- Mod monday, so Terraria mods. In this video, I show mods that I found before, to destroy the calamity... That's double calamity. Also, Echdeath. Because, echdeath. Not sure why it's on the mod, but echdeath, calamity of all mods.

the way the instakills work is that the boss is set to deal 0 damage, which in terrarias code, is infinite damage, so it can kill you, even in godmode
Major correction on this: 0 damage does NOT equal infinite damage. Most likely, the boss just calls the "KillMe()" function on the player, which, well, kills the player instantly.
@@absoluteaquarian I don't think so. The anti death potion likely works by overriding what that function does. Very notably, Echdeath doesn't seem to actually "kill" you, it just "transforms" you, which would allow it to entirely circumvent potions that override what "being killed" means.

@@taelim6599 Both of you are correct; absoluteAquarian likely is referring to Yharon and Devourer of Gods. Echdeath would have its own method that's not overridden by the potion.

Apparently :Echdeath: can be spawned if the player uses Pandora's Box under the following set of very specific conditions:
The player is in front of an Ech Painting and unsafe Lihzahrd Brick Walls
The player is standing on top of Luminite Bricks
The player is simultaneously pressing the up and down keys while not pressing the left or right keys
It is a Solar Eclipse
The current moon phase is a Full Moon
A Dungeon Guardian is currently alive.

Even if you drink anti-death potion, no, you dont die... but.... echdeath was programmed to change the player mode to hardcore ghost mode.... so yeah... you dont die... but echdeath transform you into ghost mode. But its only ingame... thats why it does not delete your character.

In the source code for Echdeath one of the lines is "Main.LocalPlayer.Ghost = true;" so you are right and the reason it doesn't take damage is because it's health is always set to its max health (don't know why sand can kill it through)
Looking at the code for echdeath some more it might be because the sand does damage proportional to the health and it is damaging it faster then echdeath's frame count

I have an older version of Fargo’s soul mod/mutant mod and I can tell you that echdeath won’t erase. I think it only erases in newer versions (it was also cheesable with a different god mode mod.)

Fun fact: there is a highly convoluted way to summon ech death which requires: a special painting, natural lihzhard walls, luminite bricks, two different events, and a dungeon guardian

The reason why the AP potion didnt work against the Guardian and the Eidolon worm is because they reduce damage through a separate stat called "damage reduction" which on those two, is set to 99.99%

This makes me curious now as in the AlchemistNPC mod theres a chance to get a ban hammer (yes a literal ban hammer) that will always one shot anything that is not a boss so unless you dont have the boss health bar mod on that should be capable (or atleast i hope it's capable) of being *banned*
The boss health bar just changes how it looks it can't have a non-boss become a boss

The health amount at the start is actually the 64 bit integer limit. Its the highest number that it can process. So when it goes higher, it probably shoots down to minus integer limit hp (or it would crash) because there can not be a source number higher than that.

Echdeath doesn't actually deal damage, it just sets your gamemode to hardcore ghost.
This is why when making invincible boss, you need to turn off collision

The reason sand op is because sand will suffocate half the hp of an enemy like demon altars, but players take 1 damage because logic.

I'm assuming the way the anti-death potion works is it prevents the game running whatever function applies when you die. Instant-kill effects run this function without checking for HP first.
