I solo travel because my friend group doesn’t prioritize travel and doesn’t have the funds to do so. And I’m not traveling with family either because I still live with them and don’t need them being intrusive about personal aspects of my life and disrupting the activities I want to do 🤷🏾♀️

I always travel with the unaccompanied minor program on delta and Alaskan airlines they are the best airline in domestic travel in my opinion they take care of everyone and watch any minors nonstop one time the delta pilot even came to me to make sure I was comfortable and safe what a wonderful man😊

I went on a solo trip to Niagara water falls because i was staying in the country alone for work. I still cant forget the people i met. China town travel guy who helped me when i missed the bus. Chinese girl with whom i roamed even though we didnt know each other language. She know only chinese and i didnt know chinese. All we communicated was through body language yet a trustable travel partner❤

The one downside is hotel cost. I often have to pay the same price as 2 persons sharing a room (understandably so), so travelling solo is more expensive than travelling in groups.
I wanted to start travelling the world when I was 18. But the pandemic hit. I hadn’t finished college yet- so I finished it a year late. I made that decision because I heard of it when I was kid, like 7. Kids who used to sail around the world with their parents or grew up in different countries, it’s in my blood I reckon because everyone on my dad side- he’s Irish, has been quite the adventurers and my mum has traveled to. She’s from Brazil and I’m English. I’m more ethnically mixed than that. My grandma sailed to Africa from the uk in her 60s I think, she now 80, her sister was climbing mountains till her 60s to I think. My dads siblings travelled. I’ve been saving to travel since 16, I’m now 21 I feel like I’m a year or two late to travelling. Unfortunately there’s still some unfinished buisness in my city. I’m not sure if I’m gonna travel, if I want to anymore, if I’m gonna make it out. When I’m gonna go. But I wanna make the most of it here before/ so I don’t have to come back, in a hurry. I don’t belong in my city. Probably not in this country either. Usually I try and b smart and don’t put my plans out there, but it doesn’t seem like it’s gonna happen, just wanted to share a lil. To anyone who wants to travel, try it, so you don’t live in regret of your dreams dying. Keep your wits about you out there

i think it's because you have nobody to lean on. I used to fly between the U.S. and China with my dad every now and then and it felt so snug to lean my head on their shoulder during the 12 hour plane ride. It can be so lonely and uncomfortable traveling without anyone.
