Ho do we add MAME ROMS individually? I have a few ROM .ZIP files that I want to add to my MAME Collections, but I don't see the option to just import 1 ROM at a time without doing a FULL ROMSET. Can someone post quick instructions on how to add them? Thanks!
you can also delete the "-no filter" from the Default Command-Line Parameters in the Tools-Manage-Emulators - click on MAME, choose Edit - under Default Command-Line Parameters delete -no filter and then click save... start a game and it won't be as pixelated
This was very helpful. I'm actually getting ready to update my MAME set and would really like to see the best method to do that in LaunchBox. It's a pretty significant jump in versions, I assume I can just copy over everything, and then have LaunchBox scan for newly added roms?
I'd agree. Great software and they deserve success. I've tried many front ends and this one is the best. You can even include pc games as well..that's how good it is..
@@Mark_Thackeray THE ONLY THING i DONT LIKE IN LAUNCHBOX IS THAT YOU CANNOT CONTROL THE FRONT END WITH THE JOYSTICK, ALWAYS NEED A KEYBOARD AN MOUSE!!!!
Can you please make a video in the future about how to update your mame set, I know the mame and your mame set has to match. An update without missing up your launchbox build or your playlist you already made like Naomi and other sega ports inside LB? Thank you
Can someone please make a video on how to update a full r set already installed in launch ox to the newest mame roms set available. Once newest rom set is downloaded. What steps have to be taken to update current mame and romes with adding newest games added in new set.
Need help inhave downloaded mame 0.268 roms (Merged set ) from pressuredome and from same website it has bios set for 0.268 i have downloaded and its a folder and in that folder all zip files are their so do i need to put that bios folder in my roms folder or i need to put those zip files in my rom folder ? And do i first need to put that bios file and then import game on launchbox
Why can’t we just use the zip roms and final burn neo through retroarch? I can’t get that to work at all even though all my other system roms work perfectly fine through retroarch.
@@PikaTNT it’s strange cause I put my arcade rom set into the arcade folder in emulation station and it just works with FBN. I want to use Launch / Big Box but it doesn’t work easily like the other sets I have in Launch Box.
@@PikaTNT I can’t imagine that cause it works in every other front end perfectly even retrobat and retroarch is on all of those. It’s also the one that’s installed with launch box. Maybe I should try stand alone FBN
I followed your video step by step, but it seems you did NOT show where in Launchbox exactly CHD files needs to be pasted. Since this is a very confusing MAME stuff, I can only guess it could have saved a lots of time to many of your follower, like me. There are also missing some important aspects, which made me really crazy, since I searched like days for them. First of all ´how to add only some MAME ROMS´ or ´how to add some MAME ROMS after the full set MAME ROMs installation in LaunchBox´ or what are the real differences between the free and payed versions. Anyway, thank you very much for your nice and good video! Keep up the good work!
Can we get a video or can someone help me play win3xo games on LaunchBox? There are some great learning/preschool games that I'd love for my boys to play, but I am not technical at all. I also have access to the ISO, not sure if that would be easier.
Help! When I use Export to Android feature it wants to export my whole MAME library even when I select Specific Games only! Is this a bug? I imported MAME 0.266 non-merged ROM set.
Moved approx two year ago from Hyperspin to Launchbox and i never regret it.. there are some smaller things like for the visual which was simply more nice with HS, but functional LB is perfect. Another question about the Video, would be pretty nice to see how to update to a newer mame version?!! :)
@@UnbrokenSoftwareLLC sounds to easy to be true :) I will give it a try, just a bit scared to kill my nice setup :D So it easily replace everything was i there :) Awesome.
Since this lets you select which MAME ROM set you are using would you be able to setup multiple MAME instances in LaunchBox and select which version you'd like to use. For example in the video version 0.264 was used. Could I name it MAME 0.264 instead of Arcade and then when I downloaded a new set could I keep the 0.264 version and add the 0.265 version and call it MAME 0.265 and be able to use both sets by selecting one of the MAME versions?

Agreed. So long as we are talking about JUST the windows license. The Android version is shoddily put together.
Same!
Is it possible to load roms/games from your cloud account (Dropbox, Google Drive, etc) with LaunchBox?

You can. But you need a fbneo romset to do that. Keep in mind it’s not a complete set, but iirc all the CLASSICS are there.

You would essentially go through the same process shown in the video, which will update MAME and games to the new target version of your choosing.

SNK Neo Geo MVS is playable from a full MAME set, so by following this video, you'll be able to play SNK Neo Geo MVS games.
Try using nebula or some other emulator like final burn. Why are you trying to use mame?
