    I remember seeing that bridge for the first time on the first episode of season 1 back when I was a kid. I was mesmerized. Something so special, familiar, modern and futuristic. I could picture myself sitting at a station, working along side these wonderful people, exploring the stars and living the best comfortable life. I miss these days.

    I'm a little surprised they didn't go with the balcony. What better way to show that a situation was serious than by having yet another random crew member get yeeted over the railing when their console exploded?

    • @travist.7279
      @travist.7279 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Gerry Anderson beat them to it. You'll notice that the balcony set design looks a lot like the bridge set in "Space1999" (Season 1). Just joking. But, it is an interesting coincidence.

    • @Hawk_of_Battle
      @Hawk_of_Battle 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Why have them get thrown OVER the railing, when you could have them thrown THROUGH the railings, and showcase yet another Federation health and safety oversight by having insufficiently secured barriers? Not to mention the extra hazard caused by having falling debris/personnel raining down on the officers below.

      We had circumstances on the ship such as Underway Replenishment where you couldn't leave your watchstation at the normal shift change, so if you developed the need to hit the head, you'd call for a temporary change. Some roving watchstanders (shaft alley patrol, roving electrical watch, etc.) could just go.

    Never understood why they didn't use the escape pods when the saucer section crash landed. Sure maybe they didn't have enough for everyone. But from orbit a crash landing probably would take at least 15 minutes. It is probably more like 30 to 60 minutes at least since they were not actually in orbit. They could have even launched shuttle craft and beamed people aboard. Then have a skeleton crew make the crash landing.

    • @julesjernigan7631
      @julesjernigan7631 ปีที่แล้ว

      Do you realize how long it would take to get over 1000 people it to escape pods

    • @MrT------5743
      @MrT------5743 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Jules Jernigan wouldn't need all 1000 to escape pods. Would you rather crash land from orbit or use escape pods. If it takes a long time to use escape pods, then why is that even what they yell seconds before a warp core breach? Tell me you never watched ST without telling me.
      There are 400 escape pods on D. So even if 2 people grabbed the closest one and left, that's 800 gone within minutes. Tell me again why that wouldn't work?
      Heck, many could have been transported to the surface. The stats say they can transport 1000 people per hour. Using shuttle craft 250 more. Do you know how long it takes to crash.land.from orbit? Minimum of 30 minutes. So 500 people to escape pods and 500 transporter and still have time to spare.

      Nope, that chair wasn't the result of the stolen chair. Watch the movie again, just after the bridge gets a hole blasted in it you can see the captain's chair now has a slightly deferent shape to it, so the replica chair was only used at the very end of the battle.

    The original Conn/Ops chairs were both uncomfortable to sit in & stand up from leading to the more upright forward-facing stations in season 2. Although these originals were brought out for All Good Things along with the wooden side panels the 2nd captains' chair was still used in the 'Farpoint' timeline it's possible the original chair had been redressed for Beverly's captains' chair in the future timeline

    The buttons may have done nothing and it maybes was improv but actors know that when they do press buttons to do certain things they must keep repeating what they did the first time because they know the viewers will expect it otherwise they will get letters from viewers and fans pointing out you did it this way in one episode but completely different in another. They know the fans care about the little details and call out bullsh*t when they don't appear to care.
