Hey guys, today we are going to compare and install cheap LED headlights on my KTM 300 XC. These bikes come pre-wired for the lights, but there is a need for a switch install and possibly little rewiring on the connector. In this video I will share detailed step by step KTM headlight installation. Let me know your thoughts.

how to install ktm xc xcf husky fx tx headlight and led headlight review - ยานยนต์และพาหนะ
I bought the $55 light for my ktm 690 Enduro. Well worth the money. I don't understand how some of these light manufactures get away with charging hundreds for LEDs.
Great vid, very professional. Nice bike! I have been looking to upgrade my light on my XCW as well for the same reason, coming back late from the trails. Love it!
thanks bro!
Keep up the good work. I appreciate the info and typically enjoy your videos.
Thanks brother 👍
How does the Baja Designs light compare? That’s what I’d really like to see a comparison with.
The $70 light cut off is super clean and the light is uniform. I'd say having a uniform light with a clean cutoff is more important than raw brightness anyway.
Thanks for shedding light on thisbb
Been waiting for this one 🔥
what abouit a good tailight kit with license plate mount?
On my 2018 KTM 300 I had to put a trail tech stator with rectifier to convert AC to DC. Unfortunately it would burn out the LED if it remained AC power.
Can you send links for the connectors and switches needed?
I have just received the $55 headlight. Is there a way for the high beam and low beam switch to work the light?
few days ago I ordered my lamp for 450 sx-f from aliexpress a little different from your's $55
Where did you buy the headlight plastic?
How did you end up re pinning the $55 light?
I need a hesdlight for my 23 tx 300. Not aure what to get..
Can you mount this to any dirt bike?
Order put with affiliate links, All honda parts hope it works i even added the ktm light to my order and saved for later to tag it right
thanks brother, appreciate it!
Great video. Biggest win for me is the Stock one. Simply because if you're far from home and the light dies you could get an H4 bulb at any gas station.
true simplicity is the key especially for this kind of bike's it's cheaper to replace in a event of crashing or having a burn bulb
@THATASIANDUDE exactly. If you drive in hooligan inside the city all the time. Yeah Led looks better hands down.
But more allroad/offroad/adventure far away from home? Function over form formsure
That led will outlive 50x that bike lol
Do these fit smcr 2017?
would it be possible to swap a 2014 headlight for a 2018+ modern headlight if i also change the plastic housing
Yes i think so, not sure about the wire connectors but you can always swap them
Great video!
Thanks for your video. You are awesome . !!!
Hey, are you using a recitifier for the LED headlight? I have AC output on my exc and wonder how I would run an LED
Did you ever find your answer? You need a flasher relay for LED. Tacomoto sells them
Wait, can someone confirm that the 2024 XCF comes pre wired?? I’d love to add a headlight easily
Will these fit pit bikes
Jeez, get a handlebar switch for headlight with off, lo, hi positions. DRL when in the off position, and of course lo and hi on those respective positions.
Is the headlight running off of the ac circuit from the old headlight or did you have to connect it to dc current from somewhere/ using a rectifier?
Old wiring from stock harness. Only switch had to be added
@@dirtniron great, thanks!
There's no issue connecting the led's to an ac power supply?
stock wiring and power works no problem
I hv a 2017 KTM 250 xcf, it doesnt appear to be prewired for a headlight. Can someone confirm if my bike is prewired, i dont see that larger pigtail connection to power?
Simple to do they make a wire kit with factory style plugs. I did it on my 2018 250 sxf bought off Amazon I believe was 2 years ago when I did that.
Try Cyclops adventure sports they have a bulb replacement and a whole reflector replacement. Trail boss/pro I believe
I tried the cyclops bulb, it sprayed light everywhere except where I needed it, sent it back for a refund
@@yetiboy01australia23 interesting. That was not my experience at all. Way way more light and just about the same pattern as factory. And then I got the trail boss pro. That thing is unreal. To each their own.
How did you convert the AC power than comes stock on your carb 300 to DC power like 4 strokes and TPI bikes? That light should have burned out if you ran it on AC power and not DC power.
If the bike is e start dc is available
rectifier most likely. simple to do, better to buy one, rated for power consumption.
Not bad. I had a stock light on an 08 and it was terrible. A cheap flash light was better
Will these lights fit in my XC-W housing?
Yes, thats what i am using
Will these fit a 2022 KTM XCF 350?
Nice mate👌🏻
thanks mate!
I will change the ,,batman" headlight!😂 And put the 77$ one,way better! 💯Thanks Rado👌
Will this work with a 2013 Ktm 300xc?
yes I think so, check the listings they have the years there
Does the ktm 2023 sxf come pre wired
I am pretty sure they stopped that..
It looks like you have to use the oem headlite shell .
yes, the light is just the light.. you need to get the shell
@@dirtniron Yep. Kinda got ahead of myself. Good video.
Did you have the issue where it shines way to high? I turned it down to the max and still it shines way to high
mine was ok, but I have that expansion tank in the way soo that probably changes the angle a bit
You have to wire it for low beam, I had the same issue just changed the pin as I had two wires only for a four pin connector.
@@SingleTrackTherapy yea but i have a switch for high and low, and both just are aimed waay up.. its a ktm exc from 99
@@glenluyckx12 I see I bought the chinese knock off and it is a bit high on my Gas Gas also
I had the same problem, I ended up spacing out the top mounts with some washers & longer screws to lower the beam angle, works great now.
Do i have to rewire it on a XC-W
I am not sure, but I think so since xcw also doesn't have low/high beam switch
@@dirtniron yeah it does not have a highbeam switch. Might have to do it that way but it’s OK thanks a lot. I’ve been looking for a set of lights to put on my KTM. I’m just tired of out running the lights. Need something better thanks buddy.
@@dirtniron That is correct. With XC W you decide to wire in the low beam or high beams, or even all of them. Will depend on the wiring on the headlight you get. They usually send instructions.
I'm guessing I can't do this on my 2023 SX-F 350?
Yeah they are all the same from 250-500 exc
I’m looking at the plug on my stock 2023 ktm 350 sxf and it’s totally different from the one on his I just don’t see how that’s supposed to work
I’m using a cheapie LED - the OEM is $$$ to replace
works ok?
Your bike is carb model?
yes, 2017
That $55 lights can see more compared to the $70 lights. I doubt people will be buying that $70 lights when the $55 is way better
Real price ? 585pesos with shipping in the Philippines. Just over $11.00
Adding the lights together doesnt make it more bright its still only 3000lm
The next person will definitely love you.
The $55 headlight light looks best.
Would it be worth installing an in line capacitor to stop the LED from flickering on revs?
it only does it on low idle, I dont see it as a problem
I'm actually fairly sure that the carb model runs AC and they only started using 12v DC in the TPI models..a rectifier would help solve the flickering. Same on my beta when I installed an LED light. Works without it no issue but the rectifier make it work a little better
Does the ktm 2023 sxf come pre wired
I am pretty sure they dont
