Using Terraria mods to destroy the TRUE hardest block ─ It wasn't Chest, it's Temple Door!?

- What is the hardest thing in Terraria? More specifically, what is the strongest block that cannot be broken by typical means? While there are no bedrocks in Terraria, but there are some strong objects in Terraria, like the lihzhard brick. I know what most are going to say though: Chests. Even more specific, Chest with any item inside. For some reason, Terraria really don't like players from destroying their storage with items in it. Many only talks about the Chest, but we have been neglecting something... something that's actually stronger than the chest... well, maybe. maybe not. Jungle Temple Door in Terraria is somehow, the strongest object in game. And I tried to break it by using vanilla items, Calamity mod like Crystyl Crusher, and of course, Echdeath... Wait, do you hear the tactical nuke dropping?

To be honest, only the lock is Indestructible, because once you remove it, the door is completely normal....

Fun fact: you can break demon altars in pre-hardmode by running over them with a digging molecart
However, to be able to purchase the Digging Molecart from the Zoologist requires 60% of your Bestiary (314 items) to be filled out...
...the maximum number of entries that are _available_ in a new pre-Hardmode world are *269,* making it impossible to get under conventional means.
Either one of these could change in a day or two when 1.4.4 comes out
@@ZeroGForce Also, I'd say the more impressive part isn't that it's before the pwnhammer, it's that not only does it bypass the "damage instead of mining it thing" in pre hardmode, it doesn't even need a hammer strong enough to break demon altars.
It doesn't give you any hardmode ores, though.
Alternatively, you can abuse weird worldgen to get one standing on at least 2 layers of sand

They are responsable to be harden than a chest.
My theory is that it is an act of great sin to hostilely tear down and utterly obliterate someone's locked door and/or chest with items in the terraria world. That is why the Terrarian is refraining from it
But what if it's your chest? You have ownership of the items inside and the chest itself. You should be able to do as you please with it

if you place a chest in the same position you should be able to reclaim the lost items
I wonder if a meteorite could break it, there used to be a trick where you could break temple brick with meteors by putting chests everywhere else on the world but where the temple is.
Meteor won't spawn if there are doors too y'know?

@@jhonnx2 thats the dungeon, those flying skulls are ‘dungeon guardians’ to prevent u going in early. To go in, beat skeletron, which is summoned through the ‘Curse’ option in the old man’s textbox

One idea that has alway intrigued me is how biome mimics get their items. Personally I feel that when a key is inserted into the chest it transforms and absorbs the “Invincibility” of the chest and turns it into an item while infusing it with whatever souls are used, but i wonder if there is another explanation. Also this version would make sense considering all mimics can be defeated by the player because they have light and dark keys inside of them, allowing more concentrated chests to have an affinity to its souls but when hard mode enters into the world regular mimics get a equal balance of both. That’s why biome mimics have a specific variant but both are present and regular mimics are in “pure biomes” such as snow and the forest.
Can you break a locked chest without using a key if there are no items inside?
Can a meteorite destroy a locked jungle temple door?
A meteorite can not spawn if any temple blocks or chests are in its radiance

@@Ephyum If I recall, WandOfSparking did a mythbuster on that. I think the result was either nothing or crashing the game.

How to break temple door: unlock it, break it
how to break chest: remove item(s), break it
You cannot break a chest with items by removing the items, as the chest will no longer be one with items.
The same goes for unlocking the locked trmplr foot.

There should be a mod where if you were capable of breaking The Door, you could turn it into an immortal tower shield
One time, I was putting swords in a chest (the ingredients for my zenith), and when I was only 1 sword away, a solar eclipse happened. After the eclipse, an abigals flower bloomed there. I took it down with a picksaw, and it broke my chest, and all the items in it were gone
Put a new chest in the exact same location as the old one and you'll get your items back
the chains on the door were the indestructible things all along... well ill be damned

Not sure the exact version but on mobile the temple door used to be able to be destroyed with a dynamite
In old mobile you used to be able to break the looked door with the picksaw but it would respawn after a save quit and if you did it in multiplayer it would only work on your screen.
I was in pre hardmode, first time playing when this happened. I spawned the golem not knowing what I was doing and scared the loving crap out of me! Lesson well learned 🤣

but, actually on older terraria version where just the jungle temple exist and no cultist after defeating the golem, you can actually destroy the door with a bomb even pre-plantera (on mobile don't know about pc ver.)

IIRC, there is a mod that adds a “black hole pickaxe” to the game, which instantly deletes any tile you use it on, including tiles that are part of a locked JT door or a chest with an item in it
You see. Black holes swallow things. They do not break things. This means that the Hawking radiation by the black hole will not be able to affect the door and the door will be swallowed but not broken.

Black Hole Pickaxe mod would've definitely also worked.
This is what I wish for terraria:
1. Pickaxe progression should ignore dungeon and jungle temple blocks but work on all other blocks normally.
2. For the dungeon and jungle temple, their respective bosses to enter the place must be beaten then the block becomes mine-able with any pickaxe including the copper version or weaker.
3. For the dungeon a 3 layer set of solid dungeon block at 0 depth (or different for drunk seeds) is placed to deny entrance that would require skeletron to mine the block and 3 block thickness prevent hoik across. Skeletron will drop the bone key on master mode and the dungeon guardian is removed from the game entirely.
4. Same for the jungle temple but now the door still remains there, but there is several layer lihzard brick wall in front of it and behind it to prevent hoik. The lihzard brick can be mined with even the weakest pickaxe so long plantera is defeated since plantera is the boss that drops the key.
I love this video but what you should do is come back to that locked temple door with the black hole pickaxe and use that on the door. I heard it's pretty op. Nice video though loved it

There is a way you can do it in vanilla, so basically what you do is you use the digging mole cart over any chest and as long as it’s underground and if you have rails then it will glitch the chest out and delete the top half of the chest
It’s comedic spacing that the naturally spawned temple door was just out of reach
And that’s how you call chaos.

I found this out because I deleted one of the calamity bio lab chests (the schematic needed for codebreaker) with it. The instahouse from Fargo's mutant (not souls) mod. if using the instahouse next to the chest (or door (not tested yet)
) the house spawns, then bam, chest and all items deleted out of existence. It's probably a bug but you can test for yourself.

Back in an old phone version the door could be destroyed by a bomb so you could walk in, make a box that would break the golem to the point where he wouldn't be able to do literally anything, kill him with basically any weapon and get the possessed hatchet which was the most powerful weapon at the time

I actually remember a time where you could destroy a Terraria chest with items inside I forgot when but it was when I fist discovered Terraria through a friend and got my mother to get it for me then I played and the chests in caves etc where destructible regardless of items I never did progress in that playthrough I hadn't a clue that there was even bosses in the game

I dont know how to make mods, but about a year or two ago i was gonna try and make a mod of a boss that doesnt despawn, cant be killed, and is a chest.
