This show was so dense, it has made every sitcom since look incredibly weak in comparison. The bit at the start sends up over-saturation of European TV, the casual racism of the British press, daytime chatshows eating themselves, dubs completely changing the tone of a piece and Italian culture's obsession with male chauvinism. It's just 25 seconds in one episode that never comes up again.
@@phreak761 People like that see racism in everything. Funny thing is shows like TDT were taking the piss out of the obvious neo marxist infiltration into British television. That should be pretty clear with the gay character being a constant 'victim' in the show. But I guess people see what they want to see.
The first time someone told me about Gogglebox, the first thing that entered my head was The Bureau’s dedicated TV show discussing people watching it!! Funny to think this was satirical at the time and eventually became the norm with terrible side-programmes like Big Brother’s Little Brother, Strictly It Takes Two, British Bake Off Extra Slice, I mean I could go on...
@@theculturedthug6609 Bit of a stretch to say most. There was cooking in prisons and youth hostelling with Chris Eubank . There is no monkey tennis as of yet.
I'd be jolly chuffed about being on set between Italian Daytime Front and Italian Daytime Mackichan. In other words, the only inanimate object I've ever though of becoming is that telly.
I can’t help feeling the quality of UK comedy has taken a nose dive, I’m not sure if this is due to us becoming more Americanised, the internet. Some cultural shift? No funding in the right places?
Totally agree with you...strange isn't it 1970's to 2003 I would say is when peak UK/Ire comedy hit its heights, not trying to join the dots but the advent of the internet and now social media has killed comedy (esp in the younger generation) all 5 of these people were in their late 20's here (1994) could you see this generation now writing something so astute and observational, it's all shoe horned in sjw, identity politics and hence why the current state of comedy/TV is dogshit...esp C4/BBC3 Yes

"Quick...get him into the Bureau de Change". Magical stuff.
Practically every line of The Bureau is gold.
I still chuckle every time I think of ”Bureau the Change”. Brilliant concept.
The most perfect sketch I have ever seen.
"I don't even work here" is one of the best lines ever
Why can't we get comedy like this anymore. All stuff today is shit.
i wish they made more of the bureau.
The theme’s my ringtone.
"I said I'm gay."
"...You're fired."
Always loved how (deliberately) lazy and hacky the gay stuff is. Right down to the gay guy’s name being Guy. 😅
@@kisbieI never even clocked the gay/guy laziness after all these years. 😂
am i the only one who finds the vibrato on that last note of the intro absolutely hilarious? perfect satire of coronation street in musical form
Jack a pastiche of the EastEnders theme, but yes it’s well-done
EastEnders, surely.
@@givemethevalium Yeah, you're right
@@KaitainCPS Correct
The drums are very eastender esq
"Mariaaa, MARIAAAAA!"
high class byeuuro de shonj
"That's right, you go an' all. But just you remember what you said ... " Infinitely better than Eastenders.
"I'll get these evil-doers" LMFAO!!
The same phrase George W used about Al-Qaeda a few years later!
@@christschinwon no coincidence, he was a regular viewer
".....And I don't even work here!"
I'll get these evil doers. lol. Classic Schneider
Just never been bettered.
would love to see a reunion show

Nothing beats a bit of casual racism mate.
Nothing about race was mentioned.

Exactly! Look at the state of the BBC now 🤣 pathetic
@@phreak761 "Wop" is a fairly well known racial/xenophobic slur. It is not all that difficult to miss.
With a young Unai Emery as Den Hennatty.
that voice dubbing is amazing!!
non uno spettacolo di burattini sul lungomare a Margate
Absolute genius!!!!!!
This takes it onto a whole new level. Breathtakingly funny.
Maria...MARIAAAA!
I love the Bureau
just love how Doon throws random spanish words despite being Italian, lol "la ultimaxion del mescalino" like wha
Wow, Chris Morris is a fucking genius.
“So much for the Euro bureau”… everything about Chris Morris is hilarious.
