Sonic 3 & Knuckles: All Super Emeralds in Mushroom Hill Zone

Just showing where and how to get all the Super Emeralds in Mushroom Hill Zone Act 1 and 2. I had to speed up the stages to stay within the time limit. Yeah, I know...What the...the Emeralds? Gotta speed up---ugh...

Back when this game was released, there was no internet. Failing one of these bonus levels was frustrating as you were forced to search for another giant ring in order to have another go, to try and figure out the layout of the level and its method.
If you lacked the patience, it was easy to forget about the emeralds, finish the game and forget about it. That's exactly what I did. Since watching this video, I've finished it all. I'm very grateful to Stungun48.

Actually, this was the one I was stuck at for the whole day. I could not find the layout of the map to save my life, but then saw it was really easy after this video.

Hard to believe, it took me 10 years to get all the super emeralds. Back in 2000, I beat Sonic 3 & Knuckles without them. 10 years later, I finally did beat it with all the super emeralds.

Actually, I just figured out that if you go to that hidden super ring that knuckles was hiding with some but not all chaos emeralds, the ones you have will transform and you have a chance to earn one of those super emeralds, but the other giant rings will still take you to get the remaining chaos emeralds. I discovered this using level select.

I own a Game Cube with Sonic Mega Collection with Sonic 3 & Knuckles sadly I lost 2 of the wire's that go to it and the wires with a Game Cube controller is only about 20.00 sadly I don't wanna use my money on it just to play one game (I'm not completing Sonic 1 and I've already completed Sonic 2 and the only way I'm going back to Sonic 2 is if I unlock Knuckles The Echidna in Sonic 2).

Man, I miss the Super Emeralds. At least it's nice to know Hidden Palace has been acknowledged in Mania. There are some emerald statues in the places where the Super Emeralds would be, though... it might be because the seven Chaos Emeralds aren't there anymore to transform into the Super Emeralds.

I beat this ages ago as a kid when I first got sonic 3 and then when the sonic and knuckles expansion combo cartridge came out I beat it again fully with with sonic sonic and tails just tails and knuckles having all the super emeralds. It’s just wonderful seeing those saves when I load it in the genesis.

Aside from the very first ring in the video, all the other special rings in the zone are in the same place, but you'll only get super sonic instead of hyper.

yes, it will show sonic and tails going back to angel island (on the tornado) with the master emerald, then they will leave the master emerald and the island will start to float back into the sky. if you beat the game without the super emeralds, sonic will leave the master emerald into the space.

This doesn't seem to work on the PS3's Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection. I beat the game as Super Sonic, it cycled around to the intro, I started again as Sonic and the first giant ring was for a regular Chaos Emerald.
Is there any way to get around this? Do I need to beat Sonic 3 first?

SiegeTF This is only for "Sonic 3 & Knuckles". Originally Sonic 3 was to include both games as one but to cut time they cut any of the floating island stages and 6 months later release "Sonic & Knuckles" with the attachable top that technically makes the complete Sonic 3 experience. The "lock on" for the games were not supported in the Ultimate Genesis Collection. You can however buy both Sonic 3 and Sonic & Knuckles from XBLA and PSN to get it working and both are relatively cheap.
