alien spacecraft and that being the end of the campaign. We're really close to that ending now. Will they make it to session 100? Find out next time, on 3d6 Down The Line!
It blows my mind that you’re talking campaign end with so little of AV discovered. I hope that it’s retire AV Club and start a new expedition company without the baggage but with the consequences of the AV Club’s presence. Either that or Dolmenwood.
“Little of AV discovered” comprises over two years of continuous play in real time. All things must end. If we played for another two years, “little of AV discovered” would still be something that could be leveled at us. AV has not been given short shrift.
Would love to see an equally long play of Dolmenwood. Feels like they just got started there when it ended. Level 2-3 characters. However it does seem like Arden Vul is not at any natural ending yet and it could easily be another fifty episodes to get there.
You guys better get to at least episode 100! Triple digits is the way to be!

"dogfight the dragon" ftw
Nooooooooo! Last delve begins - not listening, not listening, not listening.
Do they mean one more season or episode? Please be season.
Though I get it, they're legends that have delved deeply and well.

Solving the mysteries enough to put together such a timeline would take a lot more playtime, but I agree that it would be an amazing end.
Ted, 100% cod piece! Afterall, goblins must populate everywhere!
Love to see the relief that they (for now) survived this encounter
I was thinking it might be a tpk from the 'beavers'
Jon, much respect for making this gargantuan dungeon work.
Can't wait to see what the next project would be.

Stonehell time?🤣
Great Detox! My vote is for her foot just to east of the Falls and West of the Long Stair. Boring I know but I am an accountant...

@ I’m not suggesting that at all. It’s a compliment to the accomplishment that is AV, not a slight on the group. Sorry if it came off that way.
No worries; you know we love you! 💕
@@3D6DTL sooooo much love. you going to garycon this year again?
