Hey bigstackD ! Nice video 👍 Happy New year ! Big fan 😎 I am so looking forward to get a place to melt stuff. I'm currently into e-waste refining. Waiting on summer to start processing over 400g of those silver contact ( clean ones / no extra metal ) Some of them are full silver alloy 80% silver and some are silver plated copper. I get them from remote car starter relays where I work. All those little black box you kept all this time will contain either silver or gold contact. The way I process them is by making a solution of 3:1 ratio of muriatic acid ( HCL 31% ) and hydrogen peroxide and let them in the solution for a couples of weeks. This will not dissolve the silver alloy but it will remove the base metal. You can then smelt it and get a bar of 80% silver. I really suggest you clean them contacts first by removing the copper / brass or nickel part that hold them in place either with a pair of cutter or melt the industrial glue with a blowtorch to remove excess metal prior to acid process. This will considerably reduce the amount of acid needed. Also, when the acid bath is done you can stick a piece of iron in it and it will precipitate the copper back 🤤 Hope it helps !!! 😎👍 If you need additional information just ask and there's also some big guys on yt that do this all day long ! They know alot on the subject.
For stuff plated with silver and gold, you gotta make some considerations. The best method is to use acids to either attack the silver/gold or attack only the base metals. If you attack the base metals, it will take a while but you can then get a suspension of silver particles which you can clean and melt down. if you take the silver out by using an acid to attack it, then you get rid of the suspended junk, do some chemistry to precipitate the silver out of the acid, then wash and refine. Either way, the answer is chemistry. Look up a few tutorials. Nile Red and Cody's Lab both have done this stuff in the past.
Bruv he melts, smashes and polishes. You think he wants to play around with concentrated nitric and hydrochloric acid? He has no equipment, no chemicals no glassware nothing

Watched the entire video and I learn something new each time
You might find use from streetips. His videos are long and boring at times, but he showsmany different processes for extracting gold, silver and copper from other metals.
Long yes, but we disagree on boring.
@Bert Veening boring at times. Not always :)
Something about metal recycling that resonate well and is enjoyable to watch. An extra bonus was the nice "treasure" room"! Cheers
I like how this man acts like torx security sockets are expensive lol
tamper proof torx at that!!! less than $40 au for a semi decent set!!!
I love how well you care and love for your pugs. I had a pug once and best decision I ever had on getting one. They are quite awesome and lovable dogs and very loyal.
Each time i watch the end of your videos and you show the treasure room with that cartoon filter, i always think " you should have a dragon guarding the treasure " -- Happy New Year for you and your family (including the pooches ).
BigScaleD!
He does have a dragon guarding it. You see him at 19:50
Plot twist: BigStackD IS the dragon guarding the treasure 👀
Safety screws are the biggest enemy of the scrapping world! 😆
One can purchase a safety screw tip kit at a local hardware or trades store. Stay Stacked!
for that screw that looks strange there is a simple way to unscrew it
just use a flathead screwdriver
sound strange but it works
Cheers bro what a great video. I couldn't stop watching.
Missed the part of how much it was worth it.
over 40 minutes and I did not fall asleep. Maybe because I was waiting for the boys, maybe because I liked your engineering hammer technique but most likely because of all the hidden treasures all over the place. Including the Subway sandwich. Loved every minute and I hope you have a great 2023.
i'm really curious with what you gonna do with all that metal once you reach 1 ton. you sell it? you make money with it? is it really worth it? i`m gessing at this point you're making more money showing all the process on youtube but i believe many of us that watches your videos might be curious if they can do something like this and make some moneys, cheers bruh
Congratulations with New Year! We are waiting 1 tonn of metal in 2023) Поздравляю, коллега!
How much was that copper bar worth. Wow big bar
About $94 as of the day of the release of the video.
I hate those screws too. They're called security screws, safety screws or tamper proof screws. It's dumb because you can just buy the drill bits for them at any hardware store. But I guess not everyone has them in their tool box so I guess they serve their purpose... They're usually used in commercial things that are in public settings. Like bathroom stall panels or things hanging on walls.
It's for the gas valve and igniter. 7:42 I guess they don't want people screwing with it.
Though I suppose many have asked, I've never known the answer. Target is 1 ton. What happens at 1 ton? Will you make 1 giant ingot? 🤣🤣🤣
He'll reset the target to 10 ton ;)
Aussies are the most entertaining people on the planet hands down. From the wild: HowToBasic to the just so darn well put together BigStack videos! As a US citizen i dont understand how you guys never let the animals in the way of the content, with all those spiders, snakes, and drop bears id be fearin every minute XD. Thank you for the content tho
I really like the views into your back yard. I get a real sense of how beautiful Australia must be in the summer.
Yes she’s very nice out here but it gets bloody hot🥵
One of the most beautiful scenes I have ever seen in a video. Exactly from minute 16:04 to 16:10 of this video. It was really beautiful.
Okay of all the channels I've seen that do (at least similar) videos like these, I haven't seen one that has A VAULT for them. Mad props for that
Hey bigstackD !
You’re rapidly becoming my favourite metal channel. Great job.
'Heavy Metal' eh??!😂
That was brilliant! Lots of good stuff - melts, dogs, birds....and getting closer to the ton mark!
Just got to the end of video n wow! That's quite the collection!
Looks like your really enjoying your new place as it comes together toward your desire. Thanks for sharing!
Mesmerising show, just love it👍
Just starting the video am I can tell this will be my favorite from this year!!! Huge copper bar for the win
Those are some super cute puppers. Very nice.
you make nice treasury there...
oh man your vault is awesom.
