    That's a beautiful stack of firewood Brad. My guess is that when the client sees that, he might consider paying to have someone stack the seasoned wood that's lying in a heap next to yours to get it off the ground. Might be a perfect job for Brady and his pals on the next firewood run. A little exercise, and a little extra summertime cash for the the boys.

    Think about doing what Chris over at "in the woodyard" does with his pallet bins tied together with 17 gauge electric fence wire. A huge time saver for such a big order. It would work well in your customer's farm.

      Lol I was thinking same thing. I guess only downside is judging the cordage or unless you just judge each load as a cord and a half. Give or take a little...

    My first order I ever got on Facebook MP was for 17 facecords that they upped to 19 once they saw my wood. I made 30 facecords that year in total. I was out of wood to sell by September. Same thing happened the next year but I made 45 facecords so I was able to get to October before I ran out. It’s a fun hobby

    Great vid Brad! Nothing like a beautiful stack of firewood! Love the t-shirt! To help with the book ends from falling you could try running wire from pallet to pallet in the space between the two stacks. I do the same and I come back and tighten them once twice as wood dries and shrinks the space gets smaller and the stacks are more prone tipping over at that height. Keep it up and stay safe!

    Good order to get with the Eastonmade 12-22 and conveyor in the yard! Sure makes splitting easier. With all of that stacking you both are getting your workouts in. Having a “green order” customer does make sense for both parties. Glad to see the channel growing! I was the 600th like! 👍👍

    Don't worry about the count until it's there. Selling by the cord and delivering loose makes it a guessing game. If you get yourself talked into 7 loads and it takes 8 isn't defeat. But you could conveyor into the truck too. Should be able to knock a load out that way.

    Sounds like a great customer to have. Imagine having 10 people who wanted 10 cord each a yr. I have 10+ boilerwood customers who each get at least 6 +full cords from me a yr. I don't have to stack any of it tho. Just did a spltting job and filled /stacked 8 facecords of fireplace oak into a woodshed. If u ever ran out of tree service logs you could go around splitting other people's wood for at least $80/hr ,for how fast u make a cord with your splitter.$30/hr for chainsawing . Many ways to sell your firewood or paid for your work. That farmer should build a big wood shed for how much wood he burns in a yr. His wood on the ground will be all mud and wetter than the day it was split. And frozen solid come winter. He probably has sheet metal laying around for it anyways and to cover all the green wood u bring in October

    So, 54 face to one person? You're gonna have to ramp it up to have wood for bundles. Curious, boiler or woodstove? And if stove, how does he burn that much? I only burn maybe 9 face and it's warmer there than here in winter. Plus I turn my thermostat down to 60 just in case fire goes out but it doesn't

      @@FirewoodattheFurnace yup, 18x3. Ya know I'm a farmer, so I'm having trouble getting my head around why he's buying. Unless he doesn't have woods and has depleted the hedgerows. Hopefully he sees this and ends my misery. Now that I've reread and woke up, he'd be burning 24-25 face/year. House and farm shop I guess.

      He has a large farmhouse and multiple wood stoves as his sole source of heat

    • @StoptheLie
      @StoptheLie ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FirewoodattheFurnace That's an interesting situation just having wood stoves for your heat source. I'm sure his house was built before there were building codes requiring a primary heat source. Where I live you need a heating system so wood heat can't be your primary heat source. When I built my house 25 years ago, the building inspector said the reason for the code rule was a health and safety issue - if you are sick and can't feed the fire, how do you stay warm. I was getting ready last year to start using my radiant heat but it cost me about a $1,000 to fill one 275 gallon tank so I continued my planet fitness workout dropping, chopping and splitting hardwood. Forest management has always been my hobby and a great way for me to vent management related work stress. I hope I'm still working the land in my 70's and 80's. After I retired, I had the time to coach highschool girls and boys track and field. I focused on our natural movement patterns: bending, twisting, pushing, pulling, squatting, lunging and the gait. I also tell the 80 and 90 year old seniors at the senior center that their kids will put them in a home when they can't get off the couch or the toilet so keeping exercising. Be safe!
