    "I'm sad you are teaching your child a new language so early" This is so funny because early childhood is the perfect age to learn new languages

    • @ehtishamkhan2004
      @ehtishamkhan2004 22 วันที่ผ่านมา +5

      It's also funny because in many other countries, children knowing more than one language is pretty common. For example, I'm a Punjabi Pakistani. I was taught to speak in Urdu while the grown-ups in my house would talk to each other in Punjabi. And I was enrolled in an English medium school since English is also an official language of my country. That adds up to 3 languages that I wouldn't have known if I wasn't taught as a kid.

    What... What's wrong with being bilingual? That's such a good skill to learn. That was the most dumb reaction the mother said and gave to the OP in the first story. Not to mention the bad blood before. She's really pushing her luck.

    Story 2: Not only is it time to leave, it’s time to reconsider having a child by that man. Does she really want to be tied to such a nasty man for 18 years? Because he definitely will fight her for custody. It’s a lot on her, I know but it’s better to not even bring a child into that environment. She would be TA if she did.

      This wouldn't be victim-blaming only if creating a child was a solo activity. Acting like an abusive AH makes someone an AH, not hypothetical choices made under emotional/psychological duress.

      What’s he providing when hem not even working? He leaves his messes for her to clean up when she comes home. What’s there to be happy about in this marriage with the attitude he has? I was in an emotionally abusive marriage and stayed for 10 years before I worked up the courage to leave. I was more worried about supporting my 2 children and the mind can work against you making you think you can’t do it alone, but I was lucky enough to have a supportive mother who allowed us to live with her. But this woman would have been better off if she had left before she got pregnant. Don’t know if he just got worse after losing his job or if he was like this all along. 🤷🏼‍♀️

    Story 1: "I'm sad you are teaching your child a new language so early" _tired sigh_ Lady, no. Just no. The children have another extended family who happens to speak in another language, you do not get to say that crap after wanting to break them up.
    Story 2: First of all, no OP did nothing wrong in the BBQ and he needs to stop with his bs. Second, that move to Calgary reeks of isolating a victim for future abuse, OP said it herself they would be on their own so OP would have no support system and only an abuser for husband.
    Story 3: It was the money. Also what's with the comment of nail polish, like Huh????????? They may not want it but those two sorry excuse for parents will be left alone with only regrets and bitterness. None of what they did was loving or how a parent should be, and the fact that OP had to apologize for being mistreated???

    I feel like as a group we can administer hard truths and 'tough love' while still supporting victims and demonstrating empathy. People have no problem anonymously dumping on victims for failing to understand/leave abusive relationships while ignoring the actual originator of said toxicity. Abusers instinctively target previous victims, love-bomb, hide their true personality, gaslight, manipulate, triangulate and isolate partners who are then blamed for these behaviours as demonstrated here. Some criticism is constructive, much of it is simply hateful, sexist, unhelpful, ignorant and cruel: don't justify it by letting it go unchallenged. There is no such thing as a perfect victim and anyone can find themselves the target of abuse.
