Nice work Gareth. We had the pleasure of walking in the Derbyshire Dales last September . Wonderful place. I think the William III shilling must be 1697. His wife Mary was still alive in 1691, surviving til 1694. Love your vids. Cheers from down under.
Hi there Wayne, there are some really nice places to walk in the Dales and its no secret that I love detecting in some of these places and been out there. A big part of this hobby for me is been out in the great outdoors. Metal detecting is definitely an outdoors person hobby. You are right it was 1697, but the 7 definitely looks more like a 1. Thank you so much for watching all the way from the other side of the world. I love knowing that my tiny metal detecting channel reaches such distances. Gareth

What smashing looking fields Paul has. You missed a trick not bringing your 13" could G ! Still, what a great haul of coins ..bet Paul was sick with you nicking that lovely silver !!! Must say I'm addicted to your vids G... absolutely class productions !! 🙌
Hi mate, as always thank you so much for such awesome comments, I do really appreciate it. Me and Paul are good friends and we'll be out detecting together again soon, maybe I'll bring him on my gold Guinea fields. I usually stick with the 11 inch but yeah these fields demand a big coil. Thanks again for the kind words, apologies for the slow reply, I've hundreds of comments to reply to :) Gareth
Fun Fact. There are 26 variants of the William3rd Shilling including 3variants of the Chester mint ones.. Smashing Video Gareth. Hope you and Yours are keeping well.
Hi Brian, thats an awesome fact and I did not know that. I'll have to have a look in my Spinks book. Thanks so much as always for taking the time to watch my content. Hope to see you on the next episode. Apologies for the slow reply. Gareth
Great video Gareth lovely William and other finds bit of a cliff hanger lol the mighty deus eh
Hi Bobby, cheers mate, yes I thought I would leave you all on a right cliffhanger there 😆 It is very much worth the wait. In fact the next episode is already LIVE on my channel... Gold!! Thanks for taking the time to watch and for supporting my channel
Wow stunning find 😁
Hi, thanks, it was a really amazing coin to find. I hope you check out my new video to see the gold coin.. Thanks so much for tuning in and supporting my channel. Gareth
Gareth
That WIII was awesome mate. Great vid, love the voice over stuff and the trailer is a great idea. Nowt like finding gold. 🎉
Hi mate, yes probably the best William III I've ever found. I really enjoy doing voiceovers, I bought a very expensive desk microphone which I use. I find it quite difficult to do without sounding like a gimp or sounding like I'm reading from a script, but I think I am slowly improving. Its harder than it looks haha. The cliffhanger I thought would be a good way to get viewers to return for the next episode. Hope you are doin well, apolgies for the slow reply - I am overloaded with comments at the moment
@@TheDukesOfDerbyshire don’t you worry about that pal. You’re smashing it
@@historydeantected thanks mate, the channel is growing at its fastest ever rate at the moment, over new 700 subs a month, its crazy. I've been making slight changes and working hard on improving my content. Its great to see that work having a positive impact
Hi mate great start love the silver William and that in print unreal keep it up buddy
Hi Carl, cheers buddy, probs the best William III I've ever found. I do enjoy a good imprint, its something I always try to capture as it keeps the ney sayers and internet trolls off my back. Thanks as always for tuning in and taking the time to watch. Catch you on the next episode. Gareth
Excellent finds
Hi mate, thank you, its not very often I get to detect on other peoples permission. I really enjoyed this day, its a great historic location. Thanks as always for tuning in, watching and supporting my channel
Incredible silver milled coin. Usually Spanish reals are the oldest silvers I have found here in Tennessee.
Hi Terry, cheers mate, its probably the best William III coin I've ever found. Ye I see some amazing big old 8 Reales found in the States, I'd love to find one of them. Many years ago pre TH-cam I found a 1 or 2 Reale, 1782 I think it was. Almost worn smooth. Thanks as always for taking the time to watch and support my channel
Just discovered your channel. I’m addicted already. Thank you for sharing.
Hello, ah I really love to see comments like this from new people coming along to my channel. I really appreciate it thank you. Ayup Gary, cheers mate, this is one of the best William III coins I've ever found. This was the following hunt from the hammered silver, my next 2 hunts produced 2 gold coins, best month ever!!! Cheers as always for tuning in and supporting my channel
wow mate that is awesome and great finds cant wait to see the coin in the next video
Hi mate, yes this was such a lively coin, but man my next 2 hunts were unreal, not 1, but 2 gold coins!!! Absolutely blown away!!! Thanks as always for tuning in and taking the time to watch 🙏🏻
Nice job! The silver was a fantastic find. Glad to see that you kept the pipe stems. I must say that besides the beautiful drone footage, you select some very nice music in your videos. Great video and very pleasant to watch. On to the next-I can't wait to see what "gold" piece that you found. Cheers mate!🍺
Hi Mark how are you doing? Apologies for the slow reply, I am 2 weeks behind on comments at the moment. In a hotel in Livingstone, Scotland at the moment getting stuck in with the comments. Thanks mate I pay a monthly subscription to something called Epidemic Sounds, its where all the music comes from. Thats another time consuming job trawling through thousands of songs trting to find what fits my channel. Hope you are well buddy and I hope you enjoyed the follow up video to this one
Absolutely brilliant video Gareth keep up the good work can't wait to see what that coin is at the end of your video looks very shiny all the best in your next video.

Nice Silver and a nice song in the backround. 👌
Hello there, thanks so much for the kind words and also for taking the time to watch. I spend ages looking for music that I can use on my channel. I really enjoyed the music in this one too. Thanks again and I hope to see you on the next episode. Gareth

Brilliant bud. That is a sure way to start on someone else's permission and not get another invite lol. Great finds, and the ground is dream pasture. All the best to both of you and can't wait to see the yellow stuff you have found on the next vlog. HH
Hi mate, apologies for the slow reply, I am so behind at replies, its becoming a full time job. Excellent vid mate. I'm very new to Detecting and in only my 2nd outing with my fabulous Simplex + on my daughters 40acre fields, i netted 3x toasted coins (among a hoard of farming iron rubbish). Going on what you found and described in this vid, they are 2x half pennies and a little farthing - like yours, all completely toasted. Don't think I've commented before so Hi!
Hi Ian good to hear from you, thanks for leaving me a comment. I always appreciate hearing from my viewers and friends of the channel. I wish you well in the hobby, stick at it and gold things will come. Thanks for taking the time to watch this video and all my others. @@TheDukesOfDerbyshire yes mate, i watched it and it confirmed to me that the Simplex i bought was a wise choice. At 4:50 that George III Half Penny would easily buy you a pint of the best ale back then. How much copper would you need today to buy a pint of ale? 0.7 kg ? Ish. Either the price of beer has gone up relative to copper or the price of copper has gone down or both!
Hi mate, thats a scary thought isn't it, a pint of beer back then cost half a penny. Today we'd need about 900 half penny's to buy a pint. Shocking isn't it? Apologies for the slow reply, I am so far behind with replying to everyone. Thanks so much for taking the time to watch and for leaving your feedback. Hope to see you on the next episode. Gareth

Your better than that tacky title page keep it classy one of the best detecting channels
Hi Neil, I rarely get feedback on the video thumbnails so I really appreciate this. I must say I struggled with this one, I was up late last night finishing it off. I assume you are referring to the PNG of the girls shocked face? As everything else is pretty good in my opinion, its my hands in the picture, its my coin (hidden to avoid spoiler), its my best ever William III and its metal detecting.. But I see where your coming from though. I spend huge amounts of time trying to improve my channel, I try different approaches, different tactics etc and I guess this is just an experimental approach. This channel is fast becoming part of my livelyhood and helps to support my family so I will always try new things, even if a bit cheesey 😅 I hope you understand.
