The modern version of this game is called From Dust and it was an Xbox Arcade title I think. It's not as interesting as this game but it's the spirtual successor no less.

this video's style just gives off your energy, anyone new to your channel should watch this one first. its a video that initially has a really dumb premise, but you're able to make it interesting and subvert expectations. it honestly felt like I watched 3 different videos that were all crammed into one

I hope we see Doshin again… I feel like there’s plenty of potential for a modernized Doshin game. It’s interesting to see some sort of moral effects on this little virtual world and I feel like there’s plenty more they can do with it. Furthermore, they can get even more technical with some of the terraforming I am sure! The can make some more complex character AI as well. Plus, like, this game needs a little more content, it’s relaxing, but Animal Crossing New Horrizons has more content than this game. I feel like there can also be a deeper story with some deeper themes of life or religion… I dunno. These are just ideas. How about rather than having monuments be the primary goal of the game, they incorporate more goals to the game as well and have some optional monuments as well to add some mire secrets to the world. How about more diverse environments? Everything is tropical and I like that, but it would be cool to maybe see more. How about caves? How about more distinct towns? How about animals? Why not take care of animals too? Farms? How about making the underwater an actual environment to take care of? Dolphins! I mean the GameCube’s code name was the the dolphin, it makes sense! How about a fishing game? It would be cool to humans interact with other creatures. How about adding some sort of history to the world? Mythology? Holidays? Festivals? How about the ability to shrink down go the size of the inhabitants and gain a more personal relationship with them! If you are as small as a villager, you can get a better idea on the environments you created for the villagers! Maybe give people a reason to play as Doshin’s evil counterpart! Maybe he can create monsters or change the terrain to creat things of destruction such as volcanoes, lava, or astroids! Maybe create a second ending or different endings depending on how you act? We can have more natural disasters such as tsunamis. Maybe give evil Doshin the ability to create these disasters.
Sorry about the scattered thoughts. I kinda just kept writing once I thought of something new.
