So tired of seeing everyone’s floating perfectly pristine platform with 80 water purifiers.
2:20 "i've seen a house before" bold assumption, sir
-oh 🫢
Being able to connect power through walls has got to be the best kept secret and should be the #1 thing people are learning to help them keep a clean structure
its super helpful for sure!
what about conduits?
I've been playing since Beta and I just learned that trick. I am absolutely FLOORED.

🤣
'Barf Building' is a fantastic name for that crap. 🤣
let’s get it into the lore
@@misterchurch666riiiight into the nooooooooodes
I call these types of builds a Yard Sale.
Genuinely can't stand it XD have to resist the urge to drop a nuke
@@adeleintho u know u want something from my yard sale damnit!
i never thought id see the day my civil engineering degree would come in handy in my gaming life, but tip 2 was specifically talking to my soul.
😂
If only I had found your channel before I did my first house... so many lawsuits and a pretty hefty sentence for involuntary man's laughter. 😉😂💗
Oh nooo hopefully you have a good lawyer
The most important tip for new builders:
"Don't waste a lot of time trying to build a perfect building, Bethesda hasn't made many improvements over the years in the Fallout series... and you're going to run into problems placing items"
Just drop a few turrents around your resource collectors and call it good, otherwise you're just going to end up getting pissed off.
And prob still will tbh 🤣
Thank you for all your tips Mr. Church. I'm a lvl 48, and had a lvl 1300 tell me my base looked like I'm a veteran. I used drop merging and raising to create a 2 story house on top of the boat from the dock disaster bundle.
Awesome! You’re already breaking out the trigonometry, you’ll go far 😂
@misterchurch666 I was wondering. Are the blue cabinets in the modern home bundle that's on the shop right now part of the floating group?
@@jasomon2115 I already own everything from that set, so it’s not showing up for me in bundles, so I’m not 100% sure. But if it looks like the kitchen cabinets from inside fallout 4 houses, then yes.
In terms of decorating, I have a two story rectangle building. I made the building very basic on purpose because the inside of the bottom floor is filled with things I’ve collected over the last 5 years. Any nuka cola items, all fasnacht masks, I have a complete bobble head stand, an entire corner of my camp is based on the silver shroud and the other incredibles with all the magazines. I’ve made it very homey and that’s the theme you can see with mine. It’s very personal to me. The second floor I made a nuka cola/Slocum joe diner that my friends keep saying they’re jealous of lol
"Bitchelony"
Poetry sir, just pure poetry.
Viewing of this video should be mandatory before the build mode is available in the game.
😂 the poor fellas
In my own defense I built the bare minimum outside and then went ham on the vault.
I’d also like to add that you can also use the casino wall arches to double arch I’ve done it and since the don’t have an overhang it looks good for indoor uses
That electric wire trick is clutch, thanks!
🙏🏻 old trick from a TH-camr named Jug
As someone who has not taken enough time to build my camp I understand. I put a little effort so I don't float.
But the absolute rant of someone just trying to make the world better. I love that. It makes me consider more effort
I’m here for peak commentary 😂❤
Love your energy man.
The selfdwprication and dryness made me lol.
You earned a sub.
There are so many quotable gems in this video! haha I am a big fan of natural looking builds. Nothing bothers my tism like a floating building...
For the "floating foundations" build steps down and place a foundation in the ground then remove the steps. You may or may not be able to then have your main foundations look right without a gap underneath. Sometimes it doesnt like a foundation over a foundation situation.
The ramps you mean? True true
@@misterchurch666Ive always just used the basic stairs to make it go down a level and then snapped a foundation to that.
Wym bro i need help im on ps4@@electrontransferconduit657
this video is making me reimagine my camp and it's location, thank you so much for these tips
Glad you found it helpful!
you have helped me upgrade my camp game so much. Thank you a ton! Another swell mister church production once again!
Thank you!
I get so bent seeing a floating unsupported building.
Every time someone builds a floating box, Mister Church dies inside.
Hundreds of stimpaks are wasted on reviving him every day.
Please be considerate. Save our stimpaks. Don't build a floating box.
I’m mister church, and I approve this message
Brilliant! Putting this one on speed dial for all the lovely newbies I meet in the Wasteland ❤❤
Thanks Aussie! ☺️
Appreciate the in depth tutorial a lot.
Never really dived into building aside from decorations and I’ve been playing 76 since Beta lol. Will probably get into it soon. I had wish I watched before creating it though, but thankfully they have the option to make a second Camp.
Always enjoyed seeing other player’s homes and what they come up with.
The other day I ran into someone who made a whole “haunted” maze in their shelter, it was frustrating yet funny.
Just recently got into details builds. This is a great help
I like to have visually pleasing builds, have 2 camps and a shelter which I think I did pretty well with. have a trading post which sits on the mountains overlooking cranberry, I recently revamped, have very little dead space around, single turret to stop the few enemies from breaking my stupid crops. have a house which sits between 4 large trees in the forest by a small lake with some docks. The only really dead space being between the foyer and dining area. this camp lacks a shop so I turned my root cellar into a Free States flea market to work as it's shop. it does have 2 turrets as there are 3 groups of enemies normally fighting around me, tons of free weapons and armor to scrap but they regularly kill 1 very specific barhmin in the camp. don't completely understand merging yet, know a few tricks that sometimes work.
Little side note, I refer to "Barf builds" as "Look at me's!"
Omg "barf building" 😅 Exactly the word I was looking for. I can't count the amount of time I spent walking around these looking for their vendor and then just gave up because I couldn't find it among all the crap. So not only do they not make sense, but it can also lose you sales and caps building like that. Not that my building is great, but at the very least you can easily find where to buy my crap 😂
Excellent video introducing the essentials of camp building to save on time, materials and frustration with the inclusion of links to other specific techniques to improve builds even more! Thanks, misterchurch!😻
Thanks for checking out the video! I hope you didn't learn anything from it 😂
@@misterchurch666 I have trouble making immersive builds and learned to focus on a story idea that makes sense to me to guide the process…and a cold glass of milk always helps!😉😻🥛
I once blew up my friend's base in Minecraft because I also had physics OCD. It was 100 squares stacked up - like a 1 block huge tower - and then a giant square box at the top. The worst part is that the "support" wasn't even centered, it was on one of the corners of that giant square box.
Oh man thanks for sharing the tips church! Wish I knew a lot of these when starting.
Would have saved me years. If there’s one issue I had to work on with building camps, it’s my writing of these extremely complex and lengthy Steven King-esque novels before even placing down one foundation. Idk, It really just helps me understand why the bowl of fruit would be sitting next to poker chip on the kitchen counter.
Joking aside, appreciate you helping out all the new folks!
That was something that I had to work on too. For me, it was about making sure the character arcs of the fruit in the bowl made sense and wasn't too rushed. Thanks for checking out the video and for the support

That Double Walling blows my mind, thanks for that!
The problem with the spawn point is that it's different for yourself and others. Never figured out how it works, so I ask some friends to test whenever I wanna build in a new location.
Mister Church has yet to see my C.A.M.P yet he spent the first 3 minutes of this video ROASTING ME. Lol, looks like I'll be re-doing my base..
10:38 - Bethesda really needs to add interior walls into Fallout 76.
Edited: and ceilings.
You can create internal walls with a trick that requires the warehouse building set. Place a warehouse wall doorway on the interior then rotate 180 and add another in the same spot, this will create inner walls on both sides. After this use the replace function on the warehouse walls with your desired walls.
"I've seen a house before, what did it look like🤔" 😂😂
Funny as hell and informative! Love it!
Thank you, you explain always everything clearly and these tricks are really useful!

You forgot to say what the best build for a base is....one foundation two levels of stairs...big ass 7x7 cube in the sky...fill this with all that cool atom shop stuff you have bought because we all want to make sure you have given the Todd enough money to keep his soul alive.
oh how beautiful would that be
What piece did you use for those wooden support struts @ 25:40 in the build transformation holding up the upper level? Been looking for a piece like that but havent been able to find what its called or what menu its in
That is a wall from the pavilion set! It is a season scoreboard reward, but probably will be in the atom shop in the future. In the meantime, if you have the flamer trap, you can place the normal wooden shack wall and burn it, and it will give you a similar wood strut look
@@misterchurch666 damn, i was hoping it was free, seems like a pretty basic and essential piece 😂 thanks for letting me know
Slowly having to redo my camp. Had a beautiful semi modern greenhouse builld originally. Was away from the game for about a year and during that time; the camp no longer can get put down. So slowly redoing it.
Loved that old camp too due to how well my garden looked.
"Just like I said, 'I'm not going to go down'". Real man of culture. Great video too.
Wonderful tips, thanks for sharing your ideas. Could I ask, where on the map are you showing at the start of the video? It is very nice location to build. I tried searching around Horizon's Rest but could not locate that nice spot. Thanks!
I found the location, just by Overlook Cabin! :)
yeah you got it!
@8:30 how do you get stuff on the bookshelves? The same way you would for the display cases?
Those are floor items placed on top of the shelf and merged down. If you want to learn more about merging I recommend Nuka violets the art of merging
Thank you for just the tip(s) with ❤ from Wisconsin
yw step bro!
Thanks Mr Church! Great tips -as always👍
Thank you!
REALLY GOOD VIDEO MR. CHURCH, REALLY ENJOYED IT
Thank you!
Wonderful video! Thank you so much for this.
Thank you!
I feel like I wanna go just make the worst settlement to trigger everyone now. 😂
That spawn poi t is a GREAT tip. I consistently spawn in a cliff face
lol man you remind me of Travis on diamond city radio. Very entertaining.
BARF building!! Love it, so true
Good thing to do if you do double wall use barn set for the doorway when you want to have a clean outline for the door
Very educational, while staying Classic Mr Church. Love it.
thank you!
Lots of love awesome as always😉
Thank you! ❤️
I will never understand the "football stadium" houses, just saw one 10 minutes ago right on the road that goes from The Wayward to the Slocum's Joe. I counted and it was 7x7 on each floor and it was three floors high. It had no windows just the plain Vault walls and Vault floors... the roof was a mess too, bunch of tiny triangle peaks and squares mixed, and almost nothing inside, blocked the whole road by a lot on each side... WHY!?
Ours is not to question why, ours is just to see camps fly
Question I have. When building how do you pull and push items closer/farther from you in free cam ? I had a very large blueprint I was using for a Plyon camp the other day and I could get get my camera far enough away to snap it to the post I was using as an anchor….mad I was
If you’re on pc, the mouse wheel moves it. If you’re on console, press and hold the “place” button and pull your joystick back and forth to move.
You can also raise and lower objects on console by holding the place button and using r1/l1 on ps (which I think is the bumpers on Xbox)
@@misterchurch666 perfect! Much thank you! As our Supreme Leader Howard says “It just works”. How in the world would any reasonable person discover this stuff save accidentally sitting in the controller? 😂
To be fair the next thing I was gonna try WAS spinning in a circle three times and reciting my name backwards
@@xWebdriverTorso that’s a common mistake, I wouldn’t be too hard on yourself
Been playing since the Beta. Admittedly still peeves me to see floating box camps, especially when it is on my camp location. Often it is a foundation with some benches slapped down. Meanwhile I got a heavily decorated cottage that had a lot of effort put into it.
One of my camps has a store front/Comedy show on the second floor with a crafting and gaming area on the 1st floor however if you go past the do not enter signs and go to the backroom you may find a secret Dr Frankenstein type dungeon complete with experiments 😮
sounds cool!
I love this video, also the humor. XD
Excellent guide. Let’s hope lots of new players see it. I don’t really mind the ugly camps, they make me laugh, cheap sort of entertainment. But I do love to stumble on a beautiful build and enjoy the workmanship that goes into some of those camps.
A great idea would be for you to rate camps. I wouldn't mind you reviewing my camp and giving your take on how to make it better.
Hiya, I am really struggling to do the power armor leg upgrades for violet flux, do you have a guide? Also where to find the Ultracite? I stumbled across one in a nuke zone and mined it, but all my flora just spoils and the materials to make the flux seems like a grind and I am not enjoying myself with it all.
My carry weight in power armor is 250 and I generally clean up to about 190/250, I am using your Plasma Caster build and am level 109
you can farm ultracite in the glassed caverns in the cranberry bog! I would try buying some flux for caps, there are a lot of people who would be able to help ya out, would be easier than trying to farm it yourself if youre struggling with it
Excavator pa while mining Ultracite, Green Thumb for harvesting the flora & Super Duper for crafting the flux. The hardest thing to farm, imo, is the high-rad fluid. Fortunately, it only takes one fluid to make a flux.
Also, if you wait until the zone clears, the plants & animals will still be nuked versions but you won't have to deal with the radiation.
@@aestevalis0 oh that's good info on perk cards, I will swap to a farming setup. I have a full set of Excavator 3 star that I have collected.
@@misterchurch666 Cheers, went today, yes lots of the ore, but I don't get any recipes for the ammo. Is it a perk card?
@@aestevalis0 cheers, i loaded those perks , I only have the X-01 armor set but farmed enough flora and killed a huge amount of mobs and ants in the pink tree forest area? I was able to upgrade both legs and get my jump pack, love it so much.
Fantastic as usual. I still need help 1000 levels in 😅
You can do it, annie, I believe in you (for some reason)!!
@@misterchurch666 Slanted roofs are the bane of my existence. Gravity too.
Love that new Fusion generator so much no wires 😅 best atom shop buy for sure i just need to get better at building a nice house without it looking like a damn squares 🤦🏻
Can a random player come but and pick up items you placed down for decoration, like the stack of corn?
Also I use a basic blueprint camp with a cooking fire place, my stash box two benches and a couple sleeping bags as a secondary camp that I can just place down wherever I’m at to use the benches and stash box when I get over weighted.
No, you can't place items as decor, unless they are in display cases (in which case the item is actually in your stash box). The corn is a floor decor item from the Hannukah bundle that's sometimes in the atom shop!
Great video, easy sub👍🏽
Love the video. You are hilarious!
Was that a short sleeve vault suit I saw at the beginning? If so, what/where can I get it
It’s an outfit called the vault survivor suit, it was on the scoreboard a year or so ago, might be in the atom shop eventually
22:17 the trap blueprint
😇
Dear Mr. Church, I have a question about the contractor perk card. Does it also make your built item use up less "flamingos" or building cost per item? Thank you from an OldBoob, oops OLDNOOB
Unfortunately no 😤
dude... I have almost 600 HOURS in this game and this video is how I learned that your CAMP module location influences your spawn location..... better late than never tho thanks for the tips!!!!!
I didn’t know it for a long time either 🫨
very good video! thanks man

New fav channel
First off I love your videos. Been playing a long time and love building. I saw you had a barn door blueprint. How did you do that? I was wanting to utilize that door and I'm sure the blueprint is easier than how I've been trying to do it. ☺️
Thank you! I learned the blueprint from this video: th-cam.com/video/gzvJgO03WhM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8zshDy_im_zOXk6T
But if you are wanting something easier this probably isn’t it 😂 it took me like an hour to make and half the time it doesn’t go down. I usually burn the door out and do it that way
@@misterchurch666 thank you so much. 🤗
Speaking of shrubbery 😂 thanks for the engaging and fun and also helpful pointers and tips
Visiting other peoples Barf building feels so natural to me
Looking at your clutered builds looks so good ehat?
Very nice.
How many camp slots do you have in game?
I'm a 1st member , just started playing, am level 76 and have 2 camp slots.
Any cool quests for CAMP stuff?
I can't find the big power generator and can't seem to get power inside, all my generators are inside and hooked up to stuff which looks stupid. I like your tio for conduit wires. I will try that
There are 10 available slots, they recently added five more. I have 6 and am planning to get them all - but if you don’t have to build new camps as much as I do you prob don’t need them all for a while 😂 good quests for camp items - I would check out Vinnie Costa at Big Bend Tunnel East, he gives you a series of quests daily, and there are good plans there. Also, if you do the powering up power plant events, you unlock generators you don’t own yet, one at a time until you know them all.
Also! You don’t need as much power as you think you do. Lots of lights can be run off one small generator
Weird, video quality isn't available on this video? Is this a client issue on my end or an option when uploading?
How do you get the fallen door into the foundation? I watched the other video and you never mentioned it.
The one in the overgrown modern house? I just put it in the bedroom doorway and burned it and it falls down and has that texture. You have to use the flying fortress door for it
#1 you've already helped me. I didn't know that worked in camps. xD DAMMIT ALL. Ily Church

I love building in fallout 76. Never thought it would be so expensive, I am already on my ninth keyboard, sixth mouse and second monitor. Not frustrating at all.
Ahh, I jhest.
Turrets _are_ pretty ass but I did make a nice little gun emplacement consisting of a foundation, a table & 5 turrets of varying types. I've got a lite variant that uses regular machine gun turrets, a heavy variant that uses heavy mg turrets (obvs) & a cryo version with 4 heavy & a cryo.
Love the video!
Question: I was trying to find an old build video you did. A construction site. You had a cool trick to make it look like a chainsaw is on the floor using weapon display. Also an item that was just loose boards. Can’t find the video. Plz help

@@misterchurch666 yay thank you so much!!!
Couldn't agree more.
I like to integrate into the environment with my own builds, having a build look like it's part of the game world. And I never use the 'clean' build-sets or assets, makes no sense to. Near water are my favoured locations. And god bless drop-merging & the flamer trick when building too 😎
Oh, & why oh why don't we have fast travel rug spawn points yet, as we have with the Workshops. A simple placeable upon which we'll spawn. The 'trap camp' argument has no merit since our own Shelters became a thing, with those fixed spawn points upon entering them. It's so annoying that the Rug to spawn upon exists in the game, but not outside the workshops :(
I am not sure if it's helpful to try to find reason in why things are the way they are in this game 😂
@@misterchurch666 Can't help what the voices in my head drive me to.. only started hearing those voices, coincidentally, after playing 76 for a couple years.
loved that railcar build

How are you getting all the decorations to sit out on tables? They drop in bags for me
Those aren’t junk items, they’re floor decor items you can build in the build menu
Nice. I do physics and gravity, but the storytelling is too much effort. But I appreciate those who care about it.
