Yea, I think upgrading their style was definitely for the best (some people say they prefer the original but I can't really imagine a lot of the later plot lines being nearly as good with the old stiff style), but I like that the beginning of the show is so stylistically distinct. And for the first 1-2 seasons having that type of style helped the show imo, since it complimented the comedy well
@@Supperdude9 No it most definitely was just a gag that they later added meaning too. The writers had no plan for any greater storyline at the beginning, but started crafting it after some stuff lined up. Goes to show how good the writers were, they turned a joke into a plot point and still kept it funny.
@@allforone3427 Yeah I later learned this proper. It's a nice technique when you're writing, that you can do call backs. Makes you seem smarter than you actually are.

I think JJ's outrage on escaping from the toxic wasteland that was Doc's drug fueled body was pretty understandable. Jonas really didn't have much time to BE bad; his first and only act was to repurpose Guardo, the microwave, and the odds and ends we saw in "Tag Sale: Your It!" into his exoskeleton. If Brock and Doc hadn't taken him down, and shown him some compassion, Jonas could have been a right bastard. As it was, his short life was pretty damned amazing.

I love how much their style looks like a comic in motion, even if it doesnt look as good as the later seasons its definitely got this charm to it
This is the perfect description of the early seasons.
The scooby doo art was a huge turn off for me when I was younger. Good thing the content was funny.
I have no idea why everyone hates hand drawn animation. But then, I'm perplexed by most things people do or think.
