Backpacks are definitely under rated . I recommend getting traveling pharmacy and the grocer backpack. When you jump in power armor .. your chems will probably weigh more than food . And your backpack doesn’t stay equipped in power armor
This is exactly what i do. Traveling pharmacy with the grocers backpack mod. The grocers OR chemists backpack mod are both wayyyyyy more beneficial than the high capacity backpack mod. Some people don't intuitively understand this, but in ninety-nine percent of circumstances, it will be more beneficial to reduce food&drink/chem&aid weight, opposed to increasing your bookbags carry capacity.
The high capacity bookbag mod increases your carry weight by what, like 60 pounds? It's more beneficial to turn, say, 100 pounds of food&drink into 10 pounds, than it is to increase your carry weight capacity by 60 pounds.
I think some new Scout challenges for a new backpack would be kinda cool . I think a Rucksack ( a large backpack for heavy loads ) , with mods that can give straight up weight reduction to items . Like weapons , armor , ammo , junk , chems and aid , and lastly food. Maybe even the coolest would allow to be added to power armor for more carry weight.
They should at least allow a backpack to have more than one mod. It makes no sense that it can only have one thing you can change when backpacks can be big, complicated things and especially survival/hiking backpacks.
That would be pretty cool to have a backpack for power armor!! It's kind of funny there's a mod in Fallout 4 that gives you a backpack for power armor and increases your carry capacity 😅
@@dustinzhane7329 You got one when you were in the vault when you started the game. Or at least, you had the opportunity to grab one. It would’ve initially only given you 5 pounds but you can upgrade it every 10 levels up to level 50 for a total of 30 pounds. Everything helps when you’re starting out. Add pockets and especially deep pockets to your armor. Each piece of armor with the pockets mod gives you another 5 pounds.. if each piece has the deep pockets mod, then they each give you an additional 10 pounds. And since you seemingly did miss the free small backpack at the beginning, there is a mission/quest that you can do thats fairly simple that will give you the plan for that backpack.

Just got back into 76 after years of a hiatus. I went to the airport without the Responder's quest active, made it to the cache and no backpack plans. If i play through the Responder's questline, and make jt back to the airport, will the plans spawn in the cache then?
That's a strange one as 90% of the time it should be there. It might be a case that you oringally picked up the plan back in the day and possibly learned the plan already or sold it by mistake? I would definietly try and work your way through the responders questline and see if it does spawn for you, however upon failure of that I would try and work through the order of the tadpole quest to get the standard backpack plan 3:10
@P3nAlPineapple had a friend show me a different location (the cache outside of wayward), and a backpack was there. Haven't checked the airport since. I have had some other glitches of events or items not being their when they should. Usually a world switch fixes it.
Small backpack plan has now been moved to the overseer cache, which is just opposite the wayward next to the workbenches. The wayward is one of the first buildings you will come across. From vault 76, head south to Gilman lumber mill, then follow the road south east and by the river at the end of the road is the wayward. I do believe if you start as level 20 you will have a backpack already. If you do go the the Morgan town airport as described in this video be aware that a quest reward from that crate that used to have the back back plan in does have a tiny % to drop a very rare apparel, the responder fireman outfit. If you get this item it is extremely valuable for trade. (The responder paramedic and responder police outfit have no value and is almost certainly what you will get.)

Yeah no this game is terrible boring missions that all have 27 steps 😂 what a joke the first few main mission are just the same thing but you get something different 😂 the basic training the fire fighter and this it’s all the same 27 step mission to get basic items you need to enjoy the game 😂

I got my first backpack from a guy who sold me an Ouga backpack plan for 30 caps (this was 2 years ago; I hope he’s doing well).
