Hi mandy, thanks for the information, this is really helpful... But i have a question, my first interview,the last question before i was denied was if i had "any relative in the US" and i replied to her saying "No, I have no immediate relative in the US"... Whereas, on my DS-160 form, i filled in No immediate family but Yes for other relatives... Do you feel the answer i gave could have been the reason? If yes, what should i have answered cos the honest truth is filling Yes for other relatives on my DS-160 form was a mistake from the onset, my uncle who is there isn't someone i have close relation too, neither have i heard from him in years... What do you advice ma'am?... I'd really appreciate if i get a reply

I really appreciate your advice, but I have encountered a situation where i strongly believe i was denied because the financial burden at my current university is extremely high, even with a partial scholarship. Is it possible to change schools to an equally good university with 50%-60%lower deficit, even without a scholarship, while staying in the same academic program?

Hi Mandy, I got my F1 visa denied because the VO said 'It does not make sense for my Company to spend 30K on my education consideration I'm making 5K.' This was after I told her that the degree was to enable me to come to pick up a Managerial position upon my return. I'm not sure what to tell the next person when I reapply.

In my situation my visa was first approved for a university and then within 2 days of my visa approval (didn’t receive my passport yet) my i20 was canceled mentioning the reason as the seats are full(no prior intimation).
Hence which i emailed they embassy and i was suggested to come for another interview if the sevies program or university anything is being changed.
With this I changed my university and went for another interview yesterday however i was denied and cwop was marked on my visa approved page.
Has my situation got complicated. Could you please assist what i can do in this case.
Couldn't u simply deffer the semester? I mean if u told the university that don't cancel my sevis and deffer me for the next intake maybe that could've save u?? No? Just personal opinion let me know if u tried it
Please I was denied when the V.O said how long have you been with the company you are working for and I said 2 months and the V.O said 2mouth and he said take this white sheet it will explain everything to you and I was denied but I will be applying again on fall next year and it will be a year and by that time have work for 1 year so do I stand the chance of getting approved since I will be working for a year and if am ask what have change should I say now I have a year working experience please help on what to say and also what I can do to get my visa approved Thank you
I got admission in one of the top universities in USA which is the university of michigan dearborn, but I got rejected back in july 2023. I deferred my admission, and still can join winter semester.
I answered Vo that I applied to only one university, he rejected me.
The thing is , I have changed my job into a multinational IT company registered in america and this is the only change I got since july. Should I change my university as well or not ? Can I simply explain that I am not a country biased but a university biased as I only want to study from top universities
An affidavit of support was submitted in year 2021 and now my immigrant visa interview has been scheduled so before interview is it must to submit/upload an updated signed affidavit of support or it is enough if latest tax transcripts and W2s/1099 are uploaded? Has any one received any objection from concerned embassy in this respect that one must upload updated AoS since previous one has expired or for any other reason?

I applied for a pilot academy in Hillsboro, Oregon. When i went for my visa interview for the first time, the office was taking so long on asking questions for me. Every questions he asked he would wait for at least 20sec or 30sec and ask me the next question and he asked me like 5 questions and he just said your visa has been denied. I applied for the second time and and the same question came up in mine “ what has changed from from your last application “ i gave a honest answer for that and still after she just asked who is funding and i told my dad and he is in United States right now and he has taken out loan from his 401k and the next moment she just denied me. Is this happening because my parents are in United States and one more thing is that i did tell both officers that I’ll be coming back and they still denied it.

You can, but documents in general are not super important-- the interview itself is more important.

Hey! Does US issue F1 visa for Humanities courses like MA English, MA Philosophy or MA Humanities? I’ve heard F1 visas are denied if they are not for STEM or Management courses.
Yes, it's the same F-1 visa for all the different subjects. And that is not true about denials - it's not about the major, it's how you present.

I got rejected this time for my F1 visa. In the beginning i was asked about my educational background, universities i applied to and was asked for the reason for selection of this university. everything went pretty smooth till then but after that she asked me whether my aunt lives there or not, I said no. After that she asked that in 2015 when u got refused for visitors visa with your parents, why u wanted to visit back then? I answered to meet my father's friend. After this she checked something and got refused.
Now the actual thing is my aunt lives there but we are not in touch so i said no, but back in 2015 when my father applied he mentioned that his cousin sister lives there and due to this contradictory information I might have got rejection. I did not wish to lie intentionally but my consultant said your f1 visa have nothing to do with previous visitors visa rejection and that is why we did not pay attention to it and this blunder happened. So can you please please suggest me anything for this.

Me my parents my wife 5 year daughter and wife s mother went for b1b2 visa interview at a single visa appointment slot...My dad talked to the visa officer with the help of interpreter as our representative.our purpose of visit was to vist my brother..the visa officer only asked few questions to my parents...and granted them visa..not even a single question was asked to us(me my wife or her mom) and rejected our application on 214 b.Was wondering what went wrong with us

Hi Mandy,kindly respond to me .I have been refused f1 visa twice 18 months ago,during my job search I come across a job advertisement on indeed for crewmember and i applied but when I went for interviews for c1d visa was refused again,she only asked 2 questions first was have u worked with them before,I said it will be my first contract with them ,second question was how did you know about it I told her I saw an advertisement on indeed and I applied, then she said I do not qualify, The recruiter tried to email them but they never responded so again they have told me to apply cause I have good qualifications,
Hello Mandy ….my mom won an American lottery in the year 2018 and she added my father and I we went for an interview she was only asked one question and it was “where is her wassce certificate “ but in those years there no nothing like wassce in her years it was “common entrance “ due to that she was denied along side me that was in 2018

The last time I was denied, my wife and kids are on F2 but this time I am the only one on F1 because my wife now got a full time job which wouldn't allow her on a dependent visa so I can complete my 2years program and quickly reunite back.
