Ive made a decision on the .300 win mag, i will be hunting bear, elk, deer an lots of packing, hopefully lol. With so many guns out there its hard to choose one. So ive narrowed my choices to the Ridgeline or tikka 3x lite black/veil? Any thoughts would be much appreciated. The tikka is about $1200 ridgeline bout $1900-2000. Planning on shooting out to 600 yards hunting. Ive held both guns an the christenson arms seems a little lighter an you could see why its $2000 in person. That being said thru google seen lots of people frustrated with the ridgeline an CA customer service. I found 1 negative review it seemed only on the tikka. Everyone seemed to love the tikka. I just want to buy 1 gun that is very accurate an no issues.
Justin,I will try my best to help. .300 win mag is perfect for what you need, but for rifle, that’s a different story. I think before you pick the rifle, you should make sure you have the best glass you can afford for the riflescope, I personally like vortex razor Lht. For the rifle, they are very different. Tikka will have sub Moa accuracy and a super smooth bolt, but the stock will be extremely crappy and plasticky and you don’t get a carbon barrel or stock. The Christensen will have all carbon and will be a better feel and will feel like a good rifle. The Christensen are hit or miss for quality control, but if you do get a good one they are the best rifle you can buy under 2000 in my opinion. Get the Christensen if you have the money, but there is always a chance you will get a lemon, so take that with a grain of salt.
im trying to do something very similar just a different stock so ur video is really encouraging. to shoot those 215's did u have the chamber throated for them or did you just use the christensen barrel exactly how they chambered it?
I just bought the same rifle, same caliber. When you ordered your stock from Stocky’s, what action / rifle did you order it for? Or what specs did you provide to order it? Did it come fully inletted? I don’t see anything in that same stock available for a Christen Arms on the Stocky’s website. Thank you for sharing all of the details of what you did in putting together your setup.

Hey great video. Did you do a full glass bedding or did you just bed the pillars? I just got the same stock but with the adjustable cheek piece. I was wondering what i should do? I think for me bedding the pillars is in my lane. A complete bedding job I would have to have somebody do it. Thanks for your time.
No. It was simple. That stock has been discontinued but a few configurations are still available. Most likely you’ll need to go straight to AG Composites website. I should have some more stock reviews coming.

It will most likely be accurate with the 180s but I wouldn’t shoot 180s in a 30 cal. If you want to shoot 180s get a 7. Keep in mind when reloading every rifle shoots differently so a load will need to be developed for the rifle. I would also suggest looking at the Fierce rifles if you’re going to shoot factory ammo.

It’s just the SAAMI chamber. With the boat tail junction at the neck/shoulder junction the bullet is .020 off the lands.

You need the one for a Remington 700 BDL M24 contour. You will have to grind out where the side bolt release is.

How durable is the hydro-dip? Nice job I would be interested in the KUIU Vias pattern.
If applied correctly it’s as durable as any other finish. I would recommend Utah Hydrographics or Black Ice Coatings. Both do excellent work.
I really like the rifle. Did you paint the stock yourself or it was done by Stocky's, the pattern is something I want to have when I build my rifle.

I completely bed the action. I do not bed forward of the recoil lug.

It’s the cartridge it’s chambered in. If you’re not going to reload I would strongly suggest looking at a 300 Win.

The 30 Nosler is a .308 caliber cartridge designed by Nosler. The parent cartridge is the .404 Jeffery.

How much of a reduction in recoil did that slayer have vs the redial?
I’m not sure there was big reduction in recoil but it made a huge difference in muzzle rise. It made spotting shots easy.
Hey what kind of velocity are you getting with the 215 hybrids?
This rifle is 2990. My other SAAMI chambered 30 Nosler is 3030. They will go faster but that’s where accuracy is.
