      Good enough for me! I think I am a little more strict when it comes to NES than SNES. I know there were a few graphical differences, and DK didn't play perfect, but I'm good with it.

    being able to play both pal ntsc and ntsc-j games is a good feature than the original hardware was (intentionnaly) not capable of. i just purchased while watching this video human grand prix iv, because i learned that, despite being only released in japan, the game features english in-game texts only. i'm so happy i'm gonna be able to play a game that never was released in pal and it's probably my favorite game ever.

    I'm impressed!!
    In the gameplay comparison section between the SNES Classic and Retron, it looks like the Retron has a video filter of some sort, as the pixelated edges appear softer, but doesn't over do it by making it look cheesey. Awesome Review as always! 👍

    Patton what output were you using? Composite or HDMI? The reason I ask is because my aspect ratio screen plays 16:9 when the switch is set to 4:3 with the composite cables. It runs 4:3 with HDMI only.

    • @PattonPlays
      @PattonPlays  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    • @domls1317
      @domls1317 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PattonPlays the problem seems to be the TV itself. I hooked up the suparetron to a newer Flatscreen I have with HDMI and the aspect switch works for 4:3 and 16:9. With composite it doesnt switch to 16:9 but rather stays on 4:3 which is better than staying stretched on the other TV. But I checked the older flatscreen and on HDMI the aspect switch works too. I thought it didnt. So its just composite where it doesnt switch back and forth.
      Same results with Retron HD although for the aspect to change with the HDMI hooked up you had to reset the system or turn off and then on after you switched the aspect ratio first.

    • @domls1317
      @domls1317 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PattonPlays but I think it looks the most authentic thru a CRT even if it is composite and plays a lot better with no input lag.
      I tried to downscale the Suparetron from HDMI to Component with a converter upscaler/downscaler but it wouldn't display a stable picture.
      (The converter worked beautifully with the Sega Genesis Mini on the CRT and the LED by getting rid of the pixelated look.)

    He was talking earlier about that he had the other console that played both super Nintendo and then NES games and he did not like it but I can tell you that there has to be something with the quality control so many other people say that one's so good and the audio is good and everything so I really truly think it just depends if you have a good batch from the manufacturer cuz you know hyperkin is not known for consistent quality

At least AtGames knew when to step up their "GAME" (early 2018) to deliver a quality product. At this point in time, I do not trust or believe in Hyperkin to say the least. Total garbage IMHO!!! I’m holding out for the Super Nt. I will *never* buy another Hyperkin console. After being burned twice, I’ll buy actual paper weights at appropriate prices.
    The Super Nt hasn’t been out of stock long. About two months, I think. Probably sold out of their stock when the world went to hell. I contacted Analogue when I went to buy mine (got the Mega Sg while I still had the chance) and they told me there was no timeframe whatsoever to get any more...I’m assuming because so much manufacturing has been shit down. That’s okay. I’ll wait.

      And here we are Thanksgiving of 2020 and no Analogue Super NT. I bought a Hyperkin SupaRetron HD as a result. If I'd known about the Analogue Super NT when it was initially offered I would've bought one, but I'm always the last to know about these things.

    • @SumDumGy
      @SumDumGy 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Andrew Hunn, Keeping up can be tough. You can sign up for Anaolgue’s email newsletter, but they almost never use it. If you’re on Twitter, follow them there. Once you make a purchase, you get text notifications as opposed to emails about products.
      Now that Analogue has shipped the last batch of Nt Minis (I get mine tomorrow), perhaps they’ll use some factory time for more Super Nts around their production schedule for the Pocket. Fingers crossed I’ll still be able to afford one once they become available again.

  • @piratestation69

    I have the analogue nt... never will i go back. Im curious about composite mode. How well light guns work... another solution is getting a real snes with 1 chip version 2 mixed with hdretrovision cables. Sound and video quality is spot on and playing on original hardware. I have that as well. For light guns to work on a analogue nt one must acquire the hdmi to analog board. Good luck with that.

    I know this video is a year old, but I own it and the Scout controllers are trash. The control pad are super unresponsive and the 4 buttons to the right are delayed badly. The console itself doesn't play certain games correctly and some games do not play at all. Super Mario World that I own, nothing wrong with my copy, the system will randomly glitch certain animations and deaths, playing A Link to the Past, the hit boxes are all over the place when playing in the console, The Magical Quest Starring Mickey Mouse the second boss can't be seen at all, and Tiny Toon Adventures Buster Busts Loose's title screen only shows up have way. We own a Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island and we had to force the system to get that started as the system has a hard time reading the SFX-1 and 3 chips in the console. We're pretty sure that the system is unable to read any SA-1 chip games entirely as that requires a stronger processor to run and the Supa Retron HD just doesn't have that capability to do so. I would love to hear your experience with some of the games that I've mentioned if you've actually had similar problems and update this video in the future if you find any issues that I've discovered myself. Hyperkin is already aware of these issues and is looking into the problems that my brother and I have reported to them about the console

    I honestly would pay a reasonable price for an FPGA if i would find one which i don't sadly

    Take absolutely nothing away from the Scout controllers. Quite possibly the best interpretation of a SNES controller. I hear you say that they feel a little light, so what? It also feels durable and a unique take on the original design without being such a copy that it's a ripoff of the original. Those kind usually are too cheaply made, feel cheap too and simply don't last long. Love the eject button, hardly any other emulators give one and it's definitely nice. I never had compatibility issues, so far it plays every SNES game I've put in it. The aspect ratio is undoubtedly a preference. Some prefer the original aspect ratio, I like something that fills the screen, to each their own. Like all other emulators compared to the system it's emulating the console itself doesn't feel quite as durable as the original, but this definitely feels better than most other emulators and that with very minimal care that it will likely last. Definitely worth the price. Also love 2 controllers, do a bit of research and many Hyperkin consoles either only give 1 or only give 2 IF it's a 2 in 1 design (in which case you get 1 of each) so 2 controllers is definitely nice, especially as Hyperkin sells them separately at $15 each (at least on the sites I'm seeing) which is nearly half the cost of the system. Normally I can find at least one complaint on any emulator (especially Hyperkin's 3 in 1 as it requires separate controllers depending on which system your playing and then doesn't include a NES controller (only Genesis & SNES) so straight out of the box you can't even play all of the compatible games it offers) here with this SNES emulator of theirs I've no complaints whatsoever. Might also check out Hyperkin's Sega Genesis emulator, I don't have one........yet, but I've heard just as much good about it as well.

    Seriously when can we get the n64 clone consoles??? It's not like Nintendo is putting them on Switch for us to enjoy.

      I think it's because there is no reliable hardware or software that does a really good job at playing the games. If one were to come out I would love it.

      The recent emulator for the n64 really improved, same as the game cube to.
      The only problem is to add it in a portable console.
      So far, I know that people are jailbreaking their ps3 to make it work.
      I'd need to try it but need to really read the proper way to do it because there's a risk unfortunately.

    Feel a lot of people are forcing themselves to like hyperkin consoles because of the price and design, but the sound quality is freaking unbearable. The graphics are so dark also. Hyperkins make great controllers and that’s it.

    Really really bad system its one of the worst Soc snes clone, it have motion blur, everything gets soft when the character moves but sharp when standing still and you can also see the warping artifact around a moving characters and it also have transparency problem and it all becouse the cheap upscaler/converter they have used that process the 240p video as 480i...
