Thank you for this tutorial Daniel, one day I will own a full size arcade and will be able to install these awesome buttons, this video will come in handy. cheers
Thank you so much for making this. I finally figured it out a few years ago, but I would like to revisit it again and this was very easy to follow and up to date. You are the man!!! :)
Thank you for all of your tutorial videos! Been following along as I wire up my machine. It would be awesome if you did some troubleshooting guides on common issues on setting up our machine.
Thanks so much for such an easy and clear tutorial. Very timely for me as I am almost done with my arcade rebuild. One question, It wasn't made clear, are the ports the position you connected the light to your board, in your case IO board or would Port 1 always be player 1 joystick? Hope you get a kickback because this video just prompted me to buy a license now that that I understand it. I do not understand how ledblinky works with the servo stick though, is that what sets the proper config per game? Now you have do a tutorial on the stream deck and icons and connections lol. thank you as always
Hi Alex, no - you can choose your own port-label for any button or joystick. Super easy. Servosticks: just like the button light info, mame has also 8 or 4 way info. Ready to go. So just enable Servostick in the full version and you are golden 🙌🏻
Awesome tutorial! Thank you! I ended up buying LED blinky. Good price for someone doing this either permanent or side hustle. This would be for MANE and other emulators. I guess the question would be what's the best front end if that makes the difference. I'm still trying to put all the puzzle pieces together to make my RGB buttons configurable without any scripting if possible. I'm following the video, but not entirely sure how that works with other emulators. I am not using the controller board for actual input, just RGB control. I purchased a board that emulates 4x Xbox controllers via USB and it makes sure the OS enumerates them in the same order every time.
I've been praying for software like signal rgb that has hooks into led control boards and emulators. You can literally use a video and overlay every rgb on your computer to match a position on a video. SO EASY to animate.
Got a question.. I'm planning on building a cabinet that will have a detachable console so I can play at my couch.. is there a way to be able to make my console controllers wireless (these will be for arcade games and not wireless controllers.. so I'm guessing, apart from tearing several Bluetooth controllers apart and wiring them into the console, is there wireless kits for arcade controllers so I can make the console completely wireless?
Do you prefer the servo joysticks over the programmable ultra 360 analog sticks? I haven't tried either yet, but I'll definitely be getting the goldleaf rgb buttons and ledblinky. I previously thought i couldn't use this with launchbox for some reason.
Hi Daniel how are you? if your client wanted 8 buttons instead of 6 (on player buttons), an extra ipac board would be needed because you can't use 3 and 4 player buttons because of the trackball and spinner right? having in total 32 inputs instead of 48 ( 8 for joysticks, 12 for normal buttons, 4 for coin and pause and 4 for the menus) in this case for the same cabinet but with 8 buttons instead of 6, what was the best board to complement the ipac ultimate? another ultimate? (sounds overkill) or the best option is to sacrifice 2 of the 4 pinball buttons and 2 of the menu buttons? Thank you. Love your content =D
Hi, You can also connect the spinner / trackball directly via USB instead of using the Ipac. This will save you the needed extra buttons. Another Ipac is indeed a costly solution. The small PCB's you need to connect the spinner and ipac are an option when ordering or can be ordered separately. They are pretty cheap :) Thanks! Daniel
Nice tutorial!! I got a question. I have an LED strip plugged into my pacled64. I just want it to turn on to BLUE when I turn my pc on. Just always on, nothing crazy. I can't figure out how to keep the blue light on, but I know it works when testing it in pacled64 app and LedBlinky app. I feel like there is something simple I'm missing. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks for the video Daniel, I have followed your guide carefully but LEDBlinky is not working when I run the LEDBlinky test I get a message that says "Use the GenLEDBlinkyInputMap app click the add LED controllerbutton, select LEDBlinky Output and a controller ID, map ports and save but when I do that it still doesn't work. I'm trying to use LEDBlinky for MAME only in Attract-Mode front end. I have the paid version and even the MAME Output Test shows nothing happening my IPACUltimateIO LED controllers are set up in the Generate LEDBlinky Input Map like in your guide. Please help I'm at a loss probably something simple I'm missing.
Attract mode frontend works differently I remember. First see if Simple LED test is showing all leds to know if the Ipac board is working / setup correctly. In Atract mode I believe you have a menu (TAB?) to enable LedBlinky. If those does not work you can contact Arzoo from LedBlinky 👍🏼
is there anyway to make the controls/lights compatible with this device ? the [Razer Chroma Addressable RGB Controller] , I've been planning an Arcade build for a really long time, I just really need some help
Hey Daniel, top video.
I use Hyperspin do I need to enable it in Hyperspin like you enabled in launch box? my buttons in mame light up the ones used then stay lite while the others buttons flashes. is that in the options not to flash the unused buttons in game play, it is distracting.
Hello Daniel, hopefully in the Future we can work together with your excellent builds and our X-Gun. The X-Gun is the most technically advanced gaming gun on the World
I have question. On the bottom of ultimarc ultimate IO board under ports 1-48 it says rgb+. But under port 49-96 it says bgr+. Does that mean i should program it the same way its labeled on the board?
Awesome tutorial 😄

Amazing tutorial. Thank you!
Where did you get all those MAME Clear Logos in black square at timestamp 19:30? Those are so cool!

I believe Brook sells a wireless board yes 👍🏼

What is your favorite front end that you like the best? Very nice work. I would like to do a star wars sit down cab from the original!
I like Launchbox / Bogbox best now 😅

Hmm, don’t use ledblinky for that. Just wire the strip to your pc psu and you are golden 👍🏼

Hyperspin does not need to enable LedBlinky. HyperHW will launch the program. You can change the behavior of the leds in the config program indeed 👍🏼

You will need to connect the wires in the right orientation, programming doesn't change
What brand/model of rgb joysticks/buttons do you recommend?
Ultimarc #fanboy 😉
Hi Daniel where can I find the RGB joysticks?
Ultimarc website ‘rgb balltop’
Yo yo yo Daniel vraagje dus is deze sofware ledblinky weet u ,of dat software ook bij de pinball flipperkasten word gebruik voor bij::: de ledstrips
Nee ik dacht van niet, ik zoek het op voor je 👍🏼
Where can I contact you so you can build me a 4 player panel?

Do you have to do this for each machine you build?
Yes 😅
Binnenkort neem ik contact met je op, heb sinds ik m'n Hyperspin avontuur begon in 2009 al een idee in mn hoofd. te lang dus! goeie videos man.
