I'm here for my Durango too haha no reason to pay that $85 or $35 (depending if you're going for Oreilly's or Rock Auto) if you don't have to! :) Did you end up having luck?
Would a stuck IAC valve cause a long crank situation. I did pull the iac out yesterday and the piston would not move. I was afraid to force it, but now I will go back and pull it out, clean it and see if it makes a difference. Thanks.
Getting ready to check and clean mine along with pcv, egr, thorttlebody, MAF, etc.. I'm not good with cars, but I've been watching vids lately trying to figure out why my idle rpms have dropped and I'm stalling when putting it in gear. And now today, the entire throttle has just died. I can push the pedal all the way down and it won't rise above idle. rpm. This probably has actually been around for many years and gradually got worse. I'm hoping it's a cheap and easy fix because I'm not good at doing big teardowns.
My ford mustang 2006 v6 is cranking but nothing but if u press the gas pedal enough times it will start and then stop again when u stop. Do u think that its the IAC or something else? We have changed fuel pump fuel filter fuel rail sensor. Im runing low on money to keep buying part. Please help
No you won't if you do it correctly.... gotta be gentle with it and just kinda jiggle it as you pull/ push on it.. To get it out easily remove it, connect harness, key on..... it will eject itself
Mine took extreme amounts of force to push in, and it wouldn’t come back, even after I sprayed it with Throttle Body cleaner over and over. I just ordered another one, let’s see how it goes.
I would only use automotive cleaners. WD40 is a penetrating oil; I would not use it on the IAC, MAF sensor or other electrical components. Only use cleaners recommended for those components
I found this video of removing the throttle body in one...I assume it should be located on the throttle body or near by, yeah? th-cam.com/video/gNSvNJIxqRE/w-d-xo.html
Anybody else get a horn sound lasting a few seconds while driving? Sometimes dies too after sound goes away. Only slower speeds and AC, heat or defrost have to be on. I have a 2001 Mustang GT 4.6 liter, 8 cylinder.
I know this is late but I had a ford f150 that would do that at times. It was something in the intake that turns... I think it was called the "Intake Manifold Runner Control Motor". But yeah Mine would make quite the noise lol. At first I thought the intake sucked something up haha. Hope that you've already fixed it but just in case, hopefully this will help
If you are buying cheap after market ones they can fail easily; I’ve had that happen. Another thing, how do you know it’s your IAC valve that’s failing and not something else?
Thanks! Cleaning my IAC helped improve the hard starting on my vehicle!
thank you so much , I couldn’t find any videos with a similar iac
You’re welcome, glad it helped
Great video 👍 Now im going to clean the one on my Dodge Durango.

What I have encountered is usually high idle, rough idle and stalling.
Can you clean out the port that the iac plugs in to? Can I spray throttle body cleaner in that port?
@@krisjustkris7970 yes, throttle body cleaner
the gearing or thread rather would prevent you from moving the spindle in and out by hand. This would generally break it?

Are you getting any engine codes?
It's driven by a stepper motor-you should never try to push it in or pull it out-you'll break it .

@@freemanfornow264And how to get it back in?
Thank much brother man
So if you cannot move the valve up and down by hand does that mean its faulty?
No. It should be firm
1:55 I only spray republic-ly
Thank you
Can you tell me were is it on a HHR 207
Do you think that electro cleaner would work in place of carb cleaner? Thanks.
No. Carb cleaner is more harsh and designed to dissolve gunk and build up
Yes electrical contact cleaner is absolutely fine works well
Excellent ! !

How'd it go Lucas?!
Could this be why my car will idle high during a cold start and slowly get higher and higher until I finally leave? And there no vaccuum leak
Yes, could be a bad IAC valve. Could also be a bad EGR Solenoid
question, WD40 spray cleaner it works?

@@PhillipsVision ahh i see.
Can i clean it with break cleaner?
@@Ocean-zj6vh yes, should be fine
@@PhillipsVision thanks!
Nitrile gloves to protect that liver
Never have I ever thought of my liver being at risk 😬 man thanks for that simple comment.
Could you please help me find the location of the IAC on 2002-2005 Audi A4 1.8T B6 Model?

Liked and subbed
Thank you, I appreciate your support
He also should have mentioned on cleaning the port

@@rewop23us hey, really appreciate that! Have never heard of that and will look into it. 👍🏻
Not that expensive...$60 isnt cheap...
The one in my car is $200. So I guess it's all relative to the person and the car.
Fr lol, the one on mine ranges from 60 to 140 like sheeesh
C'mon Man Go you know the thing.... $60.00 is more than I have 😮
$300 for mine
I would like to say thank you from the bottom of my heart. It runs perfect can't thank you enough
shoot im gonna go work on my car sniff ;) jk but thanks you saved me money !
Sniff😂😂
rule #1 no carb cleaner, no brake clean and they come apart and shouldnt pull in and out as it will ruin the motor
Explain more?
Oh OK smart so I should get a new one instead of fixing it
I've had to replace five of them am I 99 Chevy Express does anyone know why
