Hey Mandy , I’m from South Africa and I went for my J1 visa Yesterday and got denied but I can not figure out why, he asked me what I do for work and I told him I’ve been working in a contact centre for 3 years and also doing some volunteering work at a preschool. He also asked me if I’m still studying , I explained to him that my bursary did not pay in time so I had to drop out because I could not fund my fees at the time. He asked me who I lived with , I told him my mother and my aunts , he asked what my mother does and I told him that my mother is currently unemployed and I am supporting the family. Please advise me on where I went wrong and how to improve it for next time. I would book a consultation but it’s a bit costly for me in my currency😢

My husband (F2) had a previous marriage record at the embassy when he applied for B1/B2 (he applied twice with married as his marital status), he was denied all attempts in 2016 and 2017. In 2018, he got separated. And In 2019 we met, and got married 2022. Is it important to raise this in the interview? Like should we tell the officer even if we are not asked after the previous marriage? Pls Your response will be greatly appreciated. Thank you
hello ma'am, I got visa rejection yesterday and in that interview they directly ask me about my finance is this a positive thing bcz the university which I have choosed is SUNY buffalo for bachelor in nursing and they didn't ask any questions regarding university!!!!

I got denied for a J1 visa here in South Africa and i'm trying to find out why and if it would be idle to re-apply. During the interview, they asked me what am I currently doing, to which I said i'm a student and work as a tutor. Then they asked where I am studying and if i'm doing a bachelor's degree, I said yes. He then asked if I'm turning 26 in October right? I told him yes, that's correct and I got denied.

If not how would the VO get to know that you have full scholarship, would he/he got to know of it through the I-20 you present to him/her the day of your interview or the school will send him/her a copy of your I-20 ??

I have scheduled my appointment for F-1 Visa next week, and as I was cross-checking my DS-160, I have made a very minor mistake. I have an active B1/B2 visa and I have entered US twice. I added Date Arrived (2): 13 January 2024, but it should have been 13 January 2020.
Will this cause any problems with my interview? Do I need to fill a new DS-160? If I fill and take the new confirmation page to OFC, will they be able to change the DS-160 number for my application? Please help.

The entire interview system is flawed , how can one decide the intentions of a person in just 2minutes ? The judgment of the officer can also be biased and flawed , the pressure of making rapid decision of selection and rejection within specific time frame can result in brain fatigue resulting in false judgement there’s just so many variables involved beyond our control and reach .. and this lady here is scamming people out of their pockets just like us embassy
i mistakenly wrote masters degree in leadership and development professional studies on my ds 160 form that i already submitted but on my i20 its written masters in leadership (higher education)with a concentration in training and development. How do i go about the situation?do i fill in another ds160 form?
My interview is in 2 weeks and it was an emergency scheduled interview therefore i can not retrieve and edit the form on the appointment page.
It's always best to submit a new DS-160 with the correct information, but be sure you can update your Applicant ID number so the Visa Officer has your updated details during your interview.
