    Hey Sam, thank you for giving the Coronations a run out, they are by far my favourite steam locomotives especially in red/gold and blackout liveries.
    Another great video Sam,
    Chris :)

    Thank you, Sam. I've wanted to see you run the streamliners. I'm a HUGE fan of the American Art Deco styling of locomotives in the 1930s. I enjoyed seeing what the UK offered.

    10.07. Best Bull shot ever! 13.08. Express Bull, loved it. My favourite for the day would be Mallard in BR green. Many of your viewers would not have seen the A4's in service but I did from 1958 until the end of steam. They were all BR green during that period and to me that's the "right" colour. David.

    LNER #4482 "Golden Eagle" was built at Doncaster Works on December 22nd, 1936. He was renumbered to 23 after WW2 and it became British Railways #60023 in 1948 and worked at Gateshead Shed. By the time of it's withdrawl from service on October 30th, 1964, it was working up in Scotland at Aberdeen Ferryhill Shed. It was cut up at Motherwell Machinery & Scrap Ltd. Scrapyard on December 31st, 1964 at the age of 28.

      Thanks very much Glenn - yeah I love those too! Do you mean the tri-ang ones? They were only produced for a couple of years, which is why they're not too easy to find! That being said - those Hornby ones are quite few and far between too actually!

    A very powerful collection of locomotives Sam. Great to these models running. Point work! What can you do! I'm not sure you digital control set up would work on my old Super 4 point work! GREAT BIG BLUE SPARKS when the old models run over these!!! I had the Zero 1 set up back in the late 70s. Shorting out was a constant problem I seem to remember.
    Great fun to watch.

    • @SamsTrains
      @SamsTrains  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Oscar, thanks a lot for the comment mate - yeah I've had some big blue sparks in my time though... though they were less expected on my modern track - hehe! Yeah I can imagine that! I bet all the EMF from those motors played havoc with those systems!

    #6244 "King George IV" was built at Crewe Works on July 31st, 1940. I dunno if he ever had the Streamlining when he was first built due to the fact WW2 had just begun. It became BR #46244 in 1948 and was based at Camden Sheds. He was withdrawn from service on September 30th, 1964 from Carlisle Kingmoor Sheds. It was cut up at Arnott Young Scrapyard on December 31st, 1964.

    #6224 "Princess Alexandra" was built at Crewe Works on July 31st, 1937. It became BR #46224 in 1948 and was based at Polmadie Shed. It was also still working at Polmadie when she was withdrawn from service on Halloween Night, 1963 and was also scrapped at Crewe Works on Halloween Night 1963.

      I've been noticing that cow a lot, he gets around. Wonder if the guard knows he's there. No problem, love your videos, probably the best British model train channel there is. Keep up the good work. By the way, I've been wondering why no one makes British o gauge trains. MTH makes French and German but no British. I was wondering if you had some insight as you have a lot of OO and HO models. Anyway, keep up the great work, if you haven't done an LMS or BR running session, I would totally watch that, if you have then I'm gonna have to find it. Great video. Love the streamliners, keep the British steam coming. :)

    There were two versions of the P2, there was that one in the video, and a streamlined one, looked like an A'4 Pacific sort of but with a 2-8-2 configuration, i would give a link but i don't want this comment removed, search up; "LNER P2 Streamlined", literally small to no difference in comparison to an A4 pacific but it's an 2-8-2 config.

    If you want some american streamliners you already have the Daylight and that Union Pacific diesel. Others are the Bachmann Norfolk and Western class J #611 which is still operating. There is also Bachmann‘s New York Central niagara 4-8-4 and Rivarossi‘s 4-6-4 New York Central hudsons.

      Yeah - I would love that actually - but there's no room for one sadly :(

    Like you, I am changing all my points that need it, to express points.
    Those A3s and A4s are not too happy with standard points.
    I find the A4 in Apple Green looks rather odd. I much prefer BR green.

    • @SamsTrains
      @SamsTrains  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi William, yeah it's the best idea - well serviced locos don't really struggle on them either - so it's the best bet!
      And yeah definitely - that BR green A4 used to be terrible on them!
      I think you're right though - the LNER green does look odd - but I still find it quite old fashioned and attractive!

      Yeah I bet it would be! Perhaps there would be ways to access the essentials easily though? You'd expect so!
      Definitely not as easy than without though - that's probably why they scrapped it in the end!
