The harsh vocals in this song are from Mark Jansen who is the band leader and second guitarist in Epica. You need to check out Epica properly and if you want to dive in the deep end, try Kingdom of Heaven part 3 from their Omega Alive livestream show from 2021.
Well, if you check out these rabbit holes you will find some connections between this and Nightwish. Simone is a good friend from Floor Jansen. In Epica they did songs together ( for instance "sancta terra"). In Ayreon they both perform regularly under the very good care of master progrock composer Arjen Lucassen. Who happens to be heavenly involved in this solo album from Simone as well. In Ayreon, surprise, surprise, you will also encounter Marko from Nightwish. It is a very small world . Now we are at it: There is a phenomena called "the Dutch Metal Goddesses". It is a unique group of female metal frond woman that absolutely blow your mind and are all Dutch. I am talking about Floor Jansen, Simone Simons, Anneke van Giersbergen, Dianne van Giersbergen, Charlotte Wessels, Sharon ten Adel, Irene Jansen, Marcela Bovio ( Mexican originally) etc. etc.. Simone Simons is not a group. This is a solo work. But she has also been the vocalist of the famous Dutch band Epica for over twenty years. In this particular song, other guys from Epica also took part - for example, Mark Jansen (Epica founder, vocalist and guitarist) and other participants on extreme vocals. If you have never listened to Epica before, I strongly advise you, there will be a real brain explosion, in terms of genre they can be classified as symphonic metal, like the same Nightwish, but they are very different, Epica is much heavier, more complex and epic.
