Just a quick one today guys as I've been absolutely flat out over here. Another kilo closer to the goal and I can't wait to get a bit closer so I can get that 529 kg motor from the 1930s that I showed a sneak peak of 2 weeks ago . All the usual bits and pieces and one of my Prettiest bars to date. Now sit back relax and enjoy today's video but most importantly have an awesome weekend👊🏻😁

@@entity9742 You'll be waiting a good long time. His furnaces can barely melt miniscule amounts of steel. Those things are MADE of steel, so can't handle the temperatures to melt it in significant quantities. You'd need a brick lined furnace, as stone is far higher melting temperature than steel.

22:00 - The shine looks like it comes from the nickel content (the nickel coating on top of copper terminals). I believe most audio connectors are copper underneath with different coatings on top (tin, brass, nickel, silver, gold). I didn't notice any gold- or silver-plated ones in the bin, just the cheaper nickel-plated ones.

Another thing to note, is never pour copper ONTO ice, just a plain block of it, it'll cause a massive steam explosion. There was a guy I used to watch that melted like a kilo of copper and dumped it on stuff; he poured it onto a block of ice and it exploded and sprayed molten copper everywhere. Also, never pour aluminum into a cavity in ice, TKOR did it (from a safe distance) and it exploded too.

They are unfortunately mostly made of aluminum. It is cheap and does not oxidize. The cheap rca's are AI primary. The color is the copper. AI primary copper alloys come out that yellow color. The small amounts of solder, that which doesn't become dross, is negligible.@@SeanBZA

Not a long-time viewer, but I'm surprised you just melted that stuff down without knowing what metal was in it. I'm getting close to starting my own melty metal hobby, and I wouldn't want to accept making alloy bars like that..
Then again, I guess there's no real way to identify or accurately separate the metals from stuff like that without some slightly beefy chemistry equipment.
I may not watch your channel often, but your videos have always inspired me to want to start making my own ingots.. And I finally have the setup and material to do it.

@MattExzy if you mean the iec plug ends, those are generally brass alloy. Though, that means there could be several metals to choose from. Including, but not limited to, tin, aluminum, lead, zinc, nickel, and more. As well as any combination of. Plus, some non-metals like zirconium, phosphorus, and arsenic. After all, we do have crystalline yttrium aluminum garnets.

Love the way your bar shined up, but have to admit that I was a little disappointed that we didn't get a search and discovery of a Bigsnack.

That copper steel hybrid reminds me of when Homer loses weight and ties all his loose skin behind his back with clips. They look so amazingly beautiful from one side and then you turn them over 😂

Might be a little bit of gold in some of it. My favorite bits are the puppers, and when you drop a brick on the ice blocks! I also like when you take a beer break. It feels like I take one with you also, so CHEERS!

It was interesting to see the difference in viscosity of the copper-steel alloy from just pure copper. That stuff poured like engine oil.

🇳🇴Fun video. Thats a lot of work, cleaning those plugs. Could there be gold or Silver in those?
And one 🥾 in the 🗑. Not bad. The other made quite a mess.
Been awhile since you made some coins...must keep adding to that chest...

Thanks for posting the aftermath video. I was sure that bucket had disintegrated but it looks to have been the source of the slice on his left leg. I don't get why he would wear all of that protective gear, but still wear shorts. I would have had a much heavier apron. Those boot they wear in iron works with the external tongue to protect you from slag and at least jeans and FR coveralls. He had goggles but no face shield. I wore both when i was washing parts in a solvent bath. That mirror finish you put on the mystery bar was amazing! I did catch the reflection of the clown mask. Hebe nice touch.

I've been into electronics since I was as child, and I am very familiar with cutting into those RCA connectors, audio connectors and those PC-power-cable ends. I thought at first you were going to burn all that plastic and other insulating material off, because taking each one apart individually is a job and a half! But your attention to detail, skill at video-making, and discipline made it look easy. And the result is nothing short of amazing!
