Diahatsu all day long. It may have had a slight percussive readjustment, but it's basically a Toyota, so if you keep the oil topped up it'll keep going indefinitely. While that Alfa is a essentially a Fiat Punto in a pretty dress. Every Fiat I've worked on I've ended up hating intensely. But that might just be me. 😂
I don't get the hype over Alfas.
At the moment the Alfa works well but I trust it less than the government 😂

Nah that Daihatsu is a proper lovely little car, I always wanted one so much. I had a friend with the similar Daihatsu YRV Turbo and it was absolutely brilliant when it wasn't being rotten.
Amazing! We have a bit of rust but it isn't toooooo bad. More crashed 😅 I can tell just by driving it in and out the unit it's going to be great fun!
Mechanically it's sound so hopefully we can get the road trip filmed within 2 weeks. Thanks for watching 🙏
@@epiccarshow Yeah those little Mk1 Yaris derived cars are bulletproof with running gear. I had a T Sport myself and it put up with a lot of abuse in the 4 years I owned it 😂
this seems to be a Fiat FIRE engine in the Alfa which proved cheap and reliable if looked after

What would get me angriest is 'it's basically a yaris'. The only car I went to the dealer for to drive ANOTHER one to make sure it really was supposed to be that bad, before I sold it.

As much as I enjoy project cars, I have to go with the Alfa Romeo. Being in America, Alfas aren’t common to see, especially the smaller hatches. I’m a bit jealous of all the euro cars that we can’t get over here.

You are not a petrol head until you have had an Alfa . But the little red pocket rocket is a p.o.s as well. So you both did good. Give yourself another 500 quid to do performance modifications to them. Have fun in them then sell them. to whoever gets the most wins .

Hi, let me just say one, I'm not from the UK and two I would never have bought either one in those conditions, my 2016 Honda fit is way way better than either of them and I got in an auction. Saying that however if the Daihatsu wasn't crash damaged by the lorry, it would be the better car, My Dad used to own the none rally non-crash one, and it was brilliant l, it was also very tiny.
It's very lovable, mechanically it sounds great, we Just need to get it on the road

I paid £3000 for my 2005 Ford Fiesta 11 years ago. I have money to buy a new car but I think why! It has never let me down, and I spend most of my time stuck in traffic, so what is the point of having a newer car that is more complicated and could go wrong....
I had a ford s max I ran it in not the ground. Loved it
Arhhhh. I feel what's required is here is a few yards of duck tape, for the Daihatsu, and some go faster stickers for the Alfa. Then you will both be good to Go.😂

The Daihatsu is wayyyyy cooler, if you find the Shed of the week article about the Rally 2 there's a link to a dude absolutely sending one around some mountain roads, the Mito is just the Alfa apprentices bought if they didn't wanna get a loan for a Giulietta and didn't want a Fiesta ST/Golf GTI lmao
To be honest the Alfa was an impulse buy 😅. I'll probably regret it but if it survives our planned roadtrips it could save the brand lol

F net zero its a fraud, small lightweight car is way better than a heavy ev due to just less material's used and better for the roads. its not what comes out the back (plant food). look at a kei car as example very little material's used , light weight and legally do everything a 2.5 ton car dose on the road , just think less damage to the road and twice as many road side parking spaces , that far better than any ev where the battery takes 250 ton worth earth to be moved that is no way eco but a car with very little material's used that is far better. my next car i hope to get in a week or two it top spec but it a car i plan to keep decades. people scraping safe working cars only deserve one thing and that prison. cars on roads today is a bore fest fat ugly modern blobs what look the same the cars i grew up seeing from the 80's and early 90's they so dam rare, even seeing a rover 600 made my day my last visit in to the town. hardly any classics left from when i grew up, what this gen kids going to get , by looks of it non cars they grew up with and that sad. we are in a solar cycle we see every 350-400 years we not in control the sun it, its a natural cycle hijacked by the 1% who rule us. the biggest wealth transfer in human history and to remove our freedom they do not want us on the roads slowing the top 1% down, if it was really an issue as it is not you would not see the pm in v8 range rover followed by number heavy cars, private jets would be banned, the woke king give up his chopper and train and jet. i be sent to prison before i give up m next car if they stop me i find a way to triple my co2 to make a point , co2 gas of all life. last big freeze co2 got to 180ppm if it fallen to 150ppm or lower we would not be here now as plants start to die at that level, even noaa say even tho they in with this fraud say All weather on Earth, from the surface of the planet out into space, begins with the Sun.
