      i put a strip of black electrical insulation tape over that white light on my g920, it's probably the best and easiest mod you can do to that wheel

    If I had room for a dedicated rig then I would definitely go this route, but I don't so I had to get a playseat challenge so I can fold it up out of the way when I'm done playing. I got a monitor arm similar to yours so I can move the screen as close to me as possible. It's actually not a bad setup, definitely better than clamping the wheel to my desk. When I eventually move I hope to have room for a dedicated rig

      If it works it works, I like the idea of the folding ones but I was worried that they would be too flimsy for me

    The sound is a little "rippled" at times, but I like it anyway. As for tips to make the rig better : just slap some leftover Infiniti parts on for extra power.

      Yeah I don't know why the mic was doing that, will be trying a different connection next time to mitigate it

    Handbrake, you need a handbrake for sure. Years ago I got a G27 and quickly found out a handbrake would be way better than a button or a shifter paddle. I was moving and saw the opportunity the build an all in one wooden sim rig / gaming desk / workstation. It's not perfect but it's a great first try and really playable. I made a triple monitor mount out of 1/2" plumbing galvanized iron tunings, different couplings and a floor flange screwed down on the table top. I later wanted to have an adapter for an aftermarket steering wheel but it's not recommended because it would become too heavy and too demanding on the 2.3nm FFB. Then I wanted mods for better feeling padels and another one for a better feeling h-shifter. I also really wanted to buy the Obokidly turn signal and wiper levers mods kit for G27 but it won't be compatible with the eventual Moza wheel that I'll buy. Instead I might have to use two 4 ways joystick and an arduino and maybe use the rest of the arduino capacity for a button box. Hope it gave you ideas for your sim rig.

    If you can find a CAD mouse like a spacemouse (the one that doesn't move but leans and rotates) secondhand, you could mount it like a BMW iDrive controller near the gearstick and make it a bit more immersive, but still usable in game

    Nice structure, i’ve been checking some other diy racing cockpits out of PVC tubing, but that might be a lot of work

    • @automotiveflux
      @automotiveflux  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That would look cool but I imagine drilling holes in it would suck

      yeah maybe, I might give it a try when I have space tho

    Put two 2X2 wood supports between the wheel and monitor mount on the underside of the 2X4 stands. It might add strength and sturdier base to it. Amazing build my guy gunna use this a a guide for when I have the space to do it myself 😃

    You need 2 pieces of wood on back of steeringwheel mount to support it.thats so floppy.i use 45 degree cut supports

    logitech g hub should have drivers for the wheel included inside of the ghub software, install that and everything should have worked with 0 issues

    what would need to be changed to accomodate for taller people? as in would it need to be longer, shorter, wider etc, for reference im 194cm

    • @automotiveflux
      @automotiveflux  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Longer most likely, if you are building something like this just find the most comfortable position for you

    I've heard that misshifting is really easy on the logitech shifter, but there are a ton of mods for it online, so maybe you could also mod it and improve it?

    • @Sithhy
      @Sithhy ปีที่แล้ว

      It's easy only if you have it mounted in the wrong place. My G27 shifter is more loose than it should be yet I can't remember the last time I actually misshifted with it despite having all of it mounted on my desk

    Personally, i would have removed the fan from the old AIO and put it on the back where the AIO was, extra airflow wont hurt

    Just some el-cheapo metal brackets make them from old license plates or something screw them on every joint on there it’ll make a difference. Your doin good though your driving is somewhat painful to watch lol

    • @automotiveflux
      @automotiveflux  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Metal brackets are a good idea, helps keep the weight down by not needing extra wood

    • @oleskool6259
      @oleskool6259 ปีที่แล้ว

      This sounds crazy but you can actually use aluminum beers cans an if you cut them right an kinda wrap them or whatever use some self tapping screws that will strengthen areas up. Definitely lighter and it’s not like your jumping on it and going crazy.

    Ah yes, i wonder why :)
    EDIT: Oh, might be a speed limiter on the car lol
