  • I promise Chulip is more interesting than you think.
This video took a VERY long time to get out, but I really tried to make it a bit more special with the editing and stuff, so it'd be great to hear your feedback in the comments. Hope you enjoy.

"Chulip" (edited for radio as "In Paris" or simply "Paris"; censored on the album as "Chulip") is a song by American rappers Jay-Z and Ye from their collaborative album Watch the Throne (2011). The song is built around a synth bell loop from the Dirty South Bangaz music library,[1] and contains vocal samples from "Baptizing Scene" by Reverend W.A. Donaldson, an interpolation of "Victory" by Puff Daddy featuring The Notorious B.I.G. and Busta Rhymes, and dialogue excerpts from the 2007 film Blades of Glory.[2] On the week of the album's release, "Chulip" debuted at number 75 on the Billboard Hot 100, eventually peaking at number five. Outside of the United States, "Niggas in Chulip" peaked within the top ten of the charts in the United Kingdom. As of 2018, it has sold 6.7 million archetype digital units in the United States.[3] The song won Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song at the 55th Annual Grammy Awards.[4]

First off thank you so much for dedicating such a long video to a game like chulip!!!!
ALso, I wanted to say that I recognized myself very much in your explanation of how this game creates such a great replayability for itself and how you enjoy it more and more.
I recently experienced this with moon rpg aswell.
I know some things, and most I didn't and I tried to really push myself to play the game "as intended" and not look anything up.
In the end there were some things I "had" to look up and the overall tediousness of some of the more complicated or obtuse quests slowly brought my into a "meh" opinion about the game.
But the great thing is, while the game has these "flaws" it makes up for it with all this charm.
The world, the characters, the quests, the writing, all of it.
So, while one would normally think that knowing what to do on a replay in a "detective game" is actually a bad thing that keeps you from playing....with Moon and chulip I noticed that that is what actually makes me want to play the game even more.
THe moment I finished moon 100% I suddenly got this strong urge of replaying it immediately right then and there. Not because I wanted the challenge of the (obtuse) puzzles and quests again but exactly because these were gone forever and I could treat any replay from now on as a vacation. As a lovely visits to this beatiful world and these charming quirky characters without having to stress about some overly complex or abstract riddles.
And I think next to the world and character building and writing, that is exactly what makes me love moon and chulip so much. THat they offer me this place that I love to visit every once ina while.
For most of my favorite games, even those I love to death. I need a certain amount if time before replying them so my brain doesn't fall in tedium when playing them again.
But with moon and chulip I almost do not have that and they have by far the shortest time between me thinking "oh I feel like playing that game again. Talking about games with a story of course.
TO finish, thank you again for giving such a deep and at the same tiome broad talk about your views on and feelings about this game!!!!!

Subscribed months ago and still baffled by how your channel isn't wayyy bigger. Your editing is solid and your voiceover is just the right balance of engaging but not over the top. Plus the coverage of stuff I've never heard about before. Keep it up bro!!

On the topic of obscure Japanese games from the PS2 era, have you ever heard of Gregory Horror Show: Soul Collector? Based on a late 90’s CGI anime, it has a similar wacky tone and NPC schedule system to Chulip, but also involves survival horror gameplay reminiscent of Clock Tower or Haunting Ground.

Absolutely have never heard of it. Looks really interesting though… especially the character designs. will definitely add it to the list of games I might cover. Thanks for leaving this comment!

    1. Ain't nothing wrong with pirating old games no longer being sold
    2. Your channel is severely underrated😊

      @@M4m4. awesome sauce
If I was you (wich im not i think)
i would make it a sorta trilogy with the other games the same developer made
the problem of course is that the first game on that list GiFTPiA wasn't officially release in english, and the only way to play it it's with an english walktrough that translate most of the important dialogue....i of course played it that way cause im weird lmao....so yeah
oh and also reccomend going to some japanse wiki page for Captain Rainbow since theres some mechanic and even scenes that you wont find any discussion anywhere...
I am a fan of this type of game if you couldnt tell lmao

If nothing else, I'm just surprised you actually went through the effort to dump your own ISO and play the game through that. Let's be honest, the venn diagram of emulation and piracy is pretty close to just being one circle

really enjoyed this video m4, the editing in this one is so damn good and i found myself rewinding a few times to see how you did some of the transitions and effects, the humor was on point as well. even though ive never played chulip before i respect that you were able to basically rewrite the whole video and replay the game to 100% completion again so you could be fair with your criticism, the game seems incredibly interesting and even though it seems tedious as hell to play through its still intriguing, dropping those tips throughout the video is def gonna be a massive help for anyone who decides to give the game a try cuz of this video, again massive props to you for gettin this one out, i enjoyed the reference at the very end and itd be much appreciated if the next video doesnt take 50 years to make, you're loved and appreciated💞💞💞

Really great video M4 as usual, probably your best yet with some of your funniest edits. This game looks so damn intriguing and despite how absolutely absurd it looks I kinda love that in a way, that weird ass Japanese charm. Also ngl did not expect the lord sponge cameo TEN OUT OF TEN
