Well it's finally here guys the big one. I have a lot of metal added to the stack today as you would already be aware. A feature length vid today sorry about that and so good luck getting through the whole thing. It just dawned on me I haven't done a giveaway for awhile so that will be coming up very soon but I'll probably keep it out of the title as thats when the scammers swope in to the comment section so be sure you don't miss the next few videos👊🏻😁. Now sit back relax and enjoy today's extra extra long video and I hope to see all you beautiful people next Friday. Sorry about the Aussie accent as that's what we sound like down here👍🏻.
HOLY COW - WE GOT TO HEAR BIGSTACKD'S VOICE!!! (Edit: for those who want to skip ahead, he begins speaking at 1:30:52) That was such a great way to close out this super-special video. So happy that you reached your goal. Now, on to the next!!
Uummm... what do you expect? He has an Australian flag in his garage... he snacks on mini-octopus... and he patronizes Hungry Jack!! Of course he's an Aussie!
Since that engine was 80+ years old, imagine the journey that copper has made. It was likely shipped to England from Canada as part of the war effort - likely as large ingots. In England it was made into an engine that was then shipped all the way to Australia to be later turned back into ingots again!
As a Canadian I feel an odd pride in how hard that old piece of kit fought to stay together. My sympathies to your bricks, sledgehammer, hand cart, curb, that crucible, and also your target weight for all getting crushed today.
The motor was from where I'm from, was in service longer than any of us have been alive, and won a brawl with a sledgehammer during it's retirement party. Also, both Australia and Canada are commonwealth nations, which means we're required to mildly annoy each other whenever possible. That bit of metal upheld our traditions well.@@helmutsecke3529
@jasongram1287 yeah it’s English not Canadian,“ made in Bristol, England by Newman industry’s limited here’s the proof here : 4:08 ” if your going off of the metal placard on the engine! Though I have to say it did put up a good fight throughout the video 😂

I’ve got to say this is amazing! I’m so happy you finally surpassed the one tonne goal! 🎉 that motor must’ve been tough to crack into, but the result was worth it. Congrats again for achieving the milestone! 🙂
Hey bud I noticed a major safety issue in this video and just thought I'd bring it to your attention. Safety first and all ya know. I'd hate to see someone get hurt without saying something. Brother, you drove on the wrong side of the road on what looked like that whole trip to the boneyard. Just a side note, I think you got a defective car from the dealership too. They put the steering wheel on the wrong side!! I hope I said something in time. But ya, great vid other than that brother from down under. 😂
Only BigStackD would have a subtitle saying he'll do more after achieving this!! Also, I fully respect celebrating this momentous day by letting us hear your voice. Goo on ya!

Super hard work, so much effort put into transforming old and “retired” equipment into something that people can still use. I love your creativity, your constant sense of humor and your tenacity, I wish you all the best. I look forward to your videos every time. Congrats on achieving your long-awaited record! 🤘 P.S. And I wish a good health to little Ingot, sent hugs and kisses to him.

What an amazing finale! I think I joined in around the 500 Kg mark, but dip into the old videos from time to time. This was so utterly cathartic. That voice reveal (nice pipes, by the way!), the drone footage, and a just absolute BEAST of a teardown. It's been a pleasure to watch the channel, your videography and your home grow over the years. Glad to see Ingot is on the mend, and the wife and I are eagerly looking forward to all the many milestones to come. Thank you for having us along. :)

That was truly awesome Big D! And we got to hear the voice behind the legend! Looking forward to the new target, and then following you on the journey to reach the new target! It truly is a pleasure watching your videos each week. For me its good therapy! stay awesome dude. Have an awesome weekend! Reminds me of the time we cleared out the copper from a very small power station near us that had been closed for 5 years. They had 2x 100megawatt generators, + all the switching yard. We got 2 buzz bars that weighed 800kg each. 180 feet of 4 inch diameter 4 core wire. Plus a lot lot more. We got 13.5 tons of copper. I had a 50kg furnace, all the handling equipment was 2 man of course. But it still took us a month to melt it all. I'm ashamed to admit that we nicked it all. But I was pretty crazy until I got to 31, and a judge shoved a 10 stretch up my arse. Now I try to give back to my community in every way I can. I don't know why I love this channel, but I do. Keep up the good work.❤️ 🇦🇺 from🇬🇧. 🇺🇦 Slava Ukraini, HEROIAM SLAVI !!!
I distinctly remember watching when you hit exactly 50% of your target. I am so very glad I was here to see that target reached! Thank you for brightening my Fridays for the past few years. Keep up the great work.
Hello D...first and foremost a BIG CONGRATULATIONS!!! for reaching the goal you set for yourself. I waited to watch this one until I knew I could give it my complete attention. When you said the motor was 87 years old I knew you would have some difficulty because things built that long ago were built to last. There sure was a lot of copper in it. Your voice sounded very relaxing to me. There's no reason to apologize just because you have an accent. Besides, it wasn't very heavy if you ask me. At one point you said you don't manage your time well. I beg to differ. On the contrary, I can't believe how much you accomplish from week to week. Not only did you move, you built an entire shed rather quickly and transferred all of your coins and ingots etc...some people didn't even realize you moved. You work a full time job, have a wife and children plus the two dogs and still manage to get a new video recorded and edited to post every single Friday without fail. Anyways, thanks also for all the laughs over the years. I plan to continue to watch each and every week for as long as you continue to put out content. I hope you had a nice weekend and I also hope you're having an awesome week. 💙✌️
Well this was an awesome journey! I remember when there was no mention of a stack and the subs were below 20K. You have inspired many to get into metal casting including me. This great hobby means a lot to me and has taught me many new things and I have learned a lot of new skills, and not to mention the awesome people I have found and met trough TH-cam. It's great to hear your voice again after all these years, hope you talk to us again in future videos, THANKS Dion!!! 👍👊
Thanks for sharing your hobby. It’s been a long journey but it definitely doesn’t feel long! I have looked forward to Friday’s videos for 3 years. And I look forward to many more.
A beautiful achievement! Grateful to you for taking us on this journey with you. It’s both sad and exciting to see you reach this goal. Can’t wait to see what’s next! Cheers, mate!!
Yay, I totally loved this episode. Loved hearing your dulcet tones. The pours were mesmerising, and I was chuckling at the dogs. You rock Bigstackd. Don't stop what you're doing as you clearly love it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Watching your videos is always a treat and is always a nice highlight to the week. Congrats on hitting the goal and the voice reveal was shocking! Made me turn back and listen to it again.
No flippin way! Haven't caught a melt video in many many moons and am very glad to have caught this one. One tonne achieved here, we get to hear your voice, and somewhere in the relatively recent past you upgraded from garage to workshop. Thank you for the upload
Well done! Your journey has been inspirational, I'm pleased to have come along with you on it. Best of luck on the future of the channel-- if you keep making 'em, I'll keep watching 'em!
No worries at all buddy I will continue to upload as usual and pump up the target weight for sure. Cheers for that super thanks I appreciate it mate that’ll go towards a few beers and some dog treats 👊🏻😁 have a great week and see you on Friday.
A quick tip, if you cut off the copper “head” on one side, you can after heating it up like you did pull the copper out with a pulley. And pls don't hit the bearings with a hammer so hard, if they break, they break like a little explosion and shooting itself as shrapnel everywhere. I work with those motors all the time, and we do it like this when we disassemble motors. Btw, love your videos, keep up the good stuff
I had a giggle watching that motor get heaved around on those tiny casters @ 2:50 ish 😅😂 especially after it’s just been handled by a forklift and a crane truck
I'm the subscriber (diff name then) who left comments at your request for video suggestions for you to do the biggest melt on YT. Well, you finally did it!!!!! Awesome!! CONGRATS ON YOUR REACHING YOUR GOAL!
Congratulations on blowing past your target! Nice to hear your voice again 🙂 I remember you spoke in some of your very 1st posts! I realized why I enjoy watching you tear stuff down/apart (despite not thinking I'd have any interest in it) it's like going along on a treasure hunt & damn that motor was the mother lode for copper! Glad to hear reaching the 1 ton goal doesn't mean the end of the road, there's still lots of melting to be done & i reckon I'm not going anywhere either since you're 1 of my favorite TH-camrs! 👍
You can cut off one side of the copper wire then pull the rest out from the other side. real easy that way. I also put dawn dish-soap in my water to cool and clean them off .
Very sad to see the motor go but at the same time im very happy to finally see the goal was reached Love these vids as they definitly help pass the time when everything is really slow and it definitly helps work on a few castings at home Also on a side note im wondering if youll get into lost wax casting for some high definition unique castings? Id really like to see how a few metals work in it as ive mainly only seen aluminium but bronze and even steel can be used in it
Yes mate as soon as I can get on top of stuff over here at the property and my work I would love to start getting into a lot more lost wax casting and lost PLA casting and use my kiln a hell of a lot more 👍🏻
What a payoff ! I've been waiting years for this, and you deliver an hour and a half long video for the "1 tonne" target. What a great way to start my weekend. Thank you
A tip from someone who does this on a daily basis. First cut off one end of the fuel coil (out side part of the motor) before burning. That way you just take pliers and pull the copper out from the end that wasn't cut. The armature (inside part) you have to cut both ends off (flush to the metal) then use a piece of flat bar to hammer the copper bars out. If you strip down enough of that size motors you will soon be doing it in less than a hour and a half
This was an incredible video. It was like a movie of pure enjoyment. And of course FINALLY THE TARGET IS MET! YAAAS!! When I woke up and saw the title, my jaw dropped and I got so excited! Truly phenomenal video, and I am sure it was a tiresome journey to work on all that melting. Great job man! Also, a true honor to hear your voice for the first time at the end. I hope Ingot's eye is doing better and that you and family are doing well. Bless you sir for the awesome content. Can't wait to continue following this journey.
Congratulations on reaching the 1 ton goal! wonderful feature length video. I am always fascinated by the sight of the solidifying copper! looks like a time-lapse shot of freezing water. It was especially nice to be able to hear your voice at the end. You seem to have created a little men's paradise in this place... I envy everyone who gets to live in Australia! Best, warm-hearted greetings from Germany! I'm looking forward to the next videos. Keep it up!😊
What a journey its been and im more then happy to be able to have been a part of it and watch your work and hobby grow so much threw out the years. Im exited to see what the next chapter and goal will be in the years to come mate.
Congrats on achieving your goal man, hope to see you continue doing more awesome melts in the future. Cheers mate, and here's to many more in the future
I sure hope Ingot's eye gets better I sure have been keeping him in my thoughts and prayers . bigstackD . Your dogs sure are a special part of your videos . So awesome that you hit the Target 🎯 weight and that you will be back . You are the # melting and casting channel on TH-cam Hands Down .!👍👍
Congratulations! It's got to feel like quite the achievement to reach this milestone. You've earned all of the accolades here in the comments and more, and I hope you're still getting as much joy out of creating these as we are watching them.
Big Stack D! Thank you for making such wonderful content. I always enjoy it but rarely comment. You'll have better luck with your bricks if the hollow spaces are not horizontal to the ground. They are designed to handle weight with the hallow spaces vertical, facing up and down, perpendicular to the ground. Dig it.
It's been a long journey. I remember when you started making videos. You've come a long way since the pouring lead into a silicon mold video. I've been invested, waiting for this day to come. It's been amazing. A literal tonne of good content. I can't wait to see what comes next. Thank you for the adventure thus far. Cheer mate. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉

Fun to hear your voice for the first time since I've started watching. I really like these videos, just watching you take things apart and recycle them back to their origins. Seeing those ingots and coins and other fun things get created is very enjoyable. Happy to see you hit your goal too, hope to see it double! Always looking forward to a new video from you.
I’m kind of speechless here, what with all the incredible things you’ve done. You’re a high achiever and we’re all proud of the journey you’ve had so far.

Great job, Bud!!! Congrats on your goal. Actually, watched this end to end. Don't know how your videos do it, but it is very rare for me to skip through them. Glad to see Ingot clearing up. He still looks worn-out, poor guy. Hope he heals up quickly. Thank you for the great videos, keep it up.
Man, I remember when I first found you when you were around 150k subs and now you have nearly 10x that! It's been an incredible journey man! I look forward to each and every one of your videos each Friday! Congrats on reaching your goal and can't wait to see the new goal! Keep up the incredible work that you do!
This was one well built motor. I bet you that if it was cleaned out someone could have gotten that working again too. I know it's a cliché to say "things aren't built like the used to be", but I'm pretty sure that this is proof of that haha! Nice job mate, great work on this one!
@@dom2661it might be built to last but it's efficiency is probably significantly lower than modern day ones. Then again in an apocalypse durability will value more than efficiency

Amazing video, thank you for being with us and showing the results of your labors, I am very glad that your goal of one ton has been achieved, it was a difficult path, but it has been achieved. Bigstackd is a real man!!! p.s in the rotor where there were copper blades, there are still copper plates inside the iron, they pass through (squirrel cage) and you can get them by knocking them out with a thin bolt or hairpin, but it will be damn difficult. Good luck in everything)
Well it's finally here guys the big one. I have a lot of metal added to the stack today as you would already be aware. A feature length vid today sorry about that and so good luck getting through the whole thing.

Been waiting impatiently for this one! Can't wait to see what the next milestone is going to be.

I was surprised when I heard him talk been watching his videos for almost a year couple months shy from a year lol
I also got surprised after he stopped talking then the camera started flying 😮
Gave me such a start, that. Well worth the journey, though..
❤
While it was a bit of a surprise to hear his voice, I think the biggest reveal that no one is discussing is that BigstackD can fly.
Holy cow, he got me too for a whole couple of seconds! I think it was the surprise to ear him speaking so, 2 impossible things one after the other!
Now the debate on "how does he take those air drift camera shots?" Is resolved
And Australian! 😳

🇺🇦 Slava Ukraini,
HEROIAM SLAVI !!!
You have ben nicked by gouverment, and private energy producer, nicked it is good 😂
I distinctly remember watching when you hit exactly 50% of your target.
You have so much patients sir, that was mind blowing to see all the work to be done before melting
Been enjoying your videos for years - so happy to see you reach that target. Well done!
Que vida más maravillosa, hace lo que le gusta en un sitio privilegiado.Que envidia sana me da.😊
I not only like your melts, I like the disassembly too, very chill. Reminds me of watching my dad work in his shop when I was a kid❤
And to think last week you only needed 100g to get the target.... bravo sir!! I look forward to your next adventures!🎉
@@snailforce ya hardened metal doesn't take too kindly to being smacked with nearly equally hard metal. Bad things can happen. Lol
Finally the video i have been waiting years for im so excited an hour and a half of pure excitement long live bigstackd
You can cut off one side of the copper wire then pull the rest out from the other side. real easy that way. I also put dawn dish-soap in my water to cool and clean them off .
Very sad to see the motor go but at the same time im very happy to finally see the goal was reached
Love these vids as they definitly help pass the time when everything is really slow and it definitly helps work on a few castings at home
Also on a side note im wondering if youll get into lost wax casting for some high definition unique castings? Id really like to see how a few metals work in it as ive mainly only seen aluminium but bronze and even steel can be used in it
Yes mate as soon as I can get on top of stuff over here at the property and my work I would love to start getting into a lot more lost wax casting and lost PLA casting and use my kiln a hell of a lot more 👍🏻
@@bigstackD nice
Also good to see ingot is doing better but i gotta ask what are you planning to do with your Fort Knox room?
What a payoff ! I've been waiting years for this, and you deliver an hour and a half long video for the "1 tonne" target. What a great way to start my weekend. Thank you
I cannot imagine thw hard work and time you put in to make this video. Hats off to you sir :)
My guy achieves his goal then starts to fly like superman at the end?! I need to start melting down metals 😂😭
Keep it up!😊
The motor melt was fantastic It was cool to hear the voice of big Stack D.
Great job hitting your goal! Ever thought about consolidating all the smaller bars into larger bars to make room for the next tonne?
What a journey its been and im more then happy to be able to have been a part of it and watch your work and hobby grow so much threw out the years. Im exited to see what the next chapter and goal will be in the years to come mate.
Congrats on achieving your goal man, hope to see you continue doing more awesome melts in the future. Cheers mate, and here's to many more in the future
До появления кувалды в кадре я думал что это начало реставрации)
congrats on hitting your goal, and thanks for taking us along on the journey! looking forward to the next adventures in big blocks of shiny metals 🙂
I sure hope Ingot's eye gets better I sure have been keeping him in my thoughts and prayers . bigstackD . Your dogs sure are a special part of your videos . So awesome that you hit the Target 🎯 weight and that you will be back . You are the # melting and casting channel on TH-cam Hands Down .!👍👍
Hey Big! Congrats on 1T of stacked beauties! It was great to hear you. All the best from Poland. 🎉
When i first started watching your channel you have 37k subs, now you have 1.46m, well done m8 always love these keep it up from England
Thanks a ton!
Congratulations! It's got to feel like quite the achievement to reach this milestone. You've earned all of the accolades here in the comments and more, and I hope you're still getting as much joy out of creating these as we are watching them.
Love the vids. Congrats on 1000 kg goal🎉
Congrats brother. Always good to see someone accomplish their goal! Cheers mate.
Wieloletni trud nagrodzony w pieknym stylu, brawo za wytrwałość. Pozdrawiam z Polski 👍🙂🙂🙂🙂🍾
Dołączam się do pozdrowień.
Cheer mate. 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I spent 30 minutes thinking I was watching an amazing rebuild…. Then scrolled to the end and saw you’d melted it 😂
i too rebuild electric motors with a sledgehammer.
LMFAO 💀😭 @@LucasTucas94
Congrats on smashing the goal of 1000kg! 🎉 great videos mate, thank you for the time and energy you put into each weeks episodes.
THANK YOU BigStackD! You do us such an amazing thing providing us with your videos, your community appreciates you and it was such a nice touch at the end we’ve all been waiting for that!😂❤
It’s been an epic journey mate and Iv loved every minute of it
Was emotional to hear you speak at the end
Now on to the next leg of the journey
Nice one 👍🏻
That brought a bunch to the totals. Thanks for sharing with us.
EEP! So excited to watch, and so glad I'm still awake to watch the brand new video! ❤😊
Edit 1: I'm only 16 minutes in, but watching this makes me so ridiculously happy I can't even explain it! 😍
Good to see someone using common pruning loppers to cut copper cables. Works just fine, no strain at all.
Congrats bro on accomplishing ur goal..... Enjoying ur videos for long time..... Keep up ur good work
You sound exactly how I thought you'd sound, lovely.
I also have a face for radio as well 👌🏻
This was one well built motor. I bet you that if it was cleaned out someone could have gotten that working again too. I know it's a cliché to say "things aren't built like the used to be", but I'm pretty sure that this is proof of that haha! Nice job mate, great work on this one!
Im guessing the copper piece on the rotor was a heat sink?
This motor should've been kept for the coming apocalypses....
@@dom2661it might be built to last but it's efficiency is probably significantly lower than modern day ones. Then again in an apocalypse durability will value more than efficiency
@dom2661 plural?
motors of this type are three phase, theyre not useable outside of heavy industry.
Didn't think I'd stay 'till the end... bizarrely fascinating. Proof, if any were needed, they don't build 'em like they used to! 👍
Monumental moment to see you reach this goal(And hear you speak). Subbed around 300kg and to think watching metal being melted could be so relaxing.
Action, suspense, intrigue, musical accompaniment, James Bond-like gadgets, animal wildlife, ... perfect for a feature-length film if you ask me!
Congrats on ONE TONN!!!
1:30:50 glad to hear you again. 😅 So glad that you made your target. I've been watching for quite a few years and you have grown so much. So proud of you. Keep up the good work 💙🐝💙
Congratulations on reaching your goal! Awesome!!! Glad I was able to follow some of your journey, can’t wait to see what comes next!
Thanks, really thanks for hearing your voice ! That's the cherry on top of your generally absolute great vids !
