I was so amped for weeks about the prospect of being able to see him here in the Bay Area; it happened on June 17 at the San Jose Civic. It was such a special experience that I’m considering seeing him again on September 14 in Modesto if I can figure out how to make it affordable.
What the heck was going on with Lukather during the first song? Either his guitar was way out of tune or he was exploring a key that had nothing to do with the song being played. Strange...
I saw them a day before in Bend, OR, they were awesome, I was completely mind blown. And I got to fulfill my dad’s long time dream of seeing a Beatle live.

@@Hegstuffing I went back and listened with headphones and the singing is coming from the band (not anyone in the crowd). I can tell the difference from the ambiance of the voices. I’m assuming you’re asking because some of it sounds a little “shaky”. Africa is obviously a tough song to sing. To be honest I didn’t even know Steve was a singer. Does he sing the lead on that song when Toto performs these days? I was impressed that he had such a cool voice; and was able to play leads simultaneously with singing.
@@JonBlackstone The vocal sounded so dry and *so* awful, I was nearly convinced it was someone in the crowd. Lukather sang backing vocals on all of the Toto albums and at least one lead vocal per record, I believe.. maybe more. I'd have to check, it's been awhile. David Paich sang the original song w/ Bobby Kimball singing the high part in the chorus. I've always loved Toto. Had the pleasure of seeing them once in 85 when Jeff Pocaro was still w/ us. That high part in Africa is no walk in the park lol.

Look at Paul McCartney today in comparison to Ringo. Of course Ringo has improved his appearance, lots of people do if have the money. His agility & physical condition is the result of hard work with his trainers. But he looks awesome & sounds great. ROCK ON RINGO ❤

From 1987-1993, I did concert security for Bill Graham, the BIGGEST/MOST LEGENDARY concert promoter in the world. I worked many many countless great concerts. I worked Ringo's FIRST Allstars tour at Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, California. If I can remember who was in the band at the time.. RINGO.. (OF course) Levon Helm - drums (Rip) Jim Keltner - drums Rick Danko - Bass Dr. John - Keyboards (Rip) Billy Preston - Keyboards (Rip) Joe Walsh - Guitar Nils Lofgren- Guitar Clarence Clemons - Saxophone (Rip) Sold out house 20,000. If I remember correctly, this was 1989. Aside from doing concert security, I also did stagehand work. I've met numerous musicians and even hung out with some of them. Edgar Winter was one of them. After getting done doing load out, Edgar was still there in his dressing room. He came out and invited the small group of stagehands to come drink a cold beer with him. We took pictures, but surprisingly, Edgar wanted pictures of him WITH EACH OF US for... HIS CAMERA.

My father in law is 84. He is ready for the wheelchair. Ringo will be 83 very soon, and he looks like the youngest guy up there. He can still play, and his voice sounds like it did in the 1960s. He's a walking miracle. Great post, thanks!!!

I don’t want to offend Ringo at all, but if he had worked for 30 years: a steelworker, a truck driver or a security guard in a supermarket, and was not a super star, you would have looked at how he looked after thirty years of survival ....

Money affords personal trainers, personal vegetarian chefs, make up artists and stylists and the ability to pass off just about any responsibility onto a paid employee. I have no illusions as to why wealthy people seem to age better. Having said that, I can’t think of any of his rock star peers who have aged as well as he has. So I have to give him some credit.

I saw Ringo already 30 years ago - THIRTY YEARS - with Dave Edmunds, Todd Rundgren, Zak, in the lineup - and he didn't changed a little since then! He is incredible 83 years old now. Unbelievable. Thanks for sharing.

While I do love Paul and the fact that he still sells out packed stadium concerts even after 50 years, there’s something about Ringo performing in these more smaller, intimate, up-close settings for his fans that just feels so personal and heartwarming! I’m sure the people who paid an exorbitant amount of $, love that girl blocking their view through the entire show. I admit she has a nice build, but after a while, I imagine it got annoying.
Thanks for watching. She was driving everyone around her nuts by being the only person dancing while everyone else wanted to sit and enjoy the performance. I filmed her butt to cement her place in history. Butt in the end she paid for tickets so she has the right to dance if she wants.

Not bad for a boy born in an old English port city in 1940. I believe he used to play a drum kit for some ancient rock and roll band back in the '60s or something. Pretty good. I wish him some form of success eventually. The other guys seem to be talented as well. (Thanks for the upload)

It's really cool of Ringo going off the stage and letting his band just rock off by themselves.
While I do love Paul and the fact that he still sells out packed stadium concerts even after 50 years, there’s something about Ringo performing in these more smaller, intimate, up-close settings for his fans that just feels so personal and heartwarming!
He’s always been an absolutely talented man with an even bigger heart! ❤

I have seen Ringo since his first concert in 1989 in Atlantic City NJ, never disappoints, cannot believe you are just seeing him. Always a good time.
I saw Ringo back around 2000 in St. Paul. Back then he had Eric Carmen, Jack Bruce, Dave Edmunds among others… it was a great show. Thanks for posting the 2023 version! It’s awesome to see that he’s still going strong! The All-Starr band concept was an ingenious idea!

Not bad for a boy born in an old English port city in 1940. I believe he used to play a drum kit for some ancient rock and roll band back in the '60s or something. Pretty good. I wish him some form of success eventually. The other guys seem to be talented as well.
