“PIT is Not authorized” That’s some bullshit. What would a 15mph put even do? Pit should always be authorized, especially at higher speeds, because what it the suspect gonna do? Run? The car and/or the suspect is gonna be dead. Quite a disgrace for Florida, a no pit policy.
I think the guy in the slow speed chase got justice. He got a 15 and 20 year sentence. Even though they are to be served concurrently, he hast to serve at least 85% of the sentence. Florida has it right.
No point performing a pit maneuver on a disabled car. He wasn't going anywhere, and hitting him would just waste tax payer money fixing the paint on the police car that hit him.
@elizabethgeorge168 he's going 15MPH. If he hits anyone the run is over, and the damage would be small enough even he could pay for it. Its also unlikely he would actually hit someone given he was struggling to maintain 15MPH. If you hit him it's a guarantee of a collision. If you leave him "running" at jogging speed you'll catch him when he inevitably stops. Not to mention this kind of damage to a car works like a cascade. It starts from the tires, and things begin to fail very quickly from there.
@@justinkaufman495 Properly outfitted police cars pit suspects all the time without causing one single bit of damage. The reason so many people are mentioning it is because the vast majority of departments would've been less passive in a situation like this.

4:25 Perfect position to box, WHY let him go???? what?
5:34 Pit not authorized...what? Why? Probably the most safe pit possible at those speeds.
So they go in to stop him in traffic... with a "plan"... and not one officer thinks stop sticks might be a thing to deploy right away?
And I guess I never understood what 'boxing in" means....easily avoidable
Yeah, stop sitcks when they're all behind him. Capital idea.
Of all the things in this video to criticize, that's like the least appropriate thing- especially since within minutes of first fleeing they successfully used spike strips to ruin 3 of the suspects' 4 tires. It legit almost feels like you have an ulterior motive.
@@williamnother8066 No ulterior motive. There's doing things well, and there's doing things better. I'd hope those officers came to a similar conclusion. That's what professionals do: learn and improve. Decreasing the odds of a 100 MPH chase or shortening it with stop sticks from the get go reduces risk for both the public and pursuing officers. If one of those officers HAD deployed stop sticks while the car was stopped, we'd be celebrating the move, cause it would have been smart. It would have been a good thing to have as part of the plan. Glad it worked out though.
@@cstgraphpads2091 : Stop sticks when they had him stopped the first time and "boxed in".
Dude made the mistake of not being an NFL player on the way to a game. Could have gotten off with a 5mph ticket if he was.

Dude the coordination and teamwork with this task force is next level!
I love these kinds of videos so much - not a lotta talk, just actual coverage.....that's so much better than going back & forth from the host to the coverage, from the host, to the coverage, etc.....Love this channel!!
Fun fact: one doesn’t have to give Miranda UNTIL you are going to question the suspect.

“PIT is Not authorized”
That’s some bullshit. What would a 15mph put even do? Pit should always be authorized, especially at higher speeds, because what it the suspect gonna do? Run? The car and/or the suspect is gonna be dead. Quite a disgrace for Florida, a no pit policy.
They should have put the stop stiks around his tires immediately when they had him stopped at the intersection.
"nothing on me but money bro"😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
"11 cops and 1 bad guy." Love it!
Lifetime criminals need stiffer penalities.
I think the guy in the slow speed chase got justice. He got a 15 and 20 year sentence. Even though they are to be served concurrently, he hast to serve at least 85% of the sentence. Florida has it right.
They usually get promoted to cheif.
This is such a hard chase to watch. So infuriating.
Are they making cops STUPIDER? If they were prepared for him to run, they should have laid out the stop sticks at the start.
@@stevelibby6852 1:49 he said they deployed stop sticks did u not watch the video. They just didn’t work.

Calm down.
Nowadays they would start screaming I can’t breath as soon as their tires are popped.

Great video, excellent information too!
Overall a superb video, glad I subscribed long ago.
Imagine some dingus on the radio telling you the pit is not authorized while crawling along at 15 mph.
I just wouldn’t ask permission
(Although I shouldn’t be talking because the police department in my town has a no-pit-whatsoever policy)
**Girl Scouts...on bikes...and hobby horses...could have kept him blocked in. Sheesh**
@1:00 the cop was nice enough to let the suspect flee.
Bruh I said the same thing. When his body cam pops up you see the big hole in traffic that truck was about to fill in. These cops were idiots.

The desk jokey that refuses the PIT needs another job.
No point performing a pit maneuver on a disabled car. He wasn't going anywhere, and hitting him would just waste tax payer money fixing the paint on the police car that hit him.
@@justinkaufman495so let him continue to ruin the run and almost hit others, just because he's going slow?
@@justinkaufman495 The DOT boys who have to fix the roads and repair the damage incurred from someone rolling on the rims will LOVE YOU!!!

Was hoping they would get bored and go home. Honestly they probably could have gone home, napped an hour or so, and come back to find him in roughly the same spot.
Officers must be frustrated no pit clearance. Could have ended this in 3 minutes
The white truck moving was enough distraction for the guy to take off
As a HUGE fan of Arkansas State Patrol, this police force gave me huge anxiety!
As soon as you said Florida, I knew it would be a wild one!
They don't have to get Mirandized unless they're about to be questioned.
that car has some impressive off roading capabilities considering it only has 1 good tire
Who is this guy in charge on the radio...he needs to be fired. Tells the cops to let him go...says PIT isn't authorized...Hopefully he's out of a job now.
It's not the dispatcher who chooses whether or not to authorize a chase or PIT maneuver...those decisions come from supervisors & are relayed to the officers by the dispatcher.
PIT HIM ALREADY!
Good thing he wasn't in Arkansas
