I've always believed that this is the correct way to write a gay character, he's a total badass who seems like a normal guy, these days every time there's a gay character in a show that seems to be their entire character but Shore Leave has more to his character than just being gay which makes him an actual character and extremely enjoyable

There was this 1 girl who was bi I swear I had feelings for her but she said if she liked guy she would try something but that was 3 years ago But anyway she was a awesome friend it was funny seeing her threaten someone and she was a hunter she knew a lot about trucks and guns and was a stoner so she’s laid back
I like Shore Leave because he's so unapologetically himself, and he's one of the most skilled characters in this show. I still think the shoot off better him and Hatred is one of my favorite scenes! He deadly, can cut hair, fashionable, can sail a boat, fly multiple aircraft, etc.
Everyone talks about how hilarious these secondary characters(there are no Side Characters in Venture Brothers, except the guys that die like the Doom Factory and the Evil Mystery Inc team) are and should get their own spin offs, when what makes Venture Brothers what it is is the interactions between these characters in the greater story of the Venture family rather then focus on just them.
Yeah I have thought about this. There are so many characters I realy care about and anyone who dies or disappeares is a legit loss. Perfectly written personalities.

He doesn't let the gay consume him. He just so happens to be gay, but holds his own weight as an OSI/Sphynx Agent with a penchant for the sea breeze. Oh, and he's almost as dangerous as Brock.

Excellent choices, I mean Red Death was introduced so late, but became so iconic so quickly. He is one of the best advocates of a work life balance I've ever seen in fiction; he's a devoted husband, a loving father AND one of the world's most feared supervillians. Plus the voice of Clancy Brown of course. It all makes him worthy of comparison with longterm options like Shore Leave and 21, who are both also great.
I love how this series could come up with the best puns for character names. Seriously, there is a one off character named "Tank Top" who has a tank top made out of a tank with a full barrel on it. Also you'd think that holy armor would have come back into play at some point.
I can't be the only one that would have loved to see an episode where Shoreleave takes Dean or Hank on a night on the town. Just imagine him taking them to clubs then having to protect them from the obvious hustlers and jealous guys and con men. Be a lot of fun.
That bit with him diving in the water proves that shoreleave is the kind of guy who puts a funny bit over logic and it bites him in the ass. Been there 😅

Shore Leave is an expert blend of femininity, and masculinity. He's in touch with his emotions & sexuality, but doesn't let it control him. He is fashionable, but not really vain. He has a sense of humor that isn't restricted to sex or pop culture references. And when it comes to a fight, he is brave, resourceful, and reliable.
i love the fact that the gayest man in the show is best friends with the straightest man in the show. and i also love the fact that shore leave doesn't try to hit on brock at all. he's just his buddy and he has his own tastes, hence why he hooked up with al.

Shore Leave's approach to Captain Sunshine with the Cinderella story & a big gun is bada$$. Also rehashing the Operation game commercial with Hank + Dean to the annoyance of Samson & getting a nookie from Samson while Tom Paxton's 'All The Children' plays as background music was fun too.

The Venture Brothers is the best thing to happen to my 70’s & 80’s pop culture; Johnny Quest, G.I. Joe, Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Dr.Strange, Dr. Doom, Blade, Six Million Dollar Man, James Bond, etc… More importantly, the premise of past and present heroes and villains playing by “the rules” as a backdrop to them going through the same struggles, failure, joy, and success that everyone can relate to. All and I mean all of the characters are thoroughly fleshed out and the dialogue is the best and although there is a good deal of violence, it’s usually because someone decided to play against the rules.
It's even better in context. Keep in mind this is a minor character, that works for a crossdresser that works a guy who hulks out. And these guys are so bad assed that Brock Samson looks up to them. And then you go ba k and find little hidden gems kinda like rewatching the infinity saga.
"Hey hank! killed hitler" will always be 1 of my fave brock lines "no no thats not my gun. thats an indicator of how EXCITED i am to do this to you" other fave line lol

I have never watched Venture Brothers a day in my life, but I've watched about six of these compilations now
It's even better in context. Keep in mind this is a minor character, that works for a crossdresser that works a guy who hulks out. And these guys are so bad assed that Brock Samson looks up to them. And then you go ba k and find little hidden gems kinda like rewatching the infinity saga.
